CFD!'s Sage Knox, who has a long-standing love affair with the Splinter Cell series, takes on the story's newest chapter. Is the honeymoon finally over for Sage and Sam Fisher? Take a look:
"Back from a tumultuous slumber, the stealthy panther that is Sam Fisher has risen from the ashes for Splinter Cell: Conviction. Originally announced in 2007 as a hobo simulator, Sam’s new adventure disembarks from the classic “sneak-and-evade” gameplay of old and boasts a “sneak-and-destroy” focus.
"My constant struggle with Conviction’s new style has hampered my ability to adequately enjoy the game as others have. When SC:C opens, it’s quite apparent that the series’ constant option to exclusively use stealth doesn’t apply anymore. Within the first 30 seconds of player-controlled action you’re tasked with gunning down a couple of unaware guards. Conviction isn’t the traditional stealth-action game: it’s a sneaky third-person shooter and it doesn’t hide it."

Splinter Cell: Conviction is more than a month away from its release date, but Splinter Cell’s exposure is increasing every week. With videos like the ones you are about to see, Ubisoft needs to keep them coming. Sam Fisher is taking his bad ass routine to new heights and it’s only natural take Sam’s new attitude online. This isn’t the first Splinter Cell to have online multiplayer, but I’m willing to say that is will be the best

Microsoft tried to keep the Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 Elite bundle on the low until X10, but that was uncovered a couple of days ago. Now the homies over at Arstechnica confirm that Splinter Cell Conviction is getting the same elite bundle treatment. The Splinter Cell Conviction bundle will release on April 13, 2010 and comes in all black with 2 controllers, a 250 GB hard drive, a headset, and the Splinter Cell game (no design on the console itself).Microsoft tried to keep the Final Fantasy XIII Xbox 360 Elite bundle on the low until... more

French publisher Ubisoft has detailed their plans for their fiscal year 2010, which begins in April and will wrap up in March 2011.
Included in those plans are a two-month delay of Splinter Cell: Conviction (damn you, Ubi!), a new Ghost Recon title, and a third full-fledged Assassin’s Creed game. Hot on the heels of November’s acclaimed hit Assassin’s Creed II, I certainly didn’t expect a turnaround so quickly. The press release hints that the new chapter in the series “will be the first [...] to have an online multiplayer mode.”

"There have been plenty of great games released in 2009, but as the year finally comes to a close, it's time to look forward. 2010 looms and unlike previous years, there will be no lull in the first few months. The series of delays from 2009 mean the 2010 will be kicking off with a bang and the Feedback crew -- Adam Sessler, myself, Abbie Heppe and Andrew Pfister -- decided to spend New Years Eve (we're that dedicated, friends) discussing their most anticipated games of next year.""There have been plenty of great games released in 2009, but as the year finally... more

Hold on to your trousers, folks. It’s the biggest video game controversy since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2!
On Thursday evening, Ubisoft decided to piss-off everyone who loves games, creativity, and lack of corporate presence in their private lives, revealing they’ll be incorporating in-game advertising in Splinter Cell: Conviction, not only during torture scenes, but throughout the game’s environments.

We had begun to think for a while that Splinter Cell: Conviction was never going to come out. Then, when Sam Fisher emerged at this year’s E3 clean shaven, we realized he’d just been looking for a barber the whole time.
Well, it seems that even a smooth face isn’t enough to keep Sam out of the cogs of the Great Delay Machine. During today’s Ubisoft investor update, Splinter Cell: Conviction was announced to have slipped from Q4 of this year to the first quarter of 2010. Hey, at least he’ll have plenty of company alongside other recently delayed titles like BioShock 2, Bayonetta and friends. Didn’t you get the memo? Q1 is the new Q4 – it’s all the rage!We had begun to think for a while that Splinter Cell: Conviction was never going to... more
