I just finished watching the second season of Glee on dvd. It's a good buy since you can go to the "Glee Jukebox" in the special features section to watch them perform the songs after you've seen the show.
When I watched the first season on dvd, I got sucked in and I couldn't get out. This time I was expecting it. I waited until I had a few days where I didn't have to be anywhere before trying to watch it. Then I ended up watching it straight through in a day. I have no ability to turn this show off. It's truly addictive.
I'm glad Ryan Murphy is trying to push original writing in teens. There is surprisingly little of it done, especially on the amateur level. It's a great hobby. It helps level out the brainwaves, so to speak. It also helps people get to know each other better. Our local junior college is trying to promote small bands who write their own songs. It could become more fashionable instead of just doing covers of well established songs. Mixing it up like that changes the pace of the performance and makes it more interesting since the audiences don't know quite what to expect. It's not really that big of a risk for a band that hasn't broken out yet to write their own material.
Anyway, Good Luck to Glee!I just finished watching the second season of Glee on dvd. It's a good buy since... more

I’m sure some ‘Glee’ fans will be shooting over some nastygrams for me saying this, but I definitely found this season of the Fox hit show to be a little tired with way too man ‘special episodes’ dedicated to one artist. Whereas the first season was such a hit because the songs integrated with the plot smoothly, most of this season felt a little how the movie ‘Dreamgirls’ did in someone talking and suddenly a song which felt a little forced was hoisted upon us.I’m sure some ‘Glee’ fans will be shooting over some nastygrams for... more

Based on the best-selling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat Pray Love already has its very own built-in audience, the question is whether or not anyone outside of that audience is going to want to eat what this film is cookin’. It seems to me most women that have read this book either love it or hate it, some seeing Gilbert as a self-centered whiner and others taking notes when it comes to her soul-searching world travels. As a male that hasn’t read the book, I have no opinion on these matters.
