Another reason the Ryan Budget Plan is BAD for America...
With Paul Ryan’s proposed “territorial“ tax, the US could tax only income earned within its borders. This would allow multinational corporations to bring home profits earned abroad without paying additional taxes. Unlike Saverin, they would not have to renounce American citizenship; they just need to have at least one subsidiary outside the US.

This is just desperation. They don't want Ayn Rand's philosophy to become an issue this year, so Paul Ryan just flat out lied about his love for Rand. He requires his employees to read Atlas Shrugged. Why would he do that if he thought her views were antithetical to his. Its like me or anyone requiring my employees to read Mein Kampf and when called on it I say Hitler'sviews are antithetical to mine. Liar, liar, pants on fire! This is just desperation. In defending his budget, Ryan insisted that there can be differences among the Catholic faithful on this issue. Really? It’s funny how there can be differences among Catholics on this issue, but not on the issues of birth control, abortion and same-sex marriage. Again, what we have here is the classic GOP hypocrisy when it comes to faith and government. Basically, it’s whatever suits the GOP’s political purpose at the time...

Robert Reich, former U.S. Labor Secretary and a professor at UC Berkeley, and "Viewpoint" host Eliot Spitzer question the politics behind Congressman Paul Ryan's (D-Wis.) budget given its lack of specificity. Reich takes issue with hypocrisy related to people taking advantage of the capital gains tax rate: "When you're dealing with private equity managers like Bain Capital, like Mitt Romney, they’re not taking any risk at all. It's not their money. They're investing other people’s money."Robert Reich, former U.S. Labor Secretary and a professor at UC Berkeley, and... more

By Sahil Kapur / Talking Points Memo
Appearing on two Sunday talk shows, the GOP's top budget guru Rep. Paul Ryan promised to close enough loopholes to pay for the large tax cuts in his budget blueprint unveiled last week -- but he repeatedly refused to specify any.
"We're proposing to keep revenues where they are, but to clear up all the special interest loopholes, which are uniquely enjoyed by higher income earners, in exchange for lower rates for everyone," Ryan said on CBS' Face The Nation. "We're saying get rid of the tax shelters, the interest group loopholes and lower everybody's tax rates."

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum on Tuesday charged that the Obama administration was full of “elite snobs” who were looking “down their nose at the average American.”
The former Pennsylvania senator went on the attack against President Barack Obama and Democrats for rejecting Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) to replace the current Medicare program with a voucher scheme.
“They don’t believe you can make these decisions,” Santorum told a crowd in Boise, Idaho. “They need to makes these decisions for you because if you were left to make decisions you will obviously jump off a cliff.”
“Don’t you see how they see you? How they look down their nose at the average American — these elite snobs.”
He continued: “Guess what Paul Ryan’s plan is modeled after? Members of Congress’ plans. It is the same model, exactly the same. It says because members of Congress have the same plan as every federal employee, which is a pretty good plan. … It gives everybody the opportunity to go out and get what they need. What they think they need.”
Although Ryan told NBC that his his plan “works exactly like the health care I have as a member of Congress and federal employees have,” Princeton economics professor Uwe E. Reinhardt says there is at least one “huge difference.”
Under the Federal Employee Health Benefit Plan (FEHBP), the government contribution rises at the rate of average premiums charged by private insurers. But Ryan would only have Medicare spending tied to the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which has historically not kept up with health care costs.
“Indexing the federal contribution to Medicare beneficiaries to the C.P.I. can thus be expected to shift an ever-larger share of the total health spending on Medicare beneficiaries from the books of government to the household budgets of these beneficiaries,” Reinhardt wrote in May.
“It is fair to wonder whether members of Congress would ever pass a bill indexing the federal contribution to their insurance premiums only to the C.P.I. rather than, as now, to the growth in insurance premiums.”

It was on Reddit that first fueled the fire, and brought Rob Zerban to light. The fact is that there actually is someone ready to unseat Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) from his seat. Ryan may just be the most vulnerable of the Republicans come 2012. What is really needed is more publicity for his main opponent, Rob Zerban.
What started it was a couple posts on Reddit that took off like a firestorm allowing people to see there is hope of unseating Paul Ryan.
It started with an AMA (ask me anything) by Rob Zerban. Follow the link below to see how he tackled many of the pressing issues we see today. He personally responded to many questions about his political stances within the AMA, so it is definitely worth the view...

Because of the opposition seen towards Paul Ryan, Rob Zerban has exploded with overwhelming support. Over just a couple days of posting on Reddit, he burst the campaign money bomb receiving over $15,000 in little over 36 hours.
If you can, please take the time to look over his campaign's website. I don't have any affiliation with it, but just someone who really wants Paul Ryan out, and I'm sure many of you feel the same way as me!

Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) told columnist George Will and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) on Sunday that Republican opposition to marijuana legalization was “a great embarrassment to the conservatives.”
During a town hall-style debate on ABC, Frank demanded a response from Will about decriminalizing marijuana.
“I mean, personal liberty, if someone wants to smoke marijuana who’s an adult, why do you want to make them go to jail?” Frank asked.
“With regard to marijuana, I need to know more about whether it’s a gateway drug to other drugs,” Will replied. “I need to know how you are going to regulate it, whether you’re going to advertise it.”
“Anything is a gateway to anything,” Frank said, dismissing Will argument. “That’s the slippery slope argument which is a very anti-libertarian argument. The fact that if somebody is doing something that’s not in itself wrong, that it might lead later on to something else then stop the something else. Don’t lock them up for smoking marijuana.”
“What you’re calling a cop-out, I’m calling a quest for information,” Will insisted.
“How long’s it going to last, George?” Frank asked. “We’ve been doing this for decades.”
“I understand liberalism’s aversion to information because it often doesn’t go in their direction,” Will quipped.
“No, I’m not averse to it,” Frank shot back. “I’ve been studying this for a long time. You know, you’re on Medicare. How much longer are we going to have to wait for you to make up your mind?”
“Let’s get off marijuana,” Ryan interrupted, eager to move to the next topic.
“It’s a great embarrassment to the conservatives,” Frank pointed out. “They want to tell people who they can have sex with. Come on, all this is big government! Who can I have sex with? Who can I marry? What can I read? What can I smoke? You guys, on the whole — not all of you — but the conservatives are the ones who intrude on personal liberty there.”

Newt rose to power in the ‘90s by running against alleged Democratic corruption, but soon faced multiple accusations before the House Ethics Committee. Gingrich eventually had to pay a $300,000 fine for misusing his tax-exempt foundations for political gain – making him the only House speaker in American history to be disciplined by Congress for ethics violations.

Bluff collapse came weeks after Congress rebuffed EPA on coal ash rule
e-mail print By Thomas Content of the Journal Sentinel
Nov. 1, 2011 |(32) Comments
The bluff collapse that sent coal ash into Lake Michigan Monday came at a time when the utility industry and environmental groups have mobilized for and against tougher regulations of coal ash.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced plans to regulate coal ash after a Tennessee Valley Authority ash spill in 2008 that flooded more than 300 acres of land in Tennessee. Coal ash flowed into nearby rivers and killed fish.
Coal ash landfills are common across the country, including Wisconsin. These landfills are monitored for contaminants that are found in coal ash, including mercury, cadmium and arsenic, which are associated with cancer and other serious health effects.
An environmental cleanup firm hired by We Energies is on site in Oak Creek Tuesday, as an investigation continues into the cause of Monday's bluff collapse.
In 2010 EPA concluded said its risk assessment demonstrated that, “without proper protections, these contaminants can leach into groundwater and can migrate to drinking water sources, posing significant health public concerns.”
The Sierra Club on Tuesday said the We Energies bluff collapse should be a call to stop action in Congress to thwart the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s move to regulate coal ash as a hazardous substance.
“The EPA has been trying to enact national protections to stop this kind of disastrous spill from happening again, ever since the TVA disaster in 2008, and our Congress has been blocking them every step of the way,” said Mary Anne Hitt, director of Sierra Club’s Beyond Coal campaign. “As a result, communities across the nation remain at risk and unprotected. This spill in the Great Lakes is a tragic reminder of why the status quo is not good enough. As long as Congress interferes, spills like this are going to happen, and dozens of communities are at risk. Congress needs to back off and allow the EPA to finalize strong protections.”
In its own update on the bluff collapse, We Energies said, "Coal ash is not hazardous material. It is unlikely there will be any health impacts at all from this event."
Earlier this month, the House of Representatives approved a bill that would rein in EPA's ability to regulate coal ash as a hazardous substance.
Last year, while Gov. Jim Doyle was still in office, leaders of the state Department of Natural Resources and Public Service Commission objected to EPA’ s move to regulate coal ash, saying Wisconsin had already demonstrated its ability to regulate ash.
But the ash that fell into the lake during Monday’s bluff collapse was not from one of the regulated ash landfills that are present on the 1,400 acre site of the Oak Creek coal plants.
Instead, the ash was used along with dirt to fill a ravine in the 1950s, We Energies said.
We Energies also has objected to the regulation by EPA of coal ash, primarily because the utility has been able to recycle virtually all of its coal ash, which is used as a material in road beds as well as in asphalt and concrete, utility spokesman Brian Manthey said.
“The disposal of ash at that time was nowhere near what the practice is today,” Manthey said.
A move to end utilities’ re-use of coal ash would result in the need to have build more landfills to store the coal ash, he said. The same point was made by state DNR officials at a coal ash regulation hearing last year, noting the difficulty in finding sites for landfills.Bluff collapse came weeks after Congress rebuffed EPA on coal ash rule

Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan and John Boehner are merely the frontline to a batallion of corrupt politicians who have become warriors for the 1% instead of representatives for the people. There are Democrats who are equally to blame, but the Republican party as a whole, has been hijacked by the anti-American Tea Party and have fought against shared sacrifice, financial regulations, and closing tax loopholes, even in the face of hurting the poorest and weakest among us.
