From the belmingly obvious department comes news that Sega are working on a version of Virtua Tennis that'll work with Microsoft's new Natal motion sensing technology - my guess is that it'll be slightly more realistic than Wii Tennis.
Maybe they'll have that creepy CG boy shouting "C'mon Tim!" in that sort of half-hearted way they do at Wimbledon? From the belmingly obvious department comes news that Sega are working on a version of... more

Over the weekend, 1UP’s Sam Kennedy ran quite the juicy rumor: That “Project Natal”, Microsoft’s controller-less motion control technology, would be the cornerstone to a new Microsoft’s console that would launch next year.
According to Microsoft, however, this rumor has no basis in fact. Eurogamer contacted a couple of representatives for the company, who flatly denied the rumor.
“Don’t believe nonsense on the internet is all I’ll say. We’ll do the right thing for Natal,” a senior Microsoft spokesperson said.
Aaron Greenberg, director of product management, was less blunt, saying that he thinks “part of the excitement about this announcement is that in many ways we are delivering a next generation experience this generation. With that said, I can confirm that Natal will run on Xbox 360 so no new console investment will be necessary.”Over the weekend, 1UP’s Sam Kennedy ran quite the juicy rumor: That... more

* Turning your console on – Imagine having a key phrase you used for turning your console on? This would one up the Bluetooth technology that has made PlayStation 3 peripherals so sexy and easy to use. You hit the PS button, your PS3 turns on and you’re ready to go. Imagine you used a word like…”Natal” as your pass-code to turn your console on and that did it, it’s the ultimate lazy man’s dream and it definitely one-up’s the sexiness of Bluetooth.
* Playing Games – You can use the motion sensing to play whatever game as well as the voice recognition to manage things verbally that would pretty much require less button’s and allow you to focus on your movement more in games that require this sort of action.
* Web Browsing – Now, this one can be tricky and you could very well have to spell out your words, but it beats typing them out with a keyboard that you would have to purchase separately and would be a very convenient step into the next generation. On top of that, the motion controls can be a mouse, so you just point, click and talk….you can’t beat that.
* Music – Imagine going into your music library on your console and listening to your favorite song by just saying the name. Top that with even saying stop, pause, shuffle etc. and it eliminates having to use a remote altogether except for the gaming aspect.
* Movie Playback – The same idea that was covered in the music area except using it with your movie library and just managing the content on your hard-drive space.* Turning your console on – Imagine having a key phrase you used for turning... more

With all the hubbub about Natal there hasn’t been much mention of the lack of real time demos. Furthermore much of the demonstrations we have seen have not really proven the controllers alleged abilities. Tonight on the Late Show with Jimmy Fallon, Natal was demonstrated before a live studio audience. Oddly enough Jimmy and the other guys playing with the device were all dressed in orange jumpsuits. With all the hubbub about Natal there hasn’t been much mention of the lack of... more

To start off with Microsoft have just showcased their new games and ideas. Big changes are the Xbox 360 live applications as well as a brand new way of controlling the games.
The Beatles Rock Band game looked good which we got a demo of which well, looked like a rock band game. New songs, so should be good.
New Tony Hawks game for the Skating fans. Doesn't look bad at all. This has a new skateboard controller like the Wii fit to balance your weight to be able to skate around. The board moves like a real bored and you can grab and do all the basic moves on it in real life!!
Modern Warfare 2 is coming out. First person shooter. Also with some realistic tasks to do in game. For example in the demo we were shown to ice climb up a mountain. Also had a cool flip out screen gun, like a camera with your radar on.
Final Fantasy 13 was shown for the first time running on the Xbox 360. They have updated their fighting display and now has more options to offer. This also shows special moves such as summoning monsters.
We have a new Forza game coming to Xbox as well a new side scroller game that looks pretty cool made by Epic called Shadow Complex.Joy Ride is new free game to play. Also a nice preview of a new game called Alan Wake which appeared to be a Resident Evil 4 style of game. This involves live narration as you are going through and focuses in on the story a lot which looks pretty interesting.
Also we have a new Tom Clancy game which was shown to be looking good. It is a cool new sandbox style game like Hit man where you go around trying to take out targets do missions etc. One cool thing about this game is all the cut scenes and objectives are projected on to in game walls as you move around.
We have a new game which is a prequel to Halo 3 (Halo: Reach) where you go through the past and look at how the story came to be through many different characters eyes. Boasts about a heads up display that looks like a cool concept.
A new Metal Gear Solid game is being released on the Xbox 360, not about solid snake but about Raiden. A quick trailer was shown on this but no solid game play. Looked good. We will have to wait for more on that. Exclusive lost from Sony there.
Xbox live you can now watch a few Sky channels on there which looks good. You can also create a virtual living room style to watch things with your friends on there such as sports since they are showing sky sports on there as well as a few other Sky channels.
There is a new Twitter and Facebook applications which are basically versions of the website simply made for the Xbox. You can now add people's Xbox live accounts through Facebook by linking up your profiles
Also they have a deal with Last FM so you can now listen to loads of music on there. Also there is also a movie store which you can now watch 1080p HD movies on there without downloading them to save time.
They then announced their new control system of the Xbox, called Natal, which has done away with the controller. It does look absolutely amazing. You can use body motions to work your way through interfaces and play games where the game recognises your entire body. This is a dig at the Wii because if the game does work as well as it looks then the Wii is in trouble. We saw a paint application which looked amazing where someone was throwing paint at a board and also we saw a game in the style of breakout but using your body. Your body can be sensed in a 3d environment and can detect your face and will automatically log you in when it sees your face.
We were also show from Lionhead Studios a new virtual boy who can be spoken to using their new system and can recognise your voice as well as your movements using the new style of interaction. This looked cool no live demo's yet but we saw a video of what it is meant to be like.
Its looking good for Microsoft and it is a good opening act. This will be a tough act to follow for Sony and Nintendo but hopefully they will have come up with something good.To start off with Microsoft have just showcased their new games and ideas. Big changes... more
