"I have a few great pieces of info to share with you this morning. Last week we crossed 5b downloads. This next thing is my favorite stat of the whole show. You know we give 70% of revenue to developers. So how much have we paid? To date? Just a few days ago we crossed $1b." Wow, ha. A check made out to "developers" for a billion!

At this morning’s WWDC keynote Zynga CEO Mark Pincus announced that FarmVille will be coming to the iPhone. The insanely popular Facebook game will soon be playable on the go with access to the same farm and the same friends list as the web version. It might not look as nice but it will feature an in-game (in-app?) store along with push notifications for harvesting and other activities in the game. The in-game store will have exclusive items for the iPhone like a Snow Leopard in honor of Apple’s OS. You can say all you want to about iPhone games but integrating an online web based game with a mobile device is pretty awesome. The app is slated to launch at the end of June.At this morning’s WWDC keynote Zynga CEO Mark Pincus announced that FarmVille... more

Steve Jobs and Apple did what we all knew they were going to do today. Introduce the next iPhone which is officially called, iPhone 4.
The iPhone 4, which will cost 199 (£137) and 299 (£206) dollars in the US with a two-year AT&T contract, depending on the capacity.
The iPhone 3GS, which debuted last year, will still be available.
Some of the mystery surrounding Apple's latest creation had been punctured in April, when tech blog Gizmodo bought a lost iPhone prototype for £3,400 and posted pictures of the unit.
One of the most noticeable changes is the iPhone's new camera on the front that can be used for video conferencing, in addition to a five-megapixel camera and a flash on the back.
Come check out the features.

So besides being told about the new Snow Leopard OS, new iPhone 3GS and OS 3.0 AND the new 13" Unibody Macbooks, developers at this year's WWDC got a super tasty treat - a 'pulsating 'app store hyperwall.'
Basically, the bods at Apple built a wall out of Cinema Displays which then pulsed 'in sync with each and every App Store download.'
Check it out, it's seriously cool! There's more pics and video at the link.So besides being told about the new Snow Leopard OS, new iPhone 3GS and OS 3.0 AND the... more

That's 3GS and not 3Gs. The S stands for Speed.
"Apple's unveiled a new iPhone today at WWDC, the iPhone 3GS -- the "s" stands for speed. It's much, much faster than the 3G -- some tasks are almost four times faster. Data speeds are upped to 7.2Mbps HSDPA, and the camera is now a 3 megapixel unit with autofocus and auto white balance -- and just as expected, it now supports 30fps VGA video recording. Oh, but there are surprises, too -- holding down the home button now enables a new voice control interface."

I love the possibility of a physical shutter button.. hate the touch-screen one!
-----
We heard the rumor before, but now the Financial Times has sources that say, "Apple plans to introduce a cheaper version of its popular iPhone as soon as Monday, in a move that could dramatically increase the company's share of the market for Web-surfing devices."
Different guesses are being made around the Web as to what price it will be pegged at--assuming it's real--but here's mine: $99, and 4GB of memory aboard. That's the magic price point. Any less, and you risk losing some of the iPhone's high-end cachet, any more and it's too close to the iPhone's current $199 price.
Leaked Pics: Camera Shutter Button?
More detailed images have surfaced than the ones we saw the other day, and there's a lot of consistency here: The black bezel and the bottom-mounted headphone socket being the two most prominent features.
But the new pics also hint at one more very interesting feature, a side-mounted button that's perfectly placed to act as a camera shutter release. If this turns out to be true, it's a brilliant move. The new iPhone's supposed to have a better 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera, and one of the main criticisms leveled against the old app was its tricky touch-screen shutter. Adding a physical button that is perfectly placed when the phone's held in landscape position would position the iPhone as even more of a multi-purpose device.
There's a mystery in the images too: A slot at the top of the phone's face. That tallies with earlier leaks from an iPhone parts manufacturer. But in the photo the existing speaker-grille slot is there too--is there some repurposing going on? Will the front-facing camera peep through one of these holes? Is it a boost to the iPhone's quiet loudspeaker mode? Is it just some Photoshop trickery?

Even without Steve Jobs emceeing, this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference sold out in record time. Hopes are running high for products that the secretive corporation will unveil at the conference next week. Rumors about new iPhones, upgraded MacBooks and a highly anticipated touchscreen tablet abound, and there’s even gossip about a possible partnership with Verizon.
But as wonderful as all those items sound, they remain unconfirmed by Apple. And frankly, some of the rumors sound too good to be true.
What should we realistically expect? The following is a list of everything Wired.com has heard about WWDC, accompanied by our analysis on which rumored announcements will or will not become a reality.
We’re confident that Apple will introduce an iPhone upgrade at WWDC — it would be a perfectly logical move because Apple announced the current iPhone 3G at WWDC 2008. Also, it would be ideal for Apple to unveil the iPhone at the event so it can hold WWDC sessions on any new hardware APIs (the rumored digital compass, for example).
We saved the most obvious for last. Apple said in a press release that it plans to preview new features and APIs for its next-generation operating systems iPhone 3.0 and Mac OS X Snow Leopard. For iPhone, expect Apple to lay out the final roadmap for the iPhone 3.0 software developer kit, speaking more extensively on the features we previously wrote about. For Snow Leopard, Apple will likely nerd out about the OS’ optimization for supporting multi-core processors (i.e., Grand Central).Even without Steve Jobs emceeing, this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference... more
