Along with the recently announced Warcraft movie, it seems another video game is being converted into a motion picture. This time it is EA's spooky third person shooter Dead Space. Here are the details:
"The Electronic Arts hit vidgame "Dead Space" is on course to become a sci-fi/horror film, with "Eagle Eye" helmer D.J. Caruso attached to direct.
EA will produce the film with Temple Hill partners Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey.
The producers, EA and Caruso have been listening to takes from prospective screenwriters, and once they set a writer and EA signs off on a creative direction, they will auction the property to studios. That will likely happen in early September."

Shia LaBeouf, in a recent interview with Wizard magazine, expressed his doubts of him starring in Y: The Last Man . LaBeouf has been linked to the the project for a while. However with production insight, director DJ Caruso and writer Carl Ellsworth are ready to bring the comic book tale by Brian K. Vaughn to life.
The story is basically about Yorick, a young guy escape artists who finds that he's the last man alive on Earth after a plague kills every male, and every male animal, on the planet except for Yorick and his pet monkey Ampersand. He soon becomes a target pretty much everyone he goes.
LaBeouf looked like a perfect actor to play Yorick role, but now states, "You take Sam Witwicky, and you put a monkey on his shoulder. I don't know if it's that big a differential. It seems like he's the ordinary guy in an extraordinary situation again.
He added, "I'm not willing to make that movie currently, and may be too old to play the role by the time it does come around."
This could mean that he may not be part of the project.Shia LaBeouf, in a recent interview with Wizard magazine, expressed his doubts of him... more
