...San Francisco is a funny town when it comes to local bands. Seems as though SF audiences have either seen it all and so aren’t moved by live music in general, or they are simply aloof or too-cool-for-school to show enthusiasm for the bands they’ve paid to see. With few exceptions, this is what I thought for a long time … until I saw Here Come the Saviours. Turns out SF crowds not only recognize when a band truly kicks ass, they fill venues, and show their love to those chosen few bands that truly rock out and have skills. And SF audiences love Here Come the Saviours...

“Hot Black” is the hot new animated music video that was written and hand-drawn by Ofir Sasson for HotBlack, a track by Ontario’s indie band Oceanship from their eponymous debut album. Starring Little Sheep and Big Wolf, the animation sadly confirms the poor wolf’s most terrible fear, namely that it’s not what it looks like…it’s even worse! Furthermore, you should set your sights very carefully when aiming for revenge, otherwise you might end up losing everything you had.
This piece includes a number of illustrations, as well as the animated music video, “Hot Black.”
Please visit my website to view the pictures, as well as to watch this unusual, engaging music video:

Burning the debut video from Dark Every Day's new 2010 CD release Project Burning. Burning was filmed in the ruins of an abandoned 1930's gas station in Houston's historic 4th Ward, by noted director W. Ross Wells of ZenFilm. The location...from all signs...is used as a half hearted shelter by homeless folks and there was much decoration by underground artists, taggers and an occasional missionary with a paint brush. Footage was filmed on a damp and cloudy day and along with the chosen site, provided a solid texture for Burning, literally setting the stage for the song, by creating an uncomfortable, edgy environment, both symbolizing and complimenting the lyrics. Having filmed throughout the day, the band belted out their hit single Burning until the Houston police forced them to shut down camp. Fortunately for Wells and the Dark Every Day boys, filming had just completed!

A choice is yours to make. Or is it?? Sometimes people make a choice because it's instilled in their brain, but, is that what the right choice is to make......? Does fate have the outcome as we battle with what we think is right or wrong? The path is already there for us to walk. It's a matter of how we walk it.

Beyond being known for their powerful live performances, Twisted Roots has always been a band that evolved with each and every release. Their latest offering "Vol 1" is no exception to the rules either. Described as a cross between early Black Sabbath, STP, and the Stone Temple Pilots, the bands first single "Hollow Earth" has been gaining steady airplay on both terrestrial and internet radio stations across the country.
Twisted Roots "Hollow Earth" pays homage to the legend of the "hollow earth"... a second subterranean earth populated by an advanced civilization. The Hollow Earth video puts an unusual but exciting spin on this story. Without giving too much away... the story is told through the eyes of the denizens of the Hollow Earth. The video is produced by Zenfilm and is was shot on locations both above and below Houston, TX. Twisted Roots flew to Texas for the performance portion of the video which was filmed on a specially equipped Houston Soundstage. The narrative portion of the film was shot in the labyrinthine tunnels beneath Houston's multimillion square foot George R. Brown Convention Center... this location was dressed to recreate the lives of our two young protagonists and denizens of the Hollow Earth. The world premier of this HD video is scheduled to be released in early June 09 and run will appear on most major music networks shortly there after.
The video is being lensed by the award winning creative team of director W. Ross Wells and cinematographer Wayne Forster who have created a number of national and internationally released music videos for a variety of recording artists.
