Natomas school officials are going door to door with a traveling nurse to give whooping cough shots to unvaccinated students.
A new state law requires students entering seventh through 12th grades to get vaccinated against the disease by the start of the 2011-12 school year.
The legislature gave districts 30 days beyond the start of the school year to make sure all students were vaccinated or had a formal exemption filed by their parents or guardians.
As the deadline passes, thousands of students remain unvaccinated. Many school districts have been defying state law and allowing them on campus.
But not anymore in Natomas.
District Student Services Director Heyman Matlock has been driving door to door to find unvaccinated students. Despite warnings and several free clinics, dozens of students haven't been inoculated.
"There could be some family dynamics where they're having hardships in the house and this isn't a top priority in them making it day to day," Matlock said.
District superintendent Walt Hanline, who made the decision to allow unvaccinated students on campus, said the law forced school officials to make a difficult choice.
"The state law said I couldn't have these children on campus, but the state law also said I have to educate children," Hanline said.
By 4 p.m. Friday, officials had visited a dozen homes and vaccinated six students, whose parents were home to give permission.
The group will continue to go door to door until they can reach all the students.
Beginning Monday, students who haven't been vaccinated will not be allowed on campus.
District officials said they'll continue making home visits until every child is accounted for and able to go back in the classroom.

Even scientists who helped develop the vaccine say THEY ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT AND URGE THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY NOT TO TAKE IT EITHER, says Wayne Madsen, an investigative journalist and RT contributor.
A reliable source in Canada has informed us that “the vaccine for influenza A (H1N1) contained the chip. There is no other reason for such a vaccine to be mandatory on a global scale. Influenza A naturally does not exist. It is scientifically proven that no viruses exist simultaneously in humans and animals. The viruses are created in a laboratory by a process of reverse transciptase; being purely artificial and completely distorted, they cannot survive in vivo. Moreover, such a virus can not replicate in humans or animals or be transmitted from one individual to another.”
On September 23, 2009, the Secretary of Health declared an outbreak of the H1N1 (swine flu) influenza virus and a shortage of mercury-free H1N1 vaccines. The declaration also temporarily suspends the state's mercury limits for certain mercury-containing H1N1 vaccines. The six-month suspension is effective September 23, 2009 through March 23, 2010 and applies only to H1N1 vaccines.
The most commonly used vaccine preservative is called Thimerosal. Here’s what the FDA has to say about it: “Thimerosal is a mercury-containing organic compound (an organomercurial). Since the 1930s, it has been widely used as a preservative in a number of biological and drug products, including many vaccines, to help prevent potentially life threatening contamination with harmful microbes. Over the past several years, because of an increasing awareness of the theoretical potential for neurotoxicity of even low levels of organomercurials and because of the increased number of thimerosal-containing vaccines that had been added to the infant immunization schedule, concerns about the use of thimerosal in vaccines and other products have been raised. Indeed, because of these concerns, the Food and Drug Administration has worked with, and continues to work with, vaccine manufacturers to reduce or eliminate thimerosal from vaccines. Thimerosal has been removed from or reduced to trace amounts in all vaccines routinely recommended for children 6 years of age and younger, with the exception of inactivated influenza vaccine.”
In other words, ‘we know it’s dangerous; So dangerous that we are trying to reduce it or remove it completely from vaccines. But we’re going to go ahead and put it in flu vaccine.’ And of course that includes the swine flu vaccine. And it is in there, I read the label.
Thimerosal is nearly 50% mercury. Now, there is mercury and then there is mercury. Organic mercury – that contained in Thimerosal – is more dangerous than inorganic mercury, as it tends to hang around in the body longer.
Vitamin D is perhaps the single most powerful nutrient in the known universe for preventing influenza, and yet the Obama White House won't dare utter a word about it to the American people, even in the face of a potentially devastating global pandemic that could be largely halted by vitamin D.
They know about vitamin D but they are intentionally withholding information from the American people In essence, they want to keep the American people nutritionally illiterate so that they remain "victims" in the coming influenza crisis. Because of who's involved in this (the White House, FDA, CDC, WHO and many others), it cannot be called anything other than a conspiracy of silence about influenza and vitamin D.

Health care workers in Hauppauge screamed "No forced shots!" as they rallied Tuesday against the state regulation requiring them to roll up their sleeves.
"I don't even tend to the sick. I am in the nutrition field. They are telling me I must get the shot because I work in a health clinic setting," said Paula Small, a Women, Infants and Children health care worker.
Small said she will refuse, worried the vaccine is untested and unproven, leaving her vulnerable. In 1976, there were some deaths associated with a swine flu vaccination.
Registered nurse Frank Mannino, 50, was also angry. He said the state regulation violates his personal freedom and civil rights.Health care workers in Hauppauge screamed "No forced shots!" as they rallied... more

A few years ago I entered into a discussion with a close friend regarding vaccination. This person stated that their child was not up to date with state recommended vaccinations and was debating internally whether or not she felt they were necessary. Without being asked my opinion, my reaction was quite strong in favor of vaccination and I made common claims that vaccinations were for the ‘common social good’ and that we all had to ‘do our part for society.’ Days later I thought back on the encounter and was surprised at how undiplomatically I pursued this argument. I had never researched vaccines, the potential health benefits or risks, or sought information from a variety of sources as one would commonly do before making an argument on any important subject. Regardless of our differing opinions I was only able to bring to the discussion force to try to convince her of my opinion – I offered no information, cited no facts or statistics in my debate – the apparent ‘will of the people’ which my ignorance represented was argument enough. Was this enough to base a decision on concerning the health and well-being of a child?
In 2006 I found out that I was going to be a father. A close friend of mine suggested I do some research on vaccines and sent me information from a variety of sources. At the time I was sure vaccination was the route to go, despite the fact I still had no solid information, facts or research to base my opinion on – only the widely accepted idea that vaccines were responsible for ridding western society from small pox, polio as well as many other diseases and that any child without his shots was a threat to the health of all of us and furthermore that the parent was being irresponsible. These ideas were backed up by the media and rest of society. But I became utterly consumed with the topic, buying many books, watching documentaries, listening to lectures, looking at University studies and reading articles from many countries. It is safe to say I spent hundreds of hours on the subject looking at information from a vast array of sources – pro & con vaccine.
Needless to say when I really dove into the subject, I was alarmed at the amount of conventional medical history and government statistics that showed both the ineffectiveness and oftentimes outright harm that vaccinations could cause. As a member of society that deemed all children without shots as somehow a threat to its well being, and would bar them from the school yard as well as brand any parent who did not agree with them a heretic, I’d never been offered contrary information about the effectiveness of shots by primary education or the media who advocate them. What about the other side? Did I not deserve the best information with which to make an informed decision by?
In my basic understanding from school or mainstream media such as TV, I’d been taught about the miracle findings of Jonas Salk & Albert Sabin with their polio ‘cures’ – but had I been taught about SV-40? No. SV-40 is the 40th simian virus which was discovered in the monkey kidneys used to manufacture the polio vaccine (yes most vaccines are from monkey, chicken or bovine organs or tissue). For a period of years and debatably decades until the 1990’s, polio vaccines were administered by law (and thereby force) that at the time unknowingly contained SV-40 to millions of people. SV-40 undoubtedly causes cancer in many animals, and many controversial studies have shown it does the same in humans. Was I given this information? No. Was I taught about contraindications? No. Contraindications are health concerns such as family history of autoimmune or neurological disorders, allergies that conflict with vaccines and can cause minor or major reactions. With a family history of severe autoimmune disorders and an undiagnosed neurological episode of my own as a teenager this information could be critical to me.
