I’ll be perfectly honest here when I say that I’d totally forgotten that Singularity even existed until recently. I suppose that’s part of the danger when games get announced too far ahead of their release; Singularity was first revealed at E3 2008, if you recall.
Still, this new trailer reminds us of the promise this game could have if Raven Software manages to accurately find the right balance between the neatness of the time-twisting powers and a tight, solid FPS. We certainly wouldn’t protest a bit of story either!
Either way, enjoy this new trailer, dubbed “Last Resort.” Singularity is due June 29th, 2010 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

When I started to review Wolfenstein, I was actually a little excited. Being a non-PC gamer, not having a SNES until after the system had pretty much finished off, and also not getting an Xbox until just about that console was done, I seemed to have avoided playing any Wolfenstein game until now.
We all know that Wolfenstein 3D is the forefather of first person shooters, above Quake, above Doom, etc. Well, I think unlike Doom and Quake’s attempts to stay current with their last efforts, Wolfenstein really surprised me by being not only up to par with what current FPS games are offered, but is quite better than most.
The background to this title is Nazi’s are bad, kill them. The story to the game pretty much follows you, a special agent, finding some Nazi dark force experimental stuff. Gaming blog Kotaku is reporting that the singleplayer developers for Wolfenstein, Raven Software have now been hit with a massive lay off now that the release of Wolfenstein and X-Men Origins: Wolverine earlier this summer is complete. Check it out:
Raven Software, developers of recently released Wolfenstein and soon to be released Singluarlity, let 30 to 35 go from their Wisconsin studios, sources tell Kotaku.
In a prepared statement released to Kotaku today, Activision confirmed that Raven, a subsidiary of the company, had laid people off today, but declined to confirm or deny the number of people impacted.

Endrant Studios, the company hired to develop the multiplayer portion of Raven Software's Wolfenstein has announced company layoffs. On the day their first game releases none the less. Check it out:
UK based Endrant Studios had been co-developing Wolfenstein with Raven Software, and it was the first title by the team since forming in July 2008.

Activision has announced the first graphic novel of Raven's upcoming first person action game, Singularity. Check it out:
In collaboration with Twistory Studios and Image Publishing, industry veterans David Atchinson, of the Occult Times Taskforce, Davide Fabbri, with credits from Heavy Metal and Dark Horse's Star Wars, Christopher "mink" Morrison, whose narrative works include, Dust, 13 Chambers and Dark Horse's upcoming Shinjuku with Yo****aka Amano, and Tom Mandrake, a renowned artist of Batman and The Punisher, will tell the story of the shadowy events, which occurred off the Russian Peninsula, that unraveled time as we know it and ultimately led to the Singularity. The single issue graphic novel will be available following the launch of Singularity the game.
