Instead of Pierce Brosnan as the shaken but not stirred British secret agent, the game’s protagonist has been updated to be Daniel Craig, the newest Bond, and likewise M, the ever so clever boss of James, now resembles the likeness of Dame Judi Dench. Other than those two adjustments, and some graphical and audio updates, the game is pretty much the same awesome first-person shooter I remember as a kid and follows the original story almost to the tee. (Soundtrack Spotlight is a weekly CFD! feature devoted to all things VGM. Every week we celebrate the best in-game music, highlight new releases and forgotten tracks, and bring you the best in auditory awesomeness.)
By now users of Steam, Valve Software’s extremely popular game distribution platform, are all used to being spoiled absolutely rotten; not a week goes by without some sort of stupidly good deal gracing the front page of the Steam store. Perhaps you were one of the deft many that were fortunate enough to snag The Orange Box for a grand total of ten dollars last year, or maybe you fell prey to one of the many seductive deals this past holiday season.
Either way, the fact of the matter is that Steam has a penchant for bundling great games and selling them at irresistible prices, and this past week was certainly no exception.
Recently, the Steam store ran a 50%-off deal on all of its available Rockstar games, including Grand Theft Auto 1-3, GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, GTA: IV and the recently released GTA: Episodes from Liberty City. Also nestled deep into that package is Bully, Rockstar’s school-based sandbox game, and the main focus of this week’s Soundtrack Spotlight.
