'Barely two hours after being formally sentenced to 48 days in jail in connection with his September arrest for driving under the influence, the Emmy winner reported to Glendale City Jail to start serving his time, E! Online has confirmed.
"Mr. Sutherland is very polite and humble. He was very cooperative during the booking process," jail spokesman Officer John Balian said.'
This should prepare him well for next season's 24! Ha!

Could divergent sleep patterns signal doom for Lindsay Lohan and her snowboarder beau Riley Giles, whom she met during her last stint in rehab? That's the word from the New York Post, which claims the 12-stepping twosome maintained very different schedules while visiting LiLo's function-challenged, Long Island-based family over Thanksgiving.
Riley, it seems, was eager to test out that whole "city that never sleeps" thing, leading him to snooze late, while the leggings- and bronzer-addicted starlet preferred daytime shopping trips with her mom, little sister and the paparazzi.
"Riley was not very well behaved when he came back to New York with Lindsay," a snitch snipes to the paper. "He was out every night without her, and I'm not sure how much longer that relationship is going to last."
But is Giles having his own doubts about the longevity of their love? So says the Chicago Sun-Times, which claims he's confided to pals that he's unsure if their couple-y status "will last through Christmas."

Britney Spears' decisions haven't gone down very well in the press this year. First she decided to hit the town without knickers on and flash gathered paparazzi as she climbed out of the car. Then, oops, she did it again. And again. As expected, it didn't help her already strained relations with the press.
Then she chose to shave all her hair off, flip out a few times at photographers and take K-Fed on in the courts in a failed battle to keep custody of her kids . Cue more media mauling.
Now it seems she's decided to adopt Chinese twins and is reportedly in the latter stages of talks with adoption agencies. The News Of The World reports that "friends feel that Britney has decided to adopt the two six-year-old tots from China in a frantic bid to fill the void left by losing her sons to Kevin Federline."
Is Britney just setting herself up for another fall? If Christina Aguilera was doing this, the press would be mainly positive but this is Britney - the same woman who's gone through a very public and tragically messy fall from grace, all in front of the world's media. "I didnt drink until I was 25, and I never drank every day, but when I did, it was bad. It would be a couple of days that just wouldnt work out for me, waking up with a hangover. Drinking doesnt fit into the groove of where my life is going.
