This year 3 of Ibiza's main clubs (Amnesia, Bora Bora and DC-10) were closed down in the opening month of the club season in a bid by authorities to force them to tackle drug-dealing and consumption among clubbers. How effective has this been and how important is drug taking to the Ibiza clubbing experience? Will a serious clampdown effect tourism? How difficult is it for the police to deal with the drug situation and are they understaffed to tackle it?This year 3 of Ibiza's main clubs (Amnesia, Bora Bora and DC-10) were closed down... more

Another study has come out proving that the fate of your relationship is actually in the hands of your age differential, parental history, smoking habits, and bank account. Being "in love" isn't nearly enough, concluded the hopeless romantics.
Sometimes though, I think that when it comes to guys, the time in life when you come across them is a bigger determining factor about if they are "in love" or not. Maybe its just me.
From Reuters:
"SYDNEY (Reuters Life!) - Living happily ever after needn't only be for fairy tales. Australian researchers have identified what it takes to keep a couple together, and it's a lot more than just being in love.
A couple's age, previous relationships and even whether they smoke or not are factors that influence whether their marriage is going to last, according to a study by researchers from the Australian National University.
The study, entitled "What's Love Got to Do With It," tracked nearly 2,500 couples -- married or living together -- from 2001 to 2007 to identify factors associated with those who remained together compared with those who divorced or separated.
It found that a husband who is nine or more years older than his wife is twice as likely to get divorced, as are husbands who get married before they turn 25.
Children also influence the longevity of a marriage or relationship, with one-fifth of couples who have kids before marriage -- either from a previous relationship or in the same relationship -- having separated compared to just nine percent of couples without children born before marriage.
Women who want children much more than their partners are also more likely to get a divorce.
A couple's parents also have a role to play in their own relationship, with the study showing some 16 percent of men and women whose parents ever separated or divorced experienced marital separation themselves compared to 10 percent for those whose parents did not separate.
Also, partners who are on their second or third marriage are 90 percent more likely to separate than spouses who are both in their first marriage.
Not surprisingly, money also plays a role, with up to 16 percent of respondents who indicated they were poor or where the husband -- not the wife -- was unemployed saying they had separated, compared with only nine percent of couples with healthy finances.
And couples where one partner, and not the other, smokes are also more likely to have a relationship that ends in failure.
Factors found to not significantly affect separation risk included the number and age of children born to a married couple, the wife's employment status and the number of years the couple had been employed.
The study was jointly written by Dr Rebecca Kippen and Professor Bruce Chapman from The Australian National University, and Dr Peng Yu from the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs."Another study has come out proving that the fate of your relationship is actually in... more

A German brothel is going green in a bid to attract more business in tough economic times.
Customers who arrive by bicycle at Berlin's Maison d'Envie will receive a five-euro ($7, £4.30) discount on the usual fee of 70 euros.
The discount also applies to those who can prove they took public transport to get there, owner Thomas Goetz said.
"It's good for business, it's good for the environment and it's good for the girls," he said.
The recession had hit his industry hard, he told the Reuters news agency. But he said that the offer did appear to be working.
"We have around three to five new customers coming in daily to take advantage of the discount," he said.
And, he added, it had helped ease traffic congestion and free up parking in the neighbourhood.

Men's health magazine just printed the top ten ways to tell your girlfriend she's fat. Below are five. You know what? Usually, for me, its the other way around and I don't worry about it.
From Jezebel.com:
"Isn't it a total drag, bro, when the woman you supposedly love gains weight? Instead of perhaps considering that she's aware of the issue, or perhaps wondering if there are health concerns or emotional reasons behind a sudden weight gain, Ask Men thinks you should approach the subject of your beloved's body by humiliating her as often as possible. Isn't that just the sweetest thing, girlfriends?! It's like Irving pushing Cathy into a shark-infested ocean and yelling, "This will help you prepare for swimsuit season next summer, as I know how emotionally difficult it is for you!" Charming.
Below, a break down of Ask Men's Top Ten "Subtle" ways to fat-shame your girlfriend into losing weight:
No.1 - Take her to places where she has to wear a swimsuit
If she seems content staying at home eating donuts in her track pants, why not start taking her to places where she has no choice but to where a swimsuit? As she awkwardly looks around at all the slender bodies having a great time, she'll more than likely vow to do something about her recent weight gain, especially if she knows she'll be back there in the not-so-distant future.
No.2 - Leave "now" and "then" photos lying around
This is a highly effective way to draw attention to the explicit changes to her body as you see them. By consistently reminding her of how she used to look, she'll inevitably be more inclined to do something about her excess flab. Appropriately chosen and strategically placed photos should accomplish this quite nicely. Keep in mind, if she confronts you about trying to shame her into losing weight, the key approach here is denial, as you reply: "Do you actually think I would be that manipulative?" Of course you would, but she doesn't need to know that.
No.3 - Sabotage her chair
Sometimes as men we have to get downright nefarious to get what we want. You might not be proud of stooping to this level, but nothing says "better lose some weight" like a broken chair. After you loosen a few screws or remove some important slats of a chair in which you know she'll sit and subsequently break, sit back and watch the guaranteed dietary transformation that ensues. It will profoundly amaze you.
No.4 - Ask her to wear an old dress
Plan a romantic night out for the two of you and insist that she wears something from when you first got together; particularly something that you know doesn't fit her anymore. This way she'll have to admit to you that she's put on too much weight and can no longer get into many of her old clothes. Follow it up by telling her how good she looked in those days, and maybe she'll make it her mission to get back to that size.
No.5 - Playfully grab her love handles
Ask any man and he'll tell you that he instinctively flexes his biceps whenever a woman touches them. The same thing goes for a woman when you make contact with any unwanted flab: She recoils and feels embarrassment. Use this reaction to your advantage. Even if she thinks that you're too busy at work to have noticed a few extra pounds, if you continually rest your hand on her love handles (or even lightly pinch them), she'll soon realize that you're becoming increasingly aware of something that never used to be there before."Men's health magazine just printed the top ten ways to tell your girlfriend... more

Through the 1980s, penises were taboo in Hollywood. The first instance of male nudity in a mainstream movie came, thanks to Tom Berenger, in 1991’s At Play in the Fields of the Lord. Films like the Crying Game, Boogie Nights, and Eastern Promises, among others, soon followed. In these movies, penises were often visually shocking, intriguing, unsettling, occasionally erotic, and always meant to be taken seriously. As the novelty wore off, and audiences became more inured to seeing cocks in art house cinema, it became increasingly difficult to escape the truth: The flaccid penis doesn’t convey power or eroticism. It looks like a finger puppet.
Maybe this realization was inevitable. Unlike women’s bodies, male nudity has rarely been appreciated, simply, as beautiful. As Jason Segal, who went full monty in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, put it, "When a woman does nudity in a movie, men immediately switch into a sexual mode. For women, from what I understand, it's not like that. They see a naked, out-of-shape man crying and it's funny—something weird, disturbing and disgusting we can all laugh at." A recent New York Times story on the science of desire found that women, more than men, were turned on by pictures of heterosexual sex, homosexual sex, monkey sex, naked female bodies, and naked male bodies if the fellow in question was erect. Just about the only thing they weren’t turned on by? An attractive man without a boner.
Judd Apatow, the director of films like The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up, has most fully, and successfully, exploited the penis’ lackluster appearance. After inserting an entirely gratuitous dick (his own) into a scene in Walk Hard, a send up of music biopics like Walk the Line, Apatow vowed, “I'm gonna get a penis in every movie I do from now on ... It really makes me laugh in this day and age, with how psychotic our world is, that anyone is troubled by seeing any part of the human body."
But that’s a bit of swagger. Flaccid penises are more than just another body part to Apatow; they’re the perfect metaphor for his characters: sissymen and overgrown boys who willfully avoid growing up and pay for it with their inability to get it up. Erections are what men have—limp dicks belong to the stoners, virgins, and perpetual adolescents that populate (very charmingly) Apatow’s universe.Through the 1980s, penises were taboo in Hollywood.
