Republicans have their futures invested, not only in offshore and unnumbered Swiss bank accounts, but on the failure of President Obama to turn the economy around. When, in heavens’ name, will this torrent of bad tidings cease?
Five straight months, now! For the fifth month in a row, the unemployment rate has dropped! How, in God’s name, is Mitt Romney supposed to keep saying, with a straight face that President Obama’s policies are making things worse?
The Republicans need Obama to fail and fail real hard! They need to show themselves as American’s only salvation, riding to the rescue on a big white (yes, white) horse to save America from the communist, socialist, marxist, fascist, villainous, reckless, Kenyan Indonesian economic policies of this man whose first words to his Communist mother were allgedly “death to America.”
That’s the only reason Obama is improving the economy. To fool you into thinking he cares about you. It’s the same reason former National Rifle Association President Wayne LaPierre gave last September for Obama not pushing gun control. It’s all a massive conspiracyso he can come get your guns in the second term!

Andrea Mitchell Claims Mitt Romney’s Family Entered The Country Illegally
Appearing on The Chris Matthews Show, in a discussion on the upcoming Florida primary, Andrea Mitchell claimed that Mitt Romney‘s relatives entered the United States illegally.
“And looking ahead to the next primary in Florida, 30 percent of the Hispanic community is Cuban-American. That’s a smaller proportion, and so the Hispanic community there is different. And they are less prone to be susceptible to Mitt Romney’s really hard line on immigration, more prone to the Newt Gingrich approach to immigration,” Mitchell observed. “The other interesting little fact is about the Mexican Romneys, those looking back at all of those records say that Mitt Romney should look back at the records because the Romneys that came back from Mexico to the United States, they crossed the border illegally.”
Mitchell’s remarks left conservative columnist Kathleen Parker in stunned silence. “Well, you may have one-upped me on that one, Andrea!” Parker exclaimed incredulously.
RELATED: Mitt Romney Calls For The Deportation Of President Obama’s Uncle
As Newsbusters’ Noel Sheppard notes, it was unclear where Mitchell was basing this claim. Romney’s Mexican roots have been widely reported; this morning, NPR wrote a story about Romney’s Mexican family, but didn’t explore whether his ancestors were documented citizens.
According to NPR’s John Burnett:
In 1912, the Mormons fled their colonies in Mexico to escape the violence of the Mexican revolution.
Miles Park Romney begat Gaskell Romney, who begat George Romney. George — who was never a Mexican citizen — was 5 years old when the family left Mexico. He went on to be an auto executive, governor of Michigan, and a presidential candidate. George begat Mitt, who was born in Detroit.
Most of the Mormons never went back to Mexico. But one of Miles Park’s sons, Miles Archibold, did return. And it is his progeny who remain here today, Mitt’s second cousins.
UPDATE: Burnett told Mediaite he did not come across any documents indicating the Gaskell Romney family came to the US illegally, noting they were part of an exodus of 1,200 Mormons from Mexico.
CNN contributor Ruben Navarrette Jr. explains that Romney’s ancestors crossed into Mexico but never became Mexican citizens:
Romney’s great-grandfather, Miles Park Romney, fled the United States and crossed into Mexico in 1885 to escape religious persecution. He helped build the Mormon enclave of Colonia Juarez in Chihuahua.
Miles Park Romney never became a Mexican citizen, and neither did his son, Gaskell, or grandson, George. They were all denied Mexican citizenship because statutes on the books in Mexico denied that right to American settlers and their offspring.

Pat Buchanan on Tuesday blamed “militant gay rights groups” and former Obama administration official Van Jones for a campaign to oust him from his commentator gig at MSNBC.
MSNBC President Phil Griffin suggested last week that the former Republican presidential candidate had been indefinitely suspended from MSNBC after the publication of his book “Suicide of a Superpower,” which contains chapters titled “The End of White America” and “The Death of Christian America.”
“The reports of my suspension are highly overrated,” Buchanan chuckled to Sean Hannity Tuesday. “In November, I had a medical condition, shakes, fever, chills, and I was in the hospital for 11 days, and pretty big hit. … There’s been no formal notification of anything like that.”
“Look, for a long period of time, the hard left, militant gay rights groups, militant — they call themselves civil rights groups, but I’m not sure they’re concerned about civil rights — people of color, Van Jones, these folks and others have been out to get Pat Buchanan off TV and deny him speeches, get his column canceled,” Buchanan noted, speaking about himself in the third person.
“This has been done for years and years and years. And it’s the usual suspects doing the same thing again. But my view is you write what you believe to be the truth.”
In an email to supporters on Tuesday, Color of Change, an organization co-founded by Jones, credited the more than 275,000 members who signed a petition demanding MSNBC fire Buchanan.
“This is a huge victory for everyone who cares about keeping hateful, racially divisive rhetoric and misinformation out of the mainstream media,” the group wrote.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney asserted on Sunday that his opposition to same sex marriage was not discrimination against gay people.
During a GOP debate in New Hampshire Sunday, WHDH’s Andy Hiller asked Romney, “How have you stood up for gay rights, and when have you used your voice to influence Republicans on this issue?”
“I don’t discriminate,” Romney declared. “And in the appointments that I made when I was governor of Massachusetts, a member of my cabinet was gay.”
“I made it very clear that, in my view, we should not discriminate in hiring policies, in legal policies,” he continued. “At the same time from the very beginning in 1994, I said to the gay community, ‘I do not favor same sex marriage; I oppose same sex marriage.’”

NaturalNews) A post-debate poll shown on MSNBC.com reveals Ron Paul to be the landslide winner of the internet survey, capturing 43.5% of the votes on the question, "Who do you think won the Republican debate at the Reagan library?"
The next closest candidate, Mitt Romney, received just 21.5% of the votes, or almost exactly half the number of votes received by Ron Paul. You might expect Mitt Romney's graph bar, therefore, to be half the size of Ron Paul's right? Nope. These poll results, it turns out, have been radically distorted to diminish the apparent lead of Ron Paul in the poll.

Right now on MSNBC Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough is trying to claim that there is no economic disparity with those that are in the military. He is stating that they are well paid and that they do not have to join the military, there are plenty of college graduates serving. So how many of those that are serving are part of the 1%? How many of those families had had loved ones killed, deformed or mentally scarred because they served in any of our wars?
A vast portion of those that are serving do so because they know that it is a job, a pay check, something that they cannot get at home. As a former service member, both enlisted and as an officer, I am deeply proud of those that serve for whatever reasons that they join. Your reasons soon disappear when you realize how much you depend on the person to your right and left. That there is nothing more important than your unit.
Sometimes wars have to be fought. But regardless of the reason, it is the 99% that fight those wars. Those people deserve all of the benefits that we can give them, whether it is education, low interest loans for housing or starting a business, or to care for them after they have been wounded. We should never quibble over the cost.
November 11th was originally designated to remember the end of the Great War.
That was changed on June 1, 1954 to Veterans Day, in remembrance of all veterans. The original concept for the celebration was for a day observed with parades and public meetings and a brief suspension of business beginning at 11:00 a.m. The purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. To that end, that you all for your past and current service.
A Society for Human Resource Management poll in 2010 found that 21 percent of employers planned to observe the holiday in 2011.[6]
Frank Woodruff Buckles (born Wood Buckles; February 1, 1901 – February 27, 2011) was the last surviving American veteran of World War I.
16,112,566 individuals were members of the United States armed forces during World War II. There were 291,557 battle deaths, 113,842 other deaths in service (non-theater), and 670,846 non-mortal woundings. In May 2011, the Department of Veterans Affairs estimated that approximately 2,079,000 American veterans are still living.
There are 1.2 million Korean War veterans still alive In 1993, the Defense Department listed 33,686 battle deaths, 2,830 non-battle deaths, and 17,730 deaths of Defense Department personnel outside the Korean theatre.[14] There were also 8,142 U.S. personnel listed as Missing In Action (MIA) during the war.
More than 3 million Americans served in the Vietnam War, some 1.5 million of whom actually saw combat in Vietnam.[281] James E. Westheider wrote that "At the height of American involvement in 1968, for example, there were 543,000 American military personnel in Vietnam, but only 80,000 were considered combat troops."[282] Conscription in the United States had been controlled by the President since World War II, but ended in 1973."
By war's end, 58,220 soldiers were killed, more than 150,000 were wounded, and at least 21,000 were permanently disabled. According to Dale Kueter, "Sixty-one percent of those killed were age 21 or younger. The youngest American KIA in the war was PFC Dan Bullock, who had falsified his birth certificate and enlisted in the US Marines at age 14 and who was killed in combat at age 15. Of those killed in combat, 86.3 percent were white, 12.5 percent were black and the remainder from other races." Approximately 830,000 Vietnam veterans suffered symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder.
Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. The DoD reports that U.S. forces suffered 148 battle-related deaths (35 to friendly fire), with one pilot listed as MIA (his remains were found and identified in August 2009). A further 145 Americans died in non-combat accidents. Approximately 250,000[4] of the 697,000 veterans who served in the 1991 Gulf War are afflicted with enduring chronic multi-symptom illness, a condition with serious consequences.
As of August 2, 4,683 Americans have died in Iraq and Afghanistan since the launch of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) on October 7, 2001 and Operation Iraqi Freedom, which began with the invasion of Iraq on March 19, 2003. Of the total deaths, 3,708 were due to hostile fire, and the remainder due to non-hostile actions (such as accident, suicide, or illness). Enlisted personnel make up 83.4% of the total force, and experienced 89.9% (4,212) of the total casualties. Officers (including Warrant Officers) comprise 16.6% of the DOD force and had 10.1% (471) of the casualties.
2.4% (113) of the total fatalities were women, who make up 16% of the total DOD force. Men, who make up 84% of the total force experienced 97.6% (4,570) of the deaths in the two theaters of operation.
Among age groups:
Ages 18-21 -- 28.2% (1,325) of the deaths
Ages 22-24 -- 23.7% (1,108) of the deaths
Ages 25-30 -- 25.6% (1,198) of the deaths
Ages 31-35 -- 10.4% (486) of the deaths
Over 35 -- 12.1% (566) of the deaths
30,490 U.S. service members have been wounded due to combat actions in Iraq and 2,309 in Afghanistan (32,799 total).
Since the beginning of hostilities in Afghanistan in October 2001, more than 1.8 million US troops have served in Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan; OEF) or Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq; OIF), with 37% having deployed at least twice (as of 2009). Studies to date suggest that 10-18% of combat troops serving in OEF/OIF have probable PTSD following deployment, and the ¡prevalence does not diminish over time. PTSD Research Quarterly Winter 2009

African American political advocacy group Color Of Change has called for MSNBC to fire longtime analyst (and even longer-time lightning rod) Pat Buchanan for what it called his "white supremacist ideology."
The advocacy group sent petition letters to its members on Tuesday. The letter said that MSNBC gives Buchanan a platform to pass off his often loaded remarks as "legitimate mainstream political commentary."

There is one thing racists just do not like! Other than minorities, that is. They really do not like minorities. But everyone knows that.
What everyone might not know is that one thing they really hate, other than people whose skin is a different color than theirs, is being called "racists." Nor do they particularly care for it when uppity minorities and negroes and such call one of their fellow prominent racists "racist."
This would explain why Judson Phillips, head of the racist Tea Party Nation, came rushing to racist Pat Buchanan's aid after this column and other progressive writers across the Internet referred to his new book, "Death of a Superpower" as racist and called for MSNBC President Phil Griffin to finally give Pat his walking papers.

MSNBC shouldn't keep this clown around any longer!
http://mediamatters.org/action/buchanan/
Pat Buchanan's bigotry has been on full display these past weeks as he appears across the media promoting his latest book about the harms he thinks America will suffer as it becomes more racially diverse. Buchanan's recent inappropriate remarks are nothing new for him -- they are part of his long history of bigotry. That's why in 2009, the Anti-Defamation League labelled Buchanan an "unrepentant bigot" and warned that he "increasingly demonizes Jews, blacks, and non-white immigrants."
Buchanan is a paid MSNBC analyst. For too long, MSNBC has helped validate his vitriol by giving Buchanan a national platform. But enough is enough. It's time for MSNBC to stop ignoring Buchanan's bigotry.
Please sign the letter to MSNBC's management explaining why they can no longer ignore Buchanan's bigotry and why they must act now.MSNBC shouldn't keep this clown around any longer!... more

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell on Monday condemned the “unprovoked police brutality” that occurred at the “Occupy Wall Street” protest over the weekend.
Video recordings showed female protesters being rounded up in an orange-colored mesh pen by police and subsequently sprayed with mace without any provocation, and other protesters being dragged across the street by police.
“The reason that man is being assaulted by the police is because of what he has in his hand,” O’Donnell said, while showing a video clip of a man with a video camera being tackled by police. “He’s holding a professional grade video camera. Since the Rodney King beating was caught on an amateur video camera, American police officers have known video cameras are their worst enemy. They will do anything they can to stop you from legally videotaping how they handle their responsibility to serve and protect you.”
“Everything those cops did this weekend to those protesters they’ve done to someone else when no video camera was rolling,” he later added.
