When Viggo Mortensen heard that Dennis Kucinich was going to be excluded from the final and most important New Hampshire debate, he hopped on a plane and flew across the country to join the campaign. This isn't your average celebrity endorsement. Viggo speaks with genuine passion and intelligence about the legacy of the Nixon pardon, his concern for the future of America, and the importance of supporting an unflinchingly principled candidate like Kucinich, who he believes best represents the interests of humanity in the long-term.
"If he were going around talking like this to other world leaders, it would just make life easier for everyone on this planet."When Viggo Mortensen heard that Dennis Kucinich was going to be excluded from the... more

I have to state that I am opposed to corn based ethanol, but at least John Edwards is speaking about working towards cellulosic ethanol. And I will be sure to write to him to tell him why we need to make bringing it to our pumps a priority, especially regarding switchgrass which has just been reported to have a major net energy gain in usage which means higher yields, less land use and less water use. Also, he is against nuclear which is definitely in his favor, and his environmental hero is Al Gore, which speaks volumes about his moral purpose. All in all, I would say he is the best candidate on the environment out of the current candidates and for me that gets him my vote come Feb 5th. I just hope his platform is one that would actually get action in this Congress with this status quo. Of course, that now depends on us heeding the words of Nobel laureate Al Gore and others in demanding action and taking it ourselves.//////http://www.johnedwards.com/issues/energy/

It is my prediction. Despite their remarkable journalistic integrity, Fox has ordained Mitt Romney as our next president--in every debate, interview, criticism of opponents--they know Romney is the political, military, and social conservative--the best bet for the Republicans this year. Secondly, they are behind Giuliani.
Like it or not Romney and Giuliani survive.

This letter is not really addressed to the vast majority, the hard core of Ron Paul supporters, it is addressed to anyone who feels despondent about Ron Paul?s New Hampshire showing. Election fraud issues aside, there may be some who feel that there is some degree of failure here since expectations were running so high. You may have the feeling that our efforts have come to nothing and the task is much greater than that which we ever imagined, that we have reached a ceiling somehow. This in some ways is understandable, but represents a colossal misunderstanding of a) the dynamics and rules of the race we are in and b) the bigger picture of what is going on here on a deeper level. This letter is not really addressed to the vast majority, the hard core of Ron Paul... more

After the wild upsets and shocking outcomes of the Iowa and New Hampshire primary elections, all eyes are on South Carolina, and so far, it's too close to call.
"White, college-age kids in South Carolina are flocking to work for Obama, and this was happening before he became popular," said local historian Walter Edgar, acknowledging the lingering racial divide in this former slave state where blacks account for about half of Democratic primary voters.
"These kids' parents are all Southerners. They are card-carrying Republicans," he said.
Among South Carolina's Republicans, an evangelically minded lot who hold their primary on January 19, Huckabee has pulled ahead of the pack with a lead of nearly 13 points in the RealClearPolitics average.
McCain and Mitt Romney are vying for second place, followed by Fred Thompson and Rudolph Giuliani.
"There will not be just one winner in South Carolina. There will be the top two or top three," a Columbia-based Republican insider said. After the wild upsets and shocking outcomes of the Iowa and New Hampshire primary... more

It was the iconic moment of the New Hampshire race: Hillary Clinton, the icy control queen of the Democratic party welling up with emotion - and it may have won her an improbable victory over Barack Obama.
