Rockin' yo' brass off NOLA-style, Fat Tuesday has just barely ended(Wed. 1PM). Bonerama always brings the party. Their a good fit for anyone hungry for that New Orleans funk sound with arena rock roots. Sounds weird, I know. Their originals reflect their roots in the big easy. And their arena rock anthem covers are off the hook!!!; Zepplin, the Allman Bros. and Sabbath with four, five and sometimes six trombones. The Whipping Post on their myspace page is nasty! Two of the Tromboneers are in Harry Connick Jr.s big band. Matt Perrin on Sousaphone/Tuba is a monster, too. The drum kit has been manned by a few badasses, rotating between Russel Baptiste- The Meters, Stanton Moore- Galactic and now Eric Bolivar- Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. All three of their albums are live recordings. Go check these cats out and prepared to be impressed.

Glastonbury boss Michael Eavis says 90% of tickets for this year's festival have already gone, following a change in the way tickets were sold. Tickets have gone on sale much earlier for 2009's event, after last year's festival unexpectedly didn't sell out until the last minute.
Eavis also confirmed that four headliners are in place - two of them British and two of them American. Rumoured to be leading the event on the three nights are Blur, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young. The line-up announcement is traditionally delayed to allow bands to sell out their own tours first, in reflection of the "very little money" they get for playing Glastonbury.
I'm still weighing up whether to go. I've been to the last six in a row but given the hassle of getting there, the steep cost of a ticket and the ever-expanding choice of alternatives, I'm less tempted this year.
