A word very commonly used to describe women. Obviously not any woman, but then again, used much too often if you ask me. Unless it’s a passing comment, an enquiry from a male friend about a female friend the first has never seen or an adjective in a men’s mag Top 100, this might spark a long discussion over the semantics of this seemingly simple word.
It is oh-so necessary to a) differentiate between hot and cute (and also pretty, beautiful, attractive, etc) and b) know what the word means to y o u before throwing it around. Yes, it is.
From a simplified viewpoint, hot is supposed to be pretty straight-forwardly directed to anything sexual: advertising, men’s magazines, action movie heroines (not about too much depth, those ones), porn, and so on. So when describing someone as hot, it would ideally indicate sexual interest. From then onwards, it’s a matter of personal taste - added perks of big breasts, excess show of skin, leather and latex, facial expression or pose can all make someone seem hot-TER. As opposed to beautiful, which indicates aesthetic pleasure in watching or seeing someone, or cute, which opens a whole new semantic field, swaying towards playful or even child-like – thus arousing more nurturing sensations, rather than sexual ones.
In lay(wo)man’s terms: Hot you wanna bang, cute you wanna cuddle.

"If we’re going to start throwing stones at this thing, it’s better to actually do so than discuss about how we’re aiming them for months on end. It doesn’t help that the world now-a-days seems populated with strictly ideologues yammering back and forth with no meaningful progression to any sort of debate. It’s tiring to hear about how terrifying SOPA is, because I’ve already heard about it dozens upon dozens upon dozens [hyperlink] of times. How many more petitions am I going to sign until I start to realize that typing out my name really isn’t the decisive masterstroke needed to suddenly clutch out the battle? If you really want to try and stop this thing then let’s look at how we can amend it, because otherwise we’re just spinning our wheels and getting nowhere.
SOPA motives, how it accomplishes them, and where our issues lie:
A) SOPA wants to be a giant cannonball to Piracy. It wants to give serious consequences to anyone who feels that redistributing copy-written material is okay. The entertainment industry loses millions of dollars every year due to piracy, and the bill is an attempt to directly stop that. People feel SOPA’s secondary purpose is to kill streaming, or at least control it, before things like TV go the way of the Do-Do. Blah, blah, blah, you know this.
B) SOPA make it illegal for you to stream un-licensed material without explicit permission. It goes a further step beyond legal action by the offended party, and into realm of felony. Again, you know this.
C) The major complaint against SOPA is that it would burn Youtube asunder, and kill freedom of speech right where it stands. Besides the..."

"A game breaking bug has been plaguing Zelda fans who are playing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Nintendo was quick to acknowledge the problem but a fix was not issued. Nintendo has issued "patches" for Wii games in the past but it's certainly not something they do often.
Today, Nintendo Japan has announced how they plan on fixing this problem. They are going to release an entire Wii Channel to repair the damage this bug has done to people's saves. The "Zelda Data Restoration Channel" (rolls off your tongue, doesn't it?) will be available via the Wii Shopping channel. A release date has not been announced.

"The PlayStation Vita is going to be region free, which means that a handheld purchased in one part of the world will play nice with software released for it in another part of the world. Sony president Shuhei Yoshida confirmed the news over the weekend in a Twitter update.
This is nothing new for Sony, as the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable are both region free (unless you're a BattleZone fan) -- and thus, import-friendly -- as well. Japan will be getting the Vita on December 17, a month or two it comes to the United States. Those who absolutely can't wait for the new toy will be happy to know now that they have the option of importing.
