“Born in Captivity” is a quirky and warped animated short film directed by the young filmmaker Andrew Chesworth. Now hearken here all ye innocent peoples from both near and afar! Here is told the very twisted story of a madly twisted mind, who had the terrible misfortune of living in an even more twisted world. Wowweeee! That’s just about the only word that describes it! It sort of leaves you breath-taken and totally at a loss for words! The film’s bizarrely meandering storyline is filled with gripping, totally unexpected twists that genuinely make you either gasp or laugh at all of its weirdly warped foolishness!

“Birds on Wires” is an amazingly creative one-minute musical short film produced by the Brazilian filmmaker Jarbas Agnelli. According to Agnelli, one morning while he was reading a newspaper, “I saw a picture of birds on the electric wires. I cut out the photo and decided to make a song, using the exact location of the birds as notes (no Photoshop edit). I knew it wasn’t the most original idea in the universe. I was just curious to hear what melody the birds were creating.”
He produced this short video by using the photograph, the score (composed by the birds) and the music created from their score. Agnelli has brought the idea of an everyday experience to life, which turns out to be a story very few people would ever think of telling!

“Suddenly, Last Summer” is a 2-minute short film by the Italian filmmaker Leonardo Dalessandri, with music provided by Flashbulb’s “Alice’s garden.” The film captures moments of lush beauty, as a tranquil ending to summer dreams. The colors, the music, the angles, the light and the randomness of the captured imagery combine to produce a magical synergy in symphony. At times, the film is whimsical and impressionistic, with evocative images that suggest an air of mystery. “Suddenly, Last Summer” is a quiet moment of Zen…leaving the viewer feeling completely at peace.

“Big Pussy” is a hilarious 8-min. short film by filmmaker Todd Strauss-Schulson, who’s been dubbed a younger version of Woody Allen. The film premiered at the 2009 South By Southwest Film Festival, and was subsequently screened at festivals in Montreal and New York City. In the film, a young, but very neurotic super-nice-guy struggles to build enough confidence to tell the girl he loves that her vagina has an…odor. But how on earth will he be able to tell her something that he can’t manage to find the words to say? The answer to the poor fellow’s “vagina as nemesis” dilemma appears quite suddenly in a very funny, surprising twist at the very conclusion of the film.
Now, despite any concerns that viewers might have about watching this film, Director Todd Strauss-Schulson is quick to reassure everyone that the film is “Very classy, I swear. My mom really likes it!“ So without any further silly ado, here it is for your viewing, ahem, pleasure!!

“Lest We Forget” is a 5-min. short film directed by Brandon McCormick. Set in a time of mortal combat during the Civil War, the film serves as a reminder that nobody lives in vain, and that sometimes someone even manages not to die in vain, even though every victim of every war is an unforgivable sin. Stand fast therefore in the liberty that has made us free, and let us not be entangled again with the yokes of bondage.

“Creation Begins” is a very intriguing 1-min. short film opening with a scene set in a seemingly sterile room full of silently working computer servers, which then cuts to a newly created naked Adam who's laying on the floor. The parable continues as the servers whir to life, sexy Eve is born and then the big scary snake slithers into being. With the scene of the Garden of Eden now set within the technological world of wires and silicon, the players rush headlong toward what appears to be the well-known end: the expulsion of Adam and Eve from paradise. But with Adam given the chance to make the same mistake twice, he decides that it’s the human connection that makes creation great, not the technology that makes it possible.

Annie Leibovitz’s life has now taken a decidedly dark turn. In the past five years, Susan Sontag and both of Leibovitz’s parents have died. Her debts now total a staggering $24 Million, payment of which is due on Tuesday, September 8th. If she can’t meet that deadline, she may lose her homes and the rights to her lifetime body of photographic work. Leibovitz has begun to think of herself less as a celebrity artist leading a charmed life and more as a single mother of three, fighting to keep a roof over her head and food on her family’s table. The fear of no longer working is terrifying to her. She has to work.
This comprehensive piece presents a detailed biography, a remarkable, historic slideshow that ranges from Leibovitz’s earliest photography to her more contemporary work, music audio, an extensive, memorable video photo-gallery and links to additional coverage of her work.Annie Leibovitz’s life has now taken a decidedly dark turn. “J’Attendrai Le Suivant” (I’ll Wait For The Next One) is a contemporary French 4-min. short film about people who are trying to find true love in today’s urban world. In the film’s opening scene, a very lonely woman who appears to be in her thirties takes the subway home, where she encounters a young man who claims to be looking for true love. The issue of being single in this modern world is never as starkly emphasized as when the woman eagerly gets off the train in response to the man’s plea. It’s a perfectly told story, with a very unexpected twist at the end!

“Moments” is a stunning short film by filmmaker Will Hoffman, in collaboration with New York City’s Radio Lab. At first glance, the film is simply a mere collection of ordinary moments, such as: a falling teardrop, an escaped balloon, a dive into a pool, a school bus. But far from being just a series of mundane images, “Moments” ends up delivering a cascade of visual poignancy that makes you realize how universal these glimpses are. It’s so very powerfully engaging, like taking your whole life and strolling it past a long hall of mirrors.
The film is evidence that even the smallest things we see every day, when carefully framed, can ache with ignored beauty. There is an infinite potential of unrealized moments in the experiences of our everyday lives, which points to the over-arching importance of living neither in the distant past nor in the far reaches of the future, but rather in our everyday experiences of the here-and-now.

Amidst the subsequent commotion from the press, Johnson talked to “The Mirror” (UK), telling reporters that he’s bisexual. “The Mirror” reported: “The 27-year-old dance and drama teacher gave the two girl judges a cheeky wink during his mind-blowing performance in last night’s live show. But he said he’s a ‘free spirit’ who dates both women and men.” He said: “I don’t like to conform or be put into one box or another...If I like someone’s personality it doesn’t really matter what they look like or what sex they are.'”
