The Empire has no clothes. It has been revealed. Having unilaterally withdrawn from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty with Russia, the US is leading NATO to build a ring of missiles round Russia in Europe. It is globalizing its military forces and operations. An armada of missile-laden NATO war ships is deployed in oceans around the world with nearly 1,000 US military bases on every continent on the planet. Working in this expanded military capacity, NATO members and their allies are encircling China in the Pacific, just as we are surrounding Russia, while rejecting Russia and China’s repeated proposals to negotiate a ban on weapons in space. NATO is a lawless rogue alliance, determined to control the world’s oil and other scarce resources, by brute force. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/recent-news/43004-time-to-disband-natoThe Empire has no clothes. Extra dimensions are old news. The newest mind-bending descriptions of reality dreamed up by the world’s smartest physicists, and explained by superstar superstring theorist Brian Greene in his latest book The Hidden Reality, include untold numbers of extra universes. A million universes isn’t cool. You know what’s cool? Ten to the 500th power universes. Greene likes to drop you into the middle of the action first and then explain the backstory (and sometimes it does feel like a full-scale intellectual invasion is happening), but he has an elegant knack for anticipating questions and immediately dealing with any confusion or objections. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/your-details/32324-superstring-theorist-brian-greene-and-his-idea-of-an-infinite-number-of-universesExtra dimensions are old news. Our cosmos was "bruised" in collisions with other universes. Now astronomers have found the first evidence of these impacts in the cosmic microwave background. There's something exciting afoot in the world of cosmology. Last month, Roger Penrose at the University of Oxford and Vahe Gurzadyan at Yerevan State University in Armenia announced that they had found patterns of concentric circles in the cosmic microwave background, the echo of the Big Bang. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/submit-an-article/15029-before-the-conventional-big-bang-Our cosmos was "bruised" in collisions with other universes. The closed beta for World of Warcraft’s third expansion, Cataclysm, is at go, Blizzard has announced.
The company began issuing invites earlier today, so those who’ve applied best check those emails and Battle.net accounts. They make no mention how many participants they’ve selected though, or if they’re planning on expending as the beta progresses; it might help if you go in fingers crossed.
Blizzard’s keeping the expansion’s release date close to the chest for the time being as well. It is expected later this year though. The closed beta for World of Warcraft’s third expansion, Cataclysm, is at go,... more

Translated from Spanish by Aimee Kligman
This speech was delivered by President Uribe from Calamar (a Colombian municipality in the North of the Bolivar region)
As published in: Noticiero Digital -
'Allow me, Calamar compatriots, to change the subject of the topic that concerns us, to give a few thoughs on President Chavez' declaration.
President Chavez, the truth, as witnessed, is that I allowed you to negotiate with FARC, as you requested. I allowed you to meet with FARC, as you requested. I allowed you to meet with ELN. (note: ELN is a lesser known rebel group than FARC). I allowed that Rodgrigo Granda to be moved from Cuba to Venezuela. (Rodrigo Granda is the leader and main spokesperson for the most powerful revolutionary guerrilla group in Latin America, FARC).
And as in so many previous instances, FARC continued to lie and not comply.
The truth, President Chavez, and the witnessed truth, is that when there are no arguments left, and one resorts to insults, as you do, it not only affects international relations, but in this case, you, with your insults and lack of arguments, hurt the dignity of the very people of Venezuela that you represent.
The truth, President Chavez, is that we need to mediate against terrorism rather than mediate with those who legitimize terrorism. Your words, your behavior, give the impression that you are not interested in peace for Colombia, but rather that Colombia fall victim to a FARC led terrorist government.Translated from Spanish by Aimee Kligman

Vauxhall in south London lies directly under the flight paths of both City and Heathrow airports. Planes pass overhead at an average of one every two minutes, registering over 60 decibels.
This film talks to local residents about the constant aviation noise impact on their lives and their concerns over the Heathrow airport expansion and planned increased flights into City airport.

While I may be one of the biggest World of Warcraft fans around (big referring to my interest, not the size of my chestplate), I have come to terms with the fact that Cataclysm may not be the best thing since sliced bread. Want to know why? Read on:
When the rumors started surfacing last week of a new expansion to World of Warcraft, I was ecstatic. While Blizzard deserves credit for continuously providing the community with new content through patch updates, Northrend is starting to become well-trodden ground and the Outland has been sucked dry for years. Instead of offering new land, Blizzard is giving us back what already existed by opening up previously unexplored lands within Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. While the idea seems safe enough, the implementation may cause more than a few hiccups. Here are a few ways that Cataclysm could ruin the Warcraft experience.

Vauxhall in south London is the crossroads for flight paths for Heathrow and City airport.
Planes pass over residential areas at a rate of one for every two minutes. That means before the noise from one plane has totally diminished the next one is on its way over. And it is like that from about 5am, all day, everyday.
Campaign group HACAN are concerned about the constant noise pollution caused by the existing flight paths and the effect the third runway expansion at Heathrow and increased flights to City airport will have on the hundreds of thousands of residents who live directly under the flight path.

So we know that Cataclysm is coming, now we need to know what's coming with it. Blizzard is trying to help us answer these questions with a list of features as well as a new FAQ posted on their website. Check it out:
* Two New Playable Races: Adventure as the cursed worgen with
the Alliance or the resourceful goblins with the Horde.
*Increased Level Cap: Advance to level 85 and earn new
abilities, tap into new talents, and progress through the path
system, a new way for players to customize characters.
* Classic Zones Remade: Quest to level 60 as you never have
before. Familiar zones across the original continents of
Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms have been reforged by the
cataclysm and updated with new quests and content.
* Flying Mounts in Azeroth: Explore Kalimdor and the Eastern
Kingdoms from a whole new perspective.
* Guild Advancement: Progress as a guild to earn guild levels
and guild achievements.
* New High-Level Content: Explore newly opened parts of the
world, including Uldum, Grim Batol, and the great sunken city of
Vashj'ir beneath the sea, and enjoy even more high-level raid
content than in previous expansions.
* New PvP Zone & Rated Battlegrounds: Take on PvP objectives
and daily quests on Tol Barad Island, a new Wintergrasp-like
zone, and wage war in all-new rated Battlegrounds.
* Archaeology: Master a new secondary profession to unearth
valuable artifacts and earn unique rewards.
* New Race and Class Combinations: Explore Azeroth as a gnome
priest, blood elf warrior, or one of the other
never-before-available race and class combinations. So we know that Cataclysm is coming, now we need to know what's coming with it.... more

TGN writer Sela examines one of the most heated topics in the gaming world right now, Left 4 Dead 2, and discusses why it should be an expansion. Check it out:
"So what’s up with Left 4 Dead 2 anyway, other than the fact that the acronym (L4D2) sounds very reminiscent of a certain famous Star Wars character? Valve decided to (rather quickly) develop a sequel to their hit co-op zombie-killing game Left 4 Dead. Ironically, the biggest news about the game isn’t the actual game, it’s how far the fans have gone to boycott the new sequel. Their complaints focus on the striking similarities between the two games and the perceived lack of change / improvement. As of this writing, the L4D2 Boycott group on Steam’s website numbers around 40,000."
