If you’ve all but given up on the vampire sub-genre, hold on for a little longer and give Daybreakers a try. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it’s an entertaining story with an intriguing premise. It’s not perfect, but there’s plenty of grue and absolutely no adolescent angst to be found.
Even if it sucks it's got a leg up on at least two other movies featuring vampires.If you’ve all but given up on the vampire sub-genre, hold on for a little longer... more

Australian filmmakers Michael and Peter Spierig, who were involved with zombie film Undead and the new upcoming sci-fi vampire film Daybreakers which is released on January 8, 2010, have been hired by Warner Brothers to write a new version of the classic 1935 pirate hero Captain Blood, who was famously played by Errol Flynn.
