So without further ado, let's hit up what's fresh, rotten and bland on this DVDo's and DVDon'ts. But before we begin:

Thank god the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is coming out on DVD November 3rd. I almost didn't know what I would do with myself if I couldn't relive the film that in a weird way, I enjoyed for its' oddly fantastic premise.
That premise being that if you do enough sugar, anything looks awesome.
So what's in this awesome disc of CGI explosions and BOOM HEADSHOTs?
Disc 1:
Feature commentary by director Stephen Sommers and producer Bob Ducsay
Disc 2:
Digital Copy
The Big Bang Theory: The Making of G.I. JOE— Join the G.I. JOE team as they set out to "Sommer-size" the summer action epic and bring G.I. JOE to the big screen.
Next-Gen Action: The Amazing Visual FX and Design of G.I. JOE— With over 1,650 visual effect shots, G.I. JOE was a truly massive endeavor. Showcasing the hard work and creativity of the film’s effects and design team, this piece looks at the unique challenges of bringing the world of G.I. JOE and COBRA to life, while immersing viewers in the incredible thrills and various FX challenges of the film’s major action sequences.
I, for one, am excited to view a "Sommer-sized" DVD. Hopefully it'll come with free pixie sticks. Honestly, if "Sommer-size" means getting a PG-13 and still being able to blow heads off people, then I'm all for it. And who cares if math is hard? Let's go shoppin'!

Video Games | G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra | Review
XBox 360 | Playstation 3 | Nintendo Wii
Apparently Paramount is a-okay with video game tie-ins to their terrible summer films be given unfavorable reviews by people in the U.S. as long as they haven't seen the film. But this tie-in game looks like it'll be an hour of fun before crushing reality sets in, like with most movie tie-in games (i.e. Iron Man, Transformers, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Also, E.T.)
But still, the realization that the only actor to voice his character from the film in the game is Marlon Wayans? Depressing-er.

Thursdays remain an important part in our week, as a new episode of The Rotten Tomatoes Show is airing tonight at 10:30 pm. But on a sadder note, Budd Schulberg is dead at 95; on a happier note, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra continues to plummet on the Tomatometer as those nasty "critics" see it and Steven Spielberg's Harvey will just have to imagine Tom Hanks is in it. Let's go!
Budd Schulberg, screenwriter for On The Waterfront and author of What Makes Sammy Run? has died. [Current]
Variety has an Aussie review G.I. Joe to get around Paramount's whole "good reviews=screenings" policy. And trashed it. [Variety]
Tom Hanks won't be jumping on Harvey, but possibly Will Smith? Wells' advice: Don't. [HE]
Jodelle Ferland, creepy little girl of Silent Hill, is now a creepy little vampire in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Yay, typecasting! [Current]
The case for Robert Rodriguez' (and oddly, co-director Ethan Maniquis) Machete has arrived. Yay... [EW]
OMFG TWITTER GOT DDOSED EVERYONE FUCKING RUN FOR THE HILLS DOGS ARE MARRYING CATS [DHD]
Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio are both producing with "eyes" to direct/star in an adaptation of Brave New World. [THR]
And finally, the U.S. trailer for Ong Bak 2, which has been on DVD for nearly six months. [Twitch Film]
Also, going to the bathroom at Comic Con. Tee hee!

During an interview, Stephen Sommers was optimistic about a sequel:
"...But I hope I get to do a sequel, first of all because I had so much fun with these actors. When you watch the movie or come [to the junket], all of the press can see how much fun we had making the movie. I go into these movies knowing it's a marathon, not a sprint, and I won't work with *ssholes. We had a blast – it was really hard, but we had a lot of fun on the set, so to get to hang out with these people again would be just heaven."
Of course, when your subtitle is "The Rise of COBRA," one assumes there will be as second one--Box Office willing.During an interview, Stephen Sommers was optimistic about a sequel:
