Jennifer Aniston has stirred herself up a bit of controversy by using the word ‘retard’ inappropriately. For a photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar, Aniston channeled Barbra Streisand, and when she made an appearance on the Live with Regis and Kelly, she was asked about the shoot.
Regis said, “You’re playing dress up.” Jen replied, “Yes, I play dress up. I do it for a living, like a retard.”
This comment has caused a lot of upset, a spokesperson for the Special Olympics has made the following comment:
“Sadly, people use the word pervasively even if they don’t realize it, people with intellectual disabilities have fought their whole lives for understanding and recognition. When people continue to use the R word, it’s hurtful.”
It’s clear that Jennifer didn’t real mean to offend anyone, and she was just poking fun at herself, but still, the use of the word ‘retard’ could be quite hurtful. Jennifer will probably issue an apology at some stage to clear this up. The relationship between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt which is already troubled, has now entered the realm of violence, according to a new cover story by the National Enquirer.
According to the tabloid, the trouble started when Brad Pitt admitted to Angelina Jolie that he has maintained a friendly relationship with his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
