The biggest reason cited for this change is that girls no longer view princesses and getting married to be the ideal.
“By the time they’re 5 or 6, they’re not interested in being princesses,” said Dafna Lemish, chairman of the Radio and TV Dept. at Southern Illinois University and a self-proclaimed expert in the role of media in children’s lives. “They’re interested in being hot, in being cool. Clearly, they see this is what society values.”
This is also what happens when Christians forget biblical truth and let Neo-Marxist, radical ideologies like cultural feminism run the mass media and change Western Civilization’s traditional Christian, biblical values such as purity, modesty and monogamous marriage.
Such radical ideologies have been infecting mainline denominations for decades, and now they are infecting evangelical denominations as well.

When you hear the words comic books, do you get a picture of a geeky teenage boy reading about superheroes? If so, you'll be surprised to learn that not only do boys read many other type of comics and graphic novels, but many comics are being written for teenage girls. (Graphic novels are comics books bound together to form a book).
Teenage girls are reading many different types of comic books, including those read by males. Both The Umbrella Academy and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, both action fantasy comics, have had large female followings. The hugely successful Sandman comic series by Neil Gaiman was read by just as many females as males. Same for the Scott Pilgrim comics which is being adapted into a film starring Michael Cera.

It’s official: Ellen Ripley is the most badass female movie character of all time. So now the only question that remains is a simple one: Will we ever see her again? “You know, Fox was going to do another one,” Sigourney Weaver said to us recently while accepting Ripley’s honor. “They had it written. Joss Whedon wrote it.”
As Weaver remembered it, however, the script from the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” mastermind just didn’t rock her world. “It took place on earth,” she explained. “Which, I have to say, just really didn’t interest me. And I just felt that every time we went out there, we needed to have a really original piece.”
Which is a shame, because Weaver said that at the time she was perfectly willing to take on the Aliens once again. “I was all for going back to the original planet; I thought that would be interesting,” she explained. “But I was alone in that; we couldn’t really agree on what would be interesting.”
Soon afterwards, Fox turned their attention to casting a different leading character opposite the Alien, and Weaver’s days as Ripley may have been shut down for good. “Once they were committed to ‘Alien vs. Predator’…” she trailed off. “If you don’t respect the creature - I haven’t seen them - but it just becomes too hum-drum.”
Still, Weaver told us that although she isn’t sitting by the phone these days, she does feel like Ripley still needs a proper send-off. And if somebody could ever write a great Alien script (that presumably wasn’t set on planet Earth), she’d be willing to read it.
“Even in twenty years, if someone came to me and said, ‘This is the story, and it’s a really interesting story using that world’ [I’d do it]. I think it’s an amazing saga,” the 59-year-old actress reasoned. “I don’t sit around thinking, ‘Oh I want to do another Alien,’ but it does feel slightly unfinished to me. But that has a lot to do with Fox, so it wouldn’t surprise me if another generation at Fox, looking at what they have, would [make it work].”
“There have been lots of ‘Alien’ impersonators, but there is something about [that first] one,” she said of Ripley’s original film, as well as the franchise it spawned. “I just don’t feel that it’s quite finished.”It’s official: Ellen Ripley is the most badass female movie character of all... more

James Williams is the President of Bugei Trading Company, Inc. He has been studying martial arts since 1960 and teaching since 1975. James has trained, competed in, and taught a number of different martial disciplines: Japanese, Okinawan, Chinese, Filippino, as well as the Brazilian system of Jujitsu as taught by Rorion and Royce Gracie. His experience includes western wrestling, which he also coached, as well as competing in boxing and kickboxing. His love of samurai martial traditions came with his study of the Yanagi ryu of the Yoshida han under Don Angier Sensei and the martial traditions of the Kuroda han as taught by Kuroda Tetsuzan Sensei. James also studied Daito ryu Roppokai with Okamoto Seigo sensei.
James also teaches Close Quarters Combat to police and military both foreign and domestic. The method used, "The System of Strategy," is based on those skills developed and cultivated by ancient warriors. He is the designer of the "Hissatsu," a close quarter battle knife that is produced by Columbia River Knife and Tool. James is certified as an instructor of Systema, an Ancient Russian Martial Art taught by Mikhail Ryabko and Vladimir Vasiliev. Williams sensei teaches Nami Ryu Aiki Heiho, (kenjutsu, iaijutsu, tanto jutsu and aikijujutsu) and The System in Encinitas California.
"James Williams of Bugei Trading Company fame, treated the Blade Show attendees to a rare show of skill with the Japanese sword. We were all quite impressed by Mr. Williams' poise and presentation as he used both one and two handed cutting techniques to sever 4 inch and 5 inch bundles of Tatami (rice straw) mats. In particular, we enjoyed seeing Mr. Williams make multiple cuts in rapid secession and even sever falling mats in mid air. But perhaps the greatest exhibition of skill was the finale where Mr. Williams demonstrated how a highly killed swordsman could suddenly drop low to the ground to avoid an opponent's blow while simultaneously drawing and cutting with his own blade. Most impressive! While Bugei Trading is a fierce competitor of ours in the sword business, we never want to become so mean spirited that we can't recognize real skill and ability when we see it. We congratulate Mr. Williams on the fantastic demonstration we were privileged to watch and encourage all of our readers who love swords not to miss it next year!"

America's Secretary of State Hillary Clinton snapped at a Congolese student when a ropey translation of his question led her to think she was being asked her husband's opinion.
The student in Kinshasa wanted to know President Obama's opinion on a Chinese loan to the Congo. However, a translator and instead asked her what she thought President Clinton thought, at which point she incredulously opened a can of whoopass.
"You want me to tell you what my husband thinks?" she asked.
