Like an anxious admirer, HP continues to lavish gifts on the lucky devs over at WebOS Internals. This time it's sending them pre-release TouchPads as an enticement to get busy and boost the 9.7-inch slate's app count before it launches next month. HP recently promised that "thousands" of TouchPad apps are on their way and, in addition to attracting big names like Skype and Amazon Kindle, it's also ensured that legacy apps continue to be supported on WebOS 3.0.
With nearly 600 unofficial goodies sitting pretty at PreCentral's homebrew app gallery, HP clearly feels it makes sense to reach out in that direction too. And who said love was just a trick?Like an anxious admirer, HP continues to lavish gifts on the lucky devs over at WebOS... more

This second Droid is the answer to customer complaints about the touchpad. The previous Droid in which many say is very disturbing. And in the Droid 2, the touchpad has been removed. It is not just a matter of just a different touchpad, the Droid 2 is also a lot of repairs or upgrades and the most beloved of anyone is an improvement on the processor and RAM memory. The processor speed of first Droid is 550 MHz and a memory 256 MB RAM, and the Droid two has a speed of the 2 GHz and have a memory 512 MB. Philips couldn't decide whether you asked for a Bluetooth mouse, a USB mouse, or a touchpad, so it Frankensteined all three together. What can we say about aptly named "Bluetooth notebook mouse SPM9800/10?" Well, if you need a Bluetooth mouse, you can use it like a Bluetooth mouse. If the juice runs out, plug it in via USB and you have a USB mouse.
But the feature that most differentiates this from other, how we say, 'mash-ups,' is that the click wheel has been replaced with a 360°TouchControl sensor, which is essentially a touchpad on the top of the thing. That's right: lift this thing off the table and use the touchpad to move around on the screen. PowerPoint has never been this sexy! Hits the scene in select European markets soon for about $80.Philips couldn't decide whether you asked for a Bluetooth mouse, a USB mouse, or... more

Videos of the successful trial run and some preliminary testing and wiring.
It may not seem like much from this video, but Malmö University graduate student Rob Nero has assembled himself a surface-based touchpad using all Arduino products and "simple Algebra." Dubbed TRKBRD, the device uses hyper-fast flashing LEDs and IR sensors to calculate the XY coordinates of the shadow, and subsequently the finger itself. We haven't seen it hooked up to a computer just yet, but we hope there's more to come.Videos of the successful trial run and some preliminary testing and wiring.
