“The Other Guys” is the funniest movie of the year. I tried to come up with a less hackneyed way of saying that, one that didn’t make it appear as though I was trying to get into the film’s newspaper ads. But there is no other way to put it. You will laugh out loud and you will do so often.
Even the production notes -- the lengthy press material provided writers -- are hilarious. Here’s what Samuel Jackson allegedly had to say about acting opposite the film’s stars, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg:
