When contacted by What Label? Management on behalf of songwriter, Qiana Brock, Kingdom Records representatives stated that since the faith-based business incurs operational costs Ms. Brock will not be paid.

High energy… Head banging... All understatements when describing “Success” the new release from rapper I. Write, now available on iTunes. This upbeat track off his upcoming “The Lightsaber Album” is destined to be a club banger.
I.Write’s focus is a rocket blast towards Billboard. The Chicago artist states the blockbuster George Lucas film ‘Star Wars’ as his inspiration for the new project. When asked which side he prefers, the Empire or the Rebellion he smiles and says, “Wait and see.”
What Label? CEO, Kiley Brown, exclaims, “I couldn’t stop moving as soon as I heard the first few bars. By the time the hook dropped I had already planned to load the track into the workout playlist on my iPod. Write has given me a new mantra to chant.”

Creativity knows no boundaries as "Success" takes you into a world of sounds and melodies coming at you from every direction while I. Write's delivery keeps the music centered. FMBQ chart topper and all around rock bad-ass Xiren recently agreed to a deal with What Label that would make him the first alternative artist on the roster. It's no surprise to most around the camp given his recent friendship with owner and label executive I. Write. Xiren comes aboard just shy of releasing his second single of the year "Gateway Drug" scheduled to hit stores in August this year. Most importantly, Xiren has been working with new producers and I. Write to give him a bit of an edgier sound. When asked about the new deal I. Write replied, "I am excited to have him on board. I've been a fan of Xiren for years now and just got my opportunity to work with him just recently. He brings to What Label a much needed versatility we we're searching for. I can't wait to get in the studio. Hell, I can't wait to hit the stage". Yesterday I. Write posted his first video blog on online. As part of his new online marketing platform to promote his new project "Star War" (the new concept album dervied from the Star Wars film saga). I. Write spoke on various topics from new artist Bob Chin and Xiren to the theft of his wallet last week. No pun intended! What was curiously not discussed by the current hip hop mini-mogul was the apparent success of his barely promoted last project "Whatevers Necessary". When asked about it I. Write just said, "I honestly forgot about it. We have some much going on between our new online endevours and this last single we just dropped that I haven't even had time to think about. I'm glad people are still out there buying it. It shows me my fan base is growing. Maybe I will shoot a few links out to the album tonight on Twitter. Who knows."Yesterday I. Popular Music Inc. and Tunecore have just come to an agreement regarding Popular Music's latest digital distribution model. The pair will leverage the distribution strength of Tunecore and the licensing expertise of Popular Music to create a multi-dimensional music management service for independent artist world wide. When asked about the venture I. Write commented with "Artist will save time. It takes years for independent artist to learn licensing, distribution and content management. That's the big difference between indies and majors except they aren't giving out any helpful hints and there's no artist development anymore. Once this move is operational why would anyone go anywhere else. Everything you need to compete is here. Plus we have a few extra tricks up our sleeve too."

What Label recording artist and Popular Music President announced on Friday, March 5, 2010 that he will be releasing a series of viral videos to promote his first single "Terror".
I. Write went into details by stating;
"Its hard for any independent artist to compete against the majors when they have all the resources. But, where they don't give us a lot of credit is in our creativity and that's where their weakness lies. I have always been an artist and an owner so at the end of the day I see it and study it all, so nothing gets past me. I wanted to compete. Terror, Whatevers Necessary, and Popular Music all compete. these videos are just my way of making lemonade. I guarantee it going to be like watching CSI or Law and Order, or Grey's Anatomy for that matter. Your going to want to see it. People are going to watch it. then play the single Terror, then buy Whatevers Necessary. And when its all said and done, ultimately your going to make the decision as to the outcome of not only the characters, but my life. I feel that strongly about the music, that strongly about the label. Just because you spend a million dollar doesn't mean your gonna sell a million records. We can compete. I. Write will make the Billboard Charts. Whatevers Necessary will be received well and sell well. You just have to have a great idea, great music and lots of support. Thankfully I'm blessed to have all three.What Label recording artist and Popular Music President announced on Friday, March 5,... more

On Monday February 22, 2010 Popular Music Inc. unveiled its plans to create a new digital distribution platform. The move comes largely after the group has pondered amongst the ranks of the obscure in digital distribution behind CD Baby, IODA and others. The model created by Popular Music recording artist I. Write (Keith Freeman) focuses less on distribution outlets and more on helping artist reach a target audience. The label which has developed several partnerships with major labels like Sony and Universal, has also teamed up with broadcast, film, TV and management companies to bridge the gap between majors and independent. In a phone interview held on Monday, I. Write was quick to point out the advantages independents would benefit stating, " We offer everything from management services, to market research, distribution and major label shopping. Hell! We even health insurance. CD Baby can't offer that." Don't get your hopes up though. Popular Music is currently only accepting between 2500 to 5000 artist this year. "Because we want to provide all of our artist with outstanding results we can't get too ahead of ourselves. If we can improve on our efficiency we will allow for others. Remember, artist are still independent this isn't EMI." I. Write said. It's no surprise that rising hip hop phenom I. Write has been engaged in an uphill battle trying to secure funding for his latest project "Whatevers Necessary". The project had originally been stalled because negotiations between I. Write and a certain major label were at a stand still due to the parties not agreeing to several distribution and marketing concerns. So it also comes as no surprise that the over zealous rapper prematurely released a mixtape version of the album entitled "Whatevers Necessary" The Black Market Vol. 1. The mixtape an EP of sorts has six tracks from the soon to be released Whatevers Necessary and a controversial new track entitled "Journey". When asked about the leak I. If 2010 marks the start of a new beginning then I. Write has wasted no time making his mark. The self proclaimed walking billboard for every and anything Popular might have just engraved himself in Pop culture forever.
