Wow! I just spent an hour interviewing comedian Jonathan Katz and I'm still trying to soak it all in! The man who brought Squigglevision to life and boosted the careers of his friends Marc Maron, Louis C.K. and others in the mid-1990s is back with a new animated show. I think you'll enjoy this conversation as it goes from here to there, then over to another place entirely! (And, if you do, please share it!) http://www.mrmedia.com/2012/07/the-dr-is-in-jonathan-katz-returns-in-fine-animated-form-2012-audio-interview/Wow! For the first time ever, we polled the entire SOS staff on their favorite TV of the last 12 months. We knew that, given the fact that our contributors are (principally) spread out across Canada, the US, and Britain, that the results might well be a mixed bag. What we didn’t necessarily expect was the level of consensus surrounding the upper quartile of the list. There was a clear groundswell of support for our collective #1, but competition was fierce for the spots just behind it. Here are the 20 best TV shows of 2011, according to the staff as a whole; stay tuned for The Televerse’s year-end wrap-up, in which Kate Kulzick and Simon Howell discuss their respecive favorites – and least favorites – in greater detail.

I just got done interviewing Aisha Tyler for next week's infoMania (Thursday, April 21, at 11 p.m. on Current), and discovered that she and I are basically the same person. We've both hosted clip shows; both studied Political Science in college; both enjoyed onscreen kisses with David Schwimmer...She's fantastic in person! But don't take my word for it. If you're in her hometown of San Francisco, check her out this Saturday and Sunday at Cobb's Comedy Club. Go to aishatyler.com for more details and follow her at twitter.com/aishatyler.
Also, watch "Archer" on Thursdays at 10 p.m. on FX. It's the funniest adult cartoon on TV. (You heard me, "Family Guy."*) Don't miss next Thursday's "Archer" season finale. Then flip over to watch our heated Halo disagreement at 11 on Current. *Let's face it, "Family Guy" probably didn't hear me.
