Toyota stated they are not aware of any accidents due to the fault, but are recalling the car to fix an issue which deteriorates the brakes. The problem is when fluid leaks onto a 'brake master cylinder' and slowly the performance of the brakes decline with a warning light.
BBC states Toyota made 14 recalls now in 2010 and the early response to the latest issues shows the company does not want a repeat of the accelerator pedal, which caused a number of accidents.
