I hear people joking all the time about being treated like a stepchild. For the last couple of days I know exactly how it feels.
The outer boroughs of New York felt the wrath of their stepfather Mayor Bloombreg this week.
I am not surprised that three days after the storm and I was still able to find streets in Bedford-Stuyveant that haven’t been plowed.I hear people joking all the time about being treated like a stepchild. For the last... more

After last weeks post about the Halsey Street Grill. I had to pay them a vist.
There was a very nice older lady working the counter and a kind gentleman doing the serving. The gentleman that does the serving is by no means afraid of giving you your moneys worth when it comes to servings. The photo speaks for itself.
By the way, it only cost $6.50!After last weeks post about the Halsey Street Grill. I had to pay them a vist.... more

The Paul J. Cooper Center for Human Services plans to relocate it’s services to the former site of the Miracle Makers agency located at 510 Gates Ave.
The PJC Center met with the Health and Social Service Committee to seek a letter of support from CB 3. Click here to read their letter.
On Oct. 4th the PJC Center’s CEO, Wayne C. Wiltshire gave a presentation to CB 3 about their services and mission. Several of the community members in attendance seemed unimpressed with the presentation given. Unfortunately, the presentation lacked details and stats that several of the audience members were seeking.
Here are a few details on the PJC Center from their website pauljcooper.org
Paul J. Cooper Center for Human Services, Inc. originally known as the Brownsville-Ocean Hill Community Mental Health Clinic was established and incorporated in 1971, by concerned community activists to help rebuild a strong communtiy. It was renamed the Paul J. Cooper Center for Human Services in 1983 in honor of the Commissioner of Health who championed their efforts. Today, we continue to provide assistance to people with chemical dependency, mental health issues, and residential services for the developmentally disabled.
After the presentation, Chairman Henry Butler called for the vote on wether or not to issue a letter of support for the PJC Center. The board final vote was as follows:
28 – yes
no – 3
abstained – 4
recusal – 2
I leave the final vote to you.
