Coroner: Pneumonia, drugs killed Brittany Murphy

LOS ANGELES – Brittany Murphy died from pneumonia, but anemia and prescription drugs also played a role, coroner’s officials said Thursday.

Director: Brittany Murphy was warned about husband Simon Monjack but did not listen
Brittany Murphy was warned several times before her death about husband Simon Monjack’s alleged fraudulent activities, but she reportedly refused to listen.
Monjack vehemently denied his detractors’ numerous allegations, however, telling London’s Daily Mail that he’s been a target ever since he met Murphy at a party three years ago before marrying her in May 2007.

Brittany Murphy’s husband and mother made a frantic attempt to revive her before paramedics arrived … this according to notes written by an investigator from the L.A. County Coroner’s office. And, there were a shocking number of strong prescription meds on Brittany’s nightstand.
TMZ has reviewed the documents, written by Investigator Blacklock. According to his notes, Brittany Murphy “had been complaining of shortness of breath and severe abdominal pain” for 7 to 10 days prior to her death. According to the notes, Murphy went into the bathroom at around 7:30 AM Sunday and shut the door.

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles County coroner’s office says it has completed an autopsy of Brittany Murphy but will defer releasing a cause of death until after toxicology tests are complete.
It says there was no evidence of trauma to Murphy’s body.
Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter says the autopsy was completed Monday.
Murphy died Sunday after collapsing in the bathroom of her Hollywood Hills home. Winter says her family told coroner’s investigators she had been suffering from flu-like symptoms in the days before her death.

What is Brittany’s husband hiding? Only moments after movie star Brittany Murphy was found unconscious by her mother and reported as being dead of cardiac arrest at the young, hopeful age of 32, suspicions are already rising about the true cause of Murphy’s death.
According to TMZ, Murphy’s husband Simon Monjack, is opposed to the completion of Murphy’s autopsy by Cedar Sinai Medical Center’s staff. However, the LA County Coroner’s isn’t letting Monjack get in their way of completing a full investigation into Murphy’s death. While the Coroner’s office is not communicating any suspicions of foul play, it is also too early to rule it out.
