Rick Santorum is obsessed: obsessed with your vagina, obsessed with your uterus, and if you’re gay, obsessed with where you put your penis. He’s obsessed to the point where one must truly question his mental faculties, because this is not normal behavior...

As a progressive and extremely socially liberal male, I felt the need to do more than just pay lip service to the cause against this infringement on a woman's body. I had to make sure I understood the depth and breadth of contraception among American women...

The Democratic Senator from New Jersey, speaking at a press conference, said Roy Blunt’s “Respect for Rights of Conscience” bill, which would allow any company or big insurance company the power to take away health services on moral grounds, is an attempt by Republicans to decide what is best for women in this country. The bill has 20 sponsors and all but one of them are male...

A large part of what makes all of this so galling is that Santorum and the Right aren’t offering a “one size fits all” ideology. What this is really about are the Republican elites dictating what’s best for the less moral masses while living their own lives as they see fit. Karen Santorum is the perfect example of this.

Well not surprisingly, in the wake of Friess’ s idiocy, Mr. ‘I’ve never had Sex in my life other than for reproductive purposes’ Santorum, has been forced to do some damage control, albeit begrudgingly...

In their minds, their vision of some sort of Puritanical utopia can and should be the only goal for the country; a world where boys only have intercourse with girls, sex is for making babies, women stay at home, barefoot and pregnant, rearing the children, as they gaze adoringly at their man-hero husband who is the embodiment of God himself, and who is the master of God’s creation....

Enough is enough. We may have won this latest round, but our opponents aren't going away. They're launching endless attacks against women every single day, and we need to rise to the challenge.
We've got to build a grassroots force that's ready to take them on whenever and wherever they attack women's rights and women's health.

The blow-up from the Christian and Catholic right-wingers shows that the fight over women’s sovereignty is shifting from abortion to contraception, as the anti-choice hardliners try to blur the lines and fortify their campaign for dominance over women’s reproductive rights. But as the recent furor over Susan G. Komen’s attempt to undermine Planned Parenthood proved, women are waking up to this war being waged on their rights, and they’re sick and tired of being the politically expedient whipping post of the regressive morons on the right.

This is one of those stories where it’s hard to know how to approach it. On the one hand, it seems like just another piece of wing-nuttery from the fundamentalist Christian base of the increasingly whack-jobbish Republican Party, who would pull just about anything from their crazy hat to outlaw abortion; but on the other hand, it has the potential to be a really cool plot for a horror movie.

Republicans and neo-conservatives have been clamoring about the threat same-sex marriage poses to the institute of traditional marriage. Gay and lesbian couples who have gained the right to marry in some states have already proven more of a commitment to their life-partners than Kardashian showed to her hubby; if Bieber truly did cheat on his long-time girlfriend, well, not to be graphic here, but it wasn’t his values doing the salutin’.

Eric Cantor, who invested heavily in a mutual fund that bet against US Treasury Bonds (you profit when the U.S. debt is bad), is one of the gluttonous fat cats that the Occupy movement is targeting. No wonder he would refer to them as "mobs." The same Eric Cantor who is married to Diane Cantor, a banking executive who has profited greatly from the foreclosure crisis, and whose employer received bailout funds from TARP and has not paid it back.

Enter whack-job of the day, Janet Porter, who is hard at work making sure Ohio’s Heartbeat Bill passes the state legislature and becomes the most restrictive law against women’s rights on the books. The law would prohibit a woman from having an abortion once the heartbeat of a fetus can be detected, which can be as soon as 18 days after conception.
