The latest Alternate Reality Game "Black Helix" is well under way and all the latest developments can be seen at http://www.theblackhelix.com
Latest information:
On the 10th March, Zero Tolerance revealed himself, seeking support for a common cause. To reveal the truth about Pharmucom and Jessica Harrington’s kidnapping. What was stated by Zero Tolerance:-
“You don't know me but we share the same goal. I fight for what’s right, I fight for justice, I fight for the truth. Help me gather evidence and end this injustice”
Players within the game rushed to join the cause at http://www.toleratenothing.org and help Zero Tolerance by uploading all their research to his site. 3 Days later, Zero Tolerance had infiltrated a secret drop at a Dock in Belfast, as a security camera engineer. During the nights events there was what it seems as an ambush in which two men were shoot.
Zero Tolerance was able to rescue one man from the scene and keep him alive. To find out more about what was going on that night, he is being held at a secret location to be interrogated. To make sure that Zero Tolerance gets the right information he called out to the in game players for questions which would help uncover the mystery, help find Jess and ultimately help to take down Pharmucom, if they were involved.
The LIVE interrogation is taking place on the 15th March at 9.30pm (GMT London) and the questions have been crowd sourced from the players in the game. What was in the case? Where was it going? Where will it lead us next?

A seven-year-old child was suspended from his elementary school after making a seemingly harmless gesture many see everyday. Meet the little boy and see exactly what he did.
Patrick Riley was simply trying to distract himself during an assembly at his school. The first grade student formed a gun with his hand and pretended to shoot the wall with a fellow student. That's when he was asked to go home.
'Him and a little girl were just getting bored at an assembly and doing some target practice at the wall,' Lydia Fox, Patrick's mother, explained.
The school disagreed with Fox's interpretation and issued a statement regarding Patrick's misbehavior.
'A student has repeatedly used his hands to simulate a gun and act as if is shooting fellow students,' Parkview Elementary clarified.
After a meeting with school officials, Fox says that they 'agreed to disagree.'
Was Patrick's hand 'gun' harmless or did the school act accordingly?

IONIA -- To the little boy's mother, it was just a 6-year-old boy playing around.
But when Mason Jammer, a kindergarten student at Jefferson Elementary in Ionia, curled his fist into the shape of a gun Wednesday and pointed it at another student, school officials said it was no laughing matter.
They suspended Mason until Friday, saying the behavior made other students uncomfortable, said Erin Jammer, Mason's mother.
School officials allege Mason had displayed this kind of behavior for several months, despite numerous warnings.
"I do think it's too harsh for a six-year-old," said Jammer, who was previously warned that if Mason continued the practice he would be suspended. "He's six and he just likes to play."
Jammer says her son isn't violent, and there are other, more effective ways of teaching him not to make a gun with his hand.
"Maybe what you could do is take his recess away," suggested Jammer, adding her son doesn't have toy guns at home.
"He's only six and he doesn't understand any of this."

Columbine Researcher Rolf Zaeschmar
on School Shootings and More
This program consists primarily of audio content and is 31 minutes in length.
"Rolf Zaeschmar is a longtime Columbine shooting researcher who's been on the case for over ten years. His many writings on the internet, often posted under the handle, "Starviego", have introduced whole new audiences to a relatively unpublicized side of the attack, one which has been derived from the government documents related to it. In addition to working with the Columbine evidence, Rolf has also made connections between the profiles of other "random rage" spree killings such as Red Lake, Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois University. His work deserves the attention of anyone interested in any aspect of the mass shooting phenomenon which plagues society today. Rolf was good enough to talk to me and give his thoughts on the Columbine shootings and related events..."

"GENETICALLY modified crops are everywhere, it seems - even in Europe. Strict laws designed to keep the European Union free of unauthorised GM crops and products are not working, and are posing problems for the EU's €150 billion livestock industry, according to farmers' representatives. They say that supplies of animal feed for poultry and pigs are being refused entry at European ports when found to contain even trace amounts of unauthorised GM material.
Under Europe's "zero-tolerance" laws on GM contamination, introduced in 2007, the presence of even a few seeds of unauthorised GM material will rule out an entire shipment. The animal feed industry says that the laws are unworkable because GM material is almost ubiquitous, given today's global supply chain.

The whining and gnashing of teeth that immediately greet any changes to Facebook have become a cliched social networking punchline. The site, though, is currently being hammered over very real and pertinent concerns that go far beyond mere member tempter-tantrums.
The brouhaha began early last year when Facebook implemented, and then almost immediately retracted, new Terms of Service that many believed would give the site perpetual ownership of member information (like photographs). Over the course of the last year, despite the reversal, those concerns over privacy have only escalated, and some recent revelations by an anonymous Facebook employee should only serve to intensify the cacophony of complaints.
The spike in Facebook vitriol has amplified primarily because of December changes to Facebook's privacy guidelines. The new user settings were initially described as a method for members to completely control their profile activities. People steadily identified some glaring holes in the supposed security measures, though, including the inability to securely lock down profile pictures, fan pages, and friends lists.
According to the unnamed snitch, those aren't the only issues, as the employee claims that everything you do is not only permanently stored and saved, but completely available to Facebook staff and associates. The site All Facebook has expectedly and deservedly retaliated to the whistleblower claims, and has dismissed the supposed revelations as common knowledge with which all Facebook members should be completely familiar.
Speaking to the Rumpus, the Facebook worker asserted that when a member makes "any sort of interaction on Facebook -- upload a photo, click on somebody's profile, update your status, change your profile information," that activity is stored on Facebook's servers. In order to identify a member's "best friends," a feature which quietly debuted recently, the site tracks and stores (at one of four massive data centers) every possible interaction. All Facebook countered by saying this practice is "widely known," and that "if you don't want Facebook collecting information about you, don't give it to them." (Excellent customer service -- MySpace would be thrilled if Facebook adhered to an official "take it or leave it" approach.)
One of the most troubling revelations in the anonymous interview is the claim that any Facebook employee could log into any member account with a single master password (which was some derivation of Chuck Norris -- not so funny in this scenario). The shadowy interviewee also said that various employees (at least two of whom were terminated) were caught inappropriately using that password to gain access to accounts. But, according to some, that password issue "isn't really that big of a deal." That may not sound comforting, but the site says it has a zero tolerance policy for snooping and it has also created a Chief Privacy Officer position.
The comprehensive interview covers even more topics, including fascinating discussions on developments in "psychological analysis," incredibly creepy Facebook interactions, the low-down on the huge programming nerds, and Facebook's international future. Lastly, make sure to check out All Facebook to get both sides of the story. The ACLU's Racial Justice Program is committed to challenging the "school to prison pipeline," a disturbing national trend wherein children are funneled out of public schools and into the juvenile and criminal justice systems. Many of these children have learning disabilities or histories of poverty, abuse or neglect, and would benefit from additional educational and counseling services. Instead, they are isolated, punished and pushed out. "Zero-tolerance" policies criminalize minor infractions of school rules, while high-stakes testing programs encourage educators to push out low-performing students to improve their schools' overall test scores. Students of color are especially vulnerable to push-out trends and the discriminatory application of discipline. The ACLU's Racial Justice Program is committed to challenging the "school to... more
