Casting the perfect dead overweight corpse can't be easy. If you're the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, the extra effort is worth it. Heart disease, death and a mourning wife: all because this guy literally couldn't put down his cheeseburger.
This spot from the PCRM titled "Consequences" will debut this week in Washington D.C. during The Daily Show and local news broadcasts before playing in other markets across the nation. Referring to fast food-induced heart disease as a citywide "epidemic," PCRM spokesperson Susan Levin accuses Big Macs and other assorted fatty McDonald's menu items of "literally breaking our hearts."
Will McDonald's answer with a lawsuit? Does the spin on the "I'm Lovin' It" slogan count as parody? Finally, how funny will The Daily Show's audience find the PSA? Stay tuned.

On Tuesday, I made a video go viral. Perhaps, my biggest accomplishment of the week. I had no part in the production of the video, only in its transmission to a wider body of viewers. This is the story of what happened...
I read blogs in Spanish, to keep up with my previous desire to be a Latin American hipster. On Monday I noticed this “Mini Daddy” video on Hazme El Chingado.
I suppose I was predisposed to love this video. Last week I produced a hilarious mashup entitled "Reggaeton for the Painfully Alone." I am also an internet aficionado, and I knew that a chubby youngster dancing around would be "oro del internet."
The video already had 21k hits, mostly from Hazme El Chingado (btw don't just say that phrase aloud, it's ÑSFW.) Nearly all the hits were from the Spanish-speaking world. Realizing this might have potential en Ingles. I blogged about it on the Current.com Blogs.
I also added it to my Tumblr. I was reblogged by Amanda Ferri, an influential blogger. I saw 60 notes on that. I also sent the link to Lindsey Weber at Urlesque.
Urlesque was the first major site to post this. They gave us credit. Then Mini Daddy made his way onto Videogum. They did not give us any cred. It’s now on Buzzfeed, The Awl, HolaMun2, Spike and the rest of the internet.
I want to give a special shout out to Richard Metzger at LA Times' Brand X, for re-attributing credit to Current.
The video had 105,539 hits this morning, and currently has 123,285 views.
That is the story of this viral video, so far.On Tuesday, I made a video go viral. Perhaps, my biggest accomplishment of the week. I... more

Lord Destro despises democracy. Why on earth should the majority rule? Especially when the majority is simply a cross section of the weak, the jealous, the cowardly, and the lazy? Lord Destro is so completely confused by the notion of “liberty and justice for all.” How is this possible, when the majority so feverishly lurks over the conscious few, constantly seeking to steal and defile each and every precious belonging of the minority?
Case and point: Thickness. A poetic term created within urban culture for the sake of identification. In a world where stick figures and pancakes were being constantly thrust at the masses as the definition of beauty, those females blessed with round and shapely extremities were marginalized by the greater community’s standard, and inaccurately lumped into the category of fat. Young men who rejected this standard, and rather considered these women the epitome of femininity, decided to create a new category, and aptly named it: Thick.Lord Destro despises democracy.
