I just read the recent press release, stating that the Hope for Haiti Now Telethon has raised over $66 Million for the relief efforts! This is amazing news and hopefully people will continue to give back.
I am really happy that George Clooney reached out to create this event and was able to get so many celebrities help raise awareness and help gather donations.

Friday's 'Hope For Haiti' telethon, organized by George Clooney and broadcast across nearly every major network, raised over $57 million in phone, online and text donations, in the 24 hours following the event.
The telethon will continue to spur donations through the sale of the night's musical performances on iTunes. The recorded album was #1 in 18 countries over the weekend.
The money raised will be split equally among seven relief organizations: Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF, The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, the United Nations World Food Programme, and Wyclef Jean's Yéle Haiti.
The telethon's website, HopeForHaitiNow.org, is still accepting donations which will continue to be distributed equally among the nonprofit organizations. The Entertainment Industry Foundation, which manages the website, has waived all administrative fees.
After the telethon, many potential donors reported having trouble getting through on the phone line, or not receiving confirmation messages after texting GIVE to 50555. Trevor Neilson, president of the Global Philanthropy Group, believes millions of dollars were likely lost due to these technical discrepancies.
