Looking at the works of Spanish street artist, Sr. X often seen provocative messages masked as vintage advertisements. Sr. X draws inspiration from pop culture, movies and urban legends and creates stencil artwork that are becoming more prevalent within Spains urban landscape.
Sr. X creates his own identity with his amazing stencil/ spray paint work and collaging. There’s less of a concern about exactitude of the stencils (which, by the way, there is) and more concern about the art, with a welcomed cheeky tone on and off the streets. Off the streets, Sr. X indulges in a more painterly style that helps to drive the messages often brandished ironically. Internet hackers have acquired a dubious reputation for piracy, sabotage and the spilling of sensitive secrets, but an authoritative Vatican publication appears to rehabilitate them and traces parallels between hacker philosophy and the teachings of Christianity.
