Kevin Smith, aka, Silent Bob, is best known as the director of 'Clerks,' 'Dogma,' 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back' and the infamous 'Jersey Girl' has a new movie coming out called 'Cop Out' on February 26th. However, it is not his new movie that has kept his name in the headlines for the past few days.
It is the fact that Southwestern Airlines asked him to leave his seat and get off of the plane because he was too fat for the seat that has had millions of people talking about him. The story has been seen and read on the news, 'The View', People Magazine, and even the Los Angeles Times. Caroline McCarthy writes that Kevin Smith's response to being kicked off of a Southwest flight because he was "foo fat," "may be the best example we've seen yet of how Twitter and other forms of new-media mass communication are shaping that old industry known as public relations. Nobody walks around with a Twitter follower count or blog URL painted on his or her forehead, and many extremely popular bloggers still live in relative physical anonymity, which means that the customer relations business is like a game of Minesweeper--you can never be sure what might blow up in your face."

Smith says the airline made a mistake in trying to board him as a standby passenger then giving him the boot.

He may like to make you laugh, but “Silent Bob” found nothing funny about being kicked off a plane for being fat.
Kevin Smith, director of the upcoming Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan laugher, “Cop Out,” turned to Twitter to vent his frustrations Saturday after allegedly getting booted from a Southwest Airlines flight.
“I know I’m fat,” the 39-year-old wrote via Twitter. “But was Captain Leysath [sic] really justified in throwing me off a flight for which I was already seated?”
