CMMS is a community documentary for artists who donate 90% of their time and pay to work for small businesses not in a position to pay major marketing rates and especially due to the fact most of the businesses in the Bloorcourt Village Community of west Toronto Canada are started up and operated by iimmigrants to Canada who also make up almost 50% of the total communities population. As a matter of fact, Bloorcourt Village in Toronto and the city of Toronto in general is becoming famous for its cultural diversity. CMMS is all about helping these communities who are not in contact with internet or new media at all at this point in time. Gordon King Welke and Leona Sackaney Sweet are the founders and both agree that this org is a win win win situation for their own org and starting an all artists home/media studio cafe, a win for the community and the artists of the community and especially all of the smaller businesses who are totally the main engine behind the entire communities wonderful multicultural and economic success! A great new organization raising funds for an all artists collective corp that would make available a regular co-op style storefront but with much more. Also, the members pay less per membership but they can pay more for shares of the collective. Also there is a cafe with nothing over a toonie and loonie and best of tools, equipment and supplies for $0.99cents per hour (as opposed to $25.00). an interesting story about a group in toronto trying to raise money by grouping artists together like an employment agency hiring themselves out for several hour contracts for any type of artistic work for community, they win by gaining resume experience and a little cash and some sponsor stuff and the communities small businesses can now get usually very expensive new media and video, painting, graphic arts, flyers, cards etc for next to nothing literally! It's a win win and they want to raise money for this concept known as CMMS - communitymediammarketingstrategy@yahoo.ca (the extra m is media is for a reason).
