Know Your Craft -4- is the best one yet! Episode #4, Know Your Craft begins with a real surprise. The full screen title asks of the viewer " do you think Gordon King Welke resembles movie acting Legend from the 1930's to 1960's named Spencer Tracy?" Then it goes on to show photo comparison's between Gordon and Mr. Tracy. Ironic? Yes a little. Considering that both Gordon and Mr. Tracy quit near the end of their second year of college, right at the point of sure careers, to go into the not so sure...of careers, world of acting!
Gordon's voice over seems to hold back what he really wants to tell everyone. However, just the mere fact that Spencer Tracy did live in Hollywood most of his adult life except for 2-3 years of which he lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada could be more than a coincidence. Look at their faces, quite stunning. I've been told there are actually photo's of Gordon in Hollywood from 1990 when he studied there that look Exactly like Mr. Tracy. Remember, he does not have to look this much like Mr. Tracy just to be considered a blood relation, there is the mother in this equation too you know! Also, consider those 2-3 years that Mr. Tracy lived in Vancouver do match exactly when Gordon was both born and put up for adoption. Does it prove anything? Certainly Not! Is it enough to create wonder? Probably.

As the five minute short film continues, Gordon then jumps into his acting tip (which is what the show is really about) number 4 or show 4. He shows humility as an actor by telling the world (or the small fraction of it watching) that when he filmed his Canadian Heritage Moment titled Valour Road, he kinda messed up his big close-up. It is true but there are other very brief moments where Gordon can be seen screaming for help (very convincingly and powerful albeit a very short performance). There have been vets for the record that place that performance by Gordon among the "war" acting scene that captured the right emotional gages. Good for Gordon.

Usually each Know Your Craft show starts with the tip and then a short video or film illustrating the mistake on screen. In this show however, the tip is saved for last which is not a bad thing as I for one found "Know Your Craft - Episode #4" as the best one yet in this series so far short history. He should continue though because Know Your Craft is refreshing and true to its art.

As for Valour Road, I am guessing that copyright problems prevented Gordon from actually showing the entire big budget history moment from re-enacted from World War One but Gordon does also go on to make sure that you can indeed see Valour Road in its entirety on youtube under videos or simply google...valour road....and you can enjoy his very good first performance ever on film.

If you're looking for a better performance, our research indicates Gordon last appeared in a Hollywood Picture in 1996 in "Trial By Jury" where he performed another energetic scene with yet another Hollywood legend named Joe Santos of "Rockford Files" (starring yet a third legend named of course James Garner) fame. Mr. Santos most recently co-starred in about five (5) episodes of the huge hit show called "The Soprano's" which undoubtedly ranks as one of the small screens greatest hit series in a long time. "The Soprano's" ran for Six (6) seasons and an amazing 86 Episodes.
