Zach Galifianakis interviews Natalie Portman, Between Two Ferns submitted by JoshuaHeller
Internet Funnyman, renowned Visioneer and soon-to-be (The) Hangover star Zach Galifianakis has another important episode of his imporant interview show. This time with Natalie Portman.
And her dog, Whiz.
Robert Rodriguez Explains Why His Barbarella is Officially Dead submitted by AtomicLegion
The director explains his main aversion to why his remake of the space camp classic wasn't made. It has something to do with making a movie outside of Austin and leaving his 5 kids behind. Ironically, when he made Planet Terror, he stayed in Austin but left his wife.
Thankfully, Red Sonja is still in production--and the poster's still up on Wilshire Boulevard!
Another Car Crash Near on Nicolas Cage Movie Shoot Near Times Square submitted by ebindleglass
Another day, another future headline to be saved for when The Sorcerer's Apprentice comes out in theaters.
"Disney Film Crashes at the Box Office, just like last May!"
And as a special final treat, we found Nick Cave's Treatment for a sequel to Gladiator at Gone Elsewhere. It's so awesome:
Maximus enters and finds the Roman Gods (Jupiter, Apollo, Pluto, Neptune, Mars, Mercury, and Bacchus) who mock his predicament. Still, they offer a deal: their brother, Hephaestos, has run off to the desert filled with bad ideas. He is gathering apostates/fanatics and slowly amassing a power greater than their own. As a result, they’ve aged…grown weak and diseased. They want Maximus to seek out Hephaestos and kill him. In exchange, they will reunite him with his family. Maximus bolts out of the temple without saying a word.[funnyordie 5ef1adb57b]

"Used Guys" sci-fi comedy about a future run by women submitted by Vistapoint
Another Ben Stiller movie. God, we have such hopes for it.
Maybe.
New iPhone to feature video recording, editing submitted by Mista_G
Technically not related to the Movies channel, but awesome none the less when you think about the content and ways this could affect how filmmakers use something like an iPhone, making the directors of Crank: High Voltage seem eerily correct.
And finally--

Whoops! We kind of got carried away working on some other stuff yesterday and forgot to bring you our favorite three submissions from Current.com/Movies! So without further ado, here're some picks of ours from Yesterday of clips we liked:

Times Square Film Shoot Goes Awry; 2 Hurt submitted by ebindelglass
While filming a chase scene in Times Square for The Sorcerer's Apprenteince, itself a modern remake and live-action adaptation of Fantasia by Disney, a Ferrari jumped the curb
Memos to Hollywood submitted by St_Alia_10191
Our favorite satirical (yet not) memos from two the New York Times' film critics:
To: Anxious studio heads
From: A.O.S.
Did you notice the last election? People paid a lot of attention, took sides, argued back and forth. As they had, come to think of it, for much of the previous eight years. And yet so many of your “serious” movies tiptoe around areas of real public concern, trying to be vaguely topical while strenuously working to avoid offending anybody. As a result, nobody bothers to go see them. So why not risk troubling the waters a little bit? A lot of the audience likes to argue about movies and also about politics. Why not feed that appetite instead of suppressing it?
To: Lionsgate
Cc: Extreme horror filmmakers and fanatics
From: M.D.
Yuck! Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s only a movie. But if films don’t have any wider meaning in the culture, don’t have real impact on minds and bodies, why do so many of us dedicate our lives to obsessing over them?
Leonard Nimoy and Zachary Quinto: The Two Faces of Spock submitted by AndreaKnoll
Shockingly, two actors can play the same character. But we're Trek nerds, so we have to like this.Whoops! We kind of got carried away working on some other stuff yesterday and forgot... more

Happy Hump Day! In return, the trailer for Hump Day.
Today on Current.com/Movies, we seemed to be a bit more focused on news and lists than usual--and that's awesome! We encourage you to submit the latest in news, fun features, lists and odd trailers to the site. But don't forget, just because you have moving pictures doesn't mean you're right for the Channel. Sorry.
Disney Plants 2.7M Trees In Brazil Based On 1st Week Ticket Sales For 'Earth' submitted by Vistapoint
Keeping true to a promise that was good till yesterday, Disney planted a tree for each of the tickets sold to its' film Earth.
Julia Roberts drops f-bombs at Tom Hanks submitted by Vistapoint
The Film Society of Lincoln Center honored Tom Hanks on Monday and was subject to this rather hilarious video from America's Sweetheart, Julia Roberts.
And thank God for it.

It's Finally Time for Wall Street 2 submitted by Vistapoint
They're finally making a sequel to Wall Street that may star Shia Labeouf. It'll have Gordon Gecko out of jail and take place today. That is all.

And finally, the forum at The Auteur's Notebook creates fake Criterion covers. This is our favorite.
You may also notice a trend in our choices today from Movies Channel. That's because Vistapoint was spot on with grabbing interesting and relevant material, while clipping it in a timely manner. So, we salute you![youtube Y5eMrv5r9iM]

You know those holographic Jurassic Park stickers you have on the spine of your middle school Trapper Keeper? They're putting those on CDs to make them bigger! That is to say, on the inside. They'll be the same size on the outside, and should still fit snugly within your Saved By The Bell CD case.

Universal Pictures Remaking Cronenbergs [sic] VIDEODROME submitted by Sexirobot
Ehren Kruger has reportedly been brought in to work on an update of Videodrome according to Variety, while "modernizing the concept." Because guns made of cancer and body transformation is so 1980s. Universal is backing this unusual turn, since Cronenberg's cult classic isn't really celebrated for breaking banks or anything.
But we're stumped as to who could out-creepy James Woods.
X-Men Origins:Wolverine Will Have Multiple Secret Endings submited by AtomicLegion
The strangest anti-pirating move yet by Fox has been to record and release multiple "secret" endings with different versions of Wolverine that'll be released this Friday. One will likely be the head-scratchingly mundane "Wolverine drinks alone in Japan," while the one screened for journalists last week hinted at the fate of Deadpool.
But still, as Stu at Movieline points out, Wolverine may be the unluckiest film in history.

Anvil's Top 5 Rock Movies
Goodbye week! Hello weekend!
It's Friday and we are getting the heck out of dodge to sit in movie theaters to watch The Soloist, The Informers and Tyson so we can turn in a webcam by Sunday night on Current.com/Movies. But before that, some fun news came out today.

Cannes Prize for Tarantino? submitted by Gregsalter
We're edging closer and closer to the 62nd Annual Cannes Film Festival on May 13, with the full list of films released yesterday. Of course, the major films to look at are in competition, like Quentin Tarantno's Inglorious Basterds and Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock. We'll wait and see what our friends have to say when they touch down across the pond next month.
But The Playlist is quick to note that actress Isabelle Huppert is the head of the Jury this year--and was also removed from Basterds, either by her own volition or Quentin's is up for debate.

It's another wonderful end-of-Wednesday and here's three things we especially liked off Current.com/Movies today:

YO!Blogger: 1st Black Princess submitted by YouthOutlookMedia
The first of hopefully many videos from the crew at Yo! Outlook Media. Here they briefly examine the upcoming Disney animated feature, The Princess and the Frog, and the race relations that inevitably are being called out by the choice of the Prince.
Lil' Wayne Can't Block Too-Candid Doc submitted by Shana
Current.com/Music's Online Producer found a story off The Playlist today that saw Lil'Wayne unable to stop the wide release of the 2009 Sundance premiere doc directed by Adam Bhala Lough. The claim? Lough's doc had incredible access to Wayne and his crew under the assumed belief that Wayne's people would get final say about what was shown in the movie. Of course, once that happened, they took out all the most interesting parts behind the film. Lough shrugged it off and went to Sundance with his cut--and it was declared a must-see by critics.
Now we're just sittin' and twiddling our thumbs while we wait to see it. But Shana asks: does the artist, who allowed the doc to even be filmed, reserve the final right to cut out what some believed to be a bit too intimate?
And finally--

Welcome to the Working Week!
Helping you to transition in, we look at three of the stories that happened across Current.com/Movies:
'Jonny Quest' Gets Zac Efron, but loses Name? submitted by Kid_Amy
Yet another childhood cartoon property may make the transition to the big screen, and yet again it is possibly riding on the back of Zac Efron. But eerily coming on the heels of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's comment that the film would take a "different direction," LA Times' Hero Complex reports that the Jonny Quest film may get a different title.
Which makes, uh, sense? We think?
Mel Gibson's Wife Wants a Divorce submitted by smurph25
Kinda self-explanatory. Of course, TMZ later updated their original post to mention the couple have been separated for two and a half years. In other BREAKING NEWS Fast & Furious made a lot of money on its' opening weekend and now has begun the slow climb down the charts.
Zombies Are The New Vampries submitted by Melk
To be fair, as Delia the Artist points out in a comment, "Aren't vampires technically a form of Zombie since they are 'undead'?"
Otherwise, it's the start of baseball season! And you should celebrate properly by watching The Rotten Tomatoes Show's Fantasy Baseball Movie All-Stars:

Kal Penn Joins White House Staff submitted by Joshua Heller
All the Harold and Kumar jokes aside, Penn is joining the White House as associate director of the Public Liason. Basically acting as outreach, Penn will become the public face--well, one of many--for the new administration and it isn't a bad choice if we may say so, as we fondly remember Penn holding court this time last year at the White House Correspondents Dinner after-party.
(We, of course, were serving drinks and cocktail weenies.)
Pixar’s Art Leaves Profit Watchers Edgy submitted by St_Alia_10191
We are all excited for Pixar's next film, Up. But fiancers and economists are hoping the animated feature is as big a commercial success as it would be an artistic one.
The New Star Trek is a Corker! submitted by JakeWhiteman
If you hadn't heard already, J.J. Abrams' Star Trek screened last night during Fantastic Fest in Austin at what was supposed to be Star Trek II: Wraith Of Khan. Instead...well, here:

The 50 Greatest Movie Finishing Moves submitted by Jake Whiteman
Lists power and fuel the Internet, and this one is no exception from Empire Online. Capped off at #50 by Big Trouble in Little China we have to say, we totally didn't expect the Number One "Finisher" to be so...surprising for what it was. But if you're an action fan, or have seen most flicks in the last 30 years regarding violence, you'll know nearly every scene on here.
Viggo Mortensen Bids Farewell to the Big Screen submitted by BearGrylls
This is why you shouldn't want to make a sequel to Eastern Promises.

We're a few hours away from tonight's brand new episode of The Rotten Tomatoes Show and it only seems appropriate that we mark our favorite posts of the day from Current Movies. Without further ado, our three favorite clips today:
Red Band Trailer for Bruno submitted by Nettle:
via FirstShowing, the latest from Sacha Baron Cohen is online and all set for making fun of homophobia, masculinity, America and the ancient art of dildo fighting. We admit, the trailer had a bit more down than up in terms of laughing out loud, but think about the Borat trailer when we first heard about it--it didn't even mention the bear in an ice cream truck.
But we're not looking forward the scores of kids running around major cities talking about dildo self-defense. Sorry, Sacha, but sometimes you're too effective for your own good.
Keira Knightley stars in domestic violence cinema ad submitted by smurph25:
Barely two minutes long, this clip is one of the most sobering things you'll watch for a long time.
Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance trailers streamed by Yahoo submitted by Current89:
For the anime fan in all of us. If you're in the Los Angeles area, 1.0 will screen on April 10th.
And our geek favorite from Delia the Artist, who gives us her top 10 comic-to-film picks and the awesome debate that continues in the comments.
But there's so much more going on Current Movies, so remember to submit and make sure you're not entering any duplicates. Otherwise, tune in tonight for The Rotten Tomatoes Show at 10:30 pm and remember to submit your webcam reviews to us for Adventureland, Sugar and Fast & Furious! We're a few hours away from tonight's brand new episode of The Rotten... more
