Talk about random timing. This video was originally about a kid (Max) and what would happen if he received a Batman costume for Christmas. It is filled with wonderful quotable material ("Max, what do you want for dinner?" "JUSTICE.")
It was posted 12/11/2008.
It was then reposted twice on 10/13/2009--by TheFuckedUpVideos and Daali-- in theory running on the concept that "Max" from Where The Wild Things Are would receive a Batman costume instead of a furry footed pajama ensemble. The video is fantastic and focuses entirely on the parody of Christian Bale's growl mixed with the idea that it's a kid doing this.
But it's also a video made for fun that has since been used by a YouTube user for exploitative page views and tie-into a movie character.
So...happy watching!

Ok, ok. I get it.
Originally a friend of mine IM'ed me late on Monday night with a sole phrase: "Fight Smack In The Orphanage" and signed off.
Two days later, I get it.
Oh and don't forget--Black Dynamite comes out soon.

In the last desperate gasp to promote Extract, Mike Judge has unleashed his final trump card: Beavis and Butthead. In fact, it is "Film Forum with Beavis and Butthead."
In which we are treated to classic phrases like, "So anyway, in this movie you hvae a chick with big boobs, a dude who gets his nuts knocked off and a dude who is paid to have sex. Oh yeah, and then there's a bunch of bottles of extract too. "
"Wow!"
While "goddamn" is censored to "...damn." But in a moment of self-clarity at using his iconic characters, Butthead interrupts a clearly excited Beavis, "Damn it...you're like part of the problem now."
Still, Mister Bateman brings a smile to my angry heart. If my heart could smile.

It's always odd to be on the cusp of an Internet Shitstorm, yet viral marketing has a knack to start it up. When it comes to film, J.J. Abarams is a master at directing as well as online trolling , as he proved with Cloverfield. In fact, there's nothing that new when it comes to films and viral ads on the Internet.
"R U There?" is a wonderful example of this. From a 41-second run time to overemphasis, however brief, on the Cloverfield street sign, this appears to be the groundwork for a massive viral campaign, right? Well, no.
The problem with viral advertising is imitation. Everyone follows suit from Groverfield to the other 906 parodies on YouTube right now. After all, these days the line between half-assed and bare bones fleshing out of production.
Topless Robot is convinced, FilmDrunk is wonderfully skeptical and it is Devin Faraci at CHUD who has the best reason to why this is even newsworthy:
I guess the answer is that it's interesting to see that Cloverfield remains enough in the popular consciousness two years out to inspire someone to fake a video like this. The film was immensely front loaded and interest dried up theatrically in a couple of weeks, but that doesn't mean the film didn't leave a mark. When you look back at movies time gives the ability to not only judge its quality with fresh eyes but also the context with which to judge its impact.
Honestly, the most interesting would be if "Luke Mullen," who submitted the tip to CHUD was responsible for sending it around to other blogs as well. Then I'd be a little more receptive to the idea of this as viral advert. But think about what this video is promoting: the grass dinosaurs on the 3rd Street Promenade are mildly iconic and blending that with footage of recent construction happening near Broadway is a nice touch. Ditto for the subtle-as-a-heart-attack of mixing in audio and video of Clover, along with what sounds like the trailer from Nine Inch Nails' Year Zero.
It's incredibly doubtful that this is at all legit, even if it is for a film. Yet everything seems a bit too well orchestrated that this is ripe for scene-by-scene speculation and autopsy. So kudos to Abcharu21, who uploaded this yesterday to YouTube. So instead of completely ignoring this, we should celebrate this fan trailer for what it is: good enough to make people consider a sequel for a film that was one of the most interestly advertised american monster movies in the last few years.

Some times, we have to remember the roots of today's actors. Some may have been in Mystic Pizza, others had Pringles commercials. But Mark Wahlberg was a member of New Kids on the Block before he could ever talk to animals.
He also made a fitness tape. And that fitness tape was ripe for re-editing and finding incredibly hilarious innuendo with his female work-out partners. It's kind of incredible and you definitely need to watch it.

Never before in movie fandom have we heard of a teaser of a teaser that will be fully released Friday with Bandslam. But when it comes to Twilight, the sparkly sky with sparkly stars is the limit.
Here is a fourteen second trailer for a teaser that'll likely be sending all sorts of fangirls into diabetic fits and running to Twilight Corners. The fact that Summit can get away with releasing such a random video that--by current count only has 274 views and will likely skyrocket within the hour--is mesmerizing.

You may ask why I even posted it. It's simple. I want to climb the mountain, hug the mountain--I want to make love to the mountain. And this has nothing to do with Movies, so relax about G.I. Joe debates and The Orphanage. So watch this video and stop arguing about Online Film Critic Societies to remember--we climb the mountain because we're in love.

After news broke that Michael Bay is in fact an M&M and introducing it's brand new "douche-splosion" flavor, Josh had a brilliant idea. He found a bunch of frozen M&Ms in our office freezer. The decision?
Eat one.
There's a few ways you could read into this video. Maybe I'm staging a performance art piece against the films of Michael Bay. Maybe I like M&Ms.
Or maybe...just maybe......oh god, my stomach. Michael Bay is exploding in my stomach.

I almost forgot about the mind-bendingly weird trailer for After Last Season until Twitch reminded me that it does in fact come out this Friday. I had originally assumed it was some kind of low-brow attempt at making a cult film like Tommy Wissot's Videogum nabbed it originally, pointing out the exisqiute cardboard sets.
But then it got weird--it got a trailer page on Apple.
And then Filmmaker caught up with the production company.
Finally, this Friday, if you live in either:

Today, my favorite stories over at Current.com/Movies including news of another 3D remake, edible James Bond and proof that the Bruno "mishap" from last night's MTV Movie Awards was a well-timed scam. Even if it was repeated.

Trailer to the original on top. We say meh, but Lionsgate seemingly needs a hit despite a profit decrease.

Sure, this wasn't on Current.com, but that's because you guys have to clip something cool when you see it. I saw it, I tweeted and still nothing. Even Current Comedy got on it!
So yes, it was a bit conjured up by one of the writers, Scott Aukerman, and we think we'd like to see more from him. Especially the Paul Rudd thing. The winter clothes bit was awesome.
Anyway, that's today! See you tomorrow!

Zach Galifinakis is an inspiration to us when it comes to sitting down and performing an interview. His Between Two Ferns series should be scrutinized and taken apart, so as others can learn how to properly talk to famous people.
He's also inspired us to be a Level Three Visioneer. And for me to grow out my massive beard. Unfortunately, randomly slapping co-workers is not having a positive effect.
