Fox’s “Glee” dedicated Tuesday’s Valentine’s Day episode to the late Whitney Houston when, through a strange twist of fate, the hour featured a cover of one of the late pop icon’s most memorable hits in “I Will Always Love You.” Originally written and performed by Dolly Parton, with Houston singing the track for 1992′s feature film “The Bodyguard,” “Glee’s” Amber Riley covered the song in an already emotional scene where her character chose to be single rather than choose between her current boyfriend Shane and her ex, Sam.
The producers of Glee opted to update the episode, which had been delivered to the network last Friday, the day before Houston’s death, and featured a dedication to the singer-actress in a title card that came at the end of the episode. The card read, “Whitney Houston 1963-2012. We will always love you.” Houston died on Saturday at the age of 48.

Jennifer Hudson honored Whitney Houston’s life with an amazing tribute at the 2012 Grammy Awards. Hudson took the stage at last night’s 54th Annual Grammy Awards to sing an a cappella version of Whitney Houston’s hit “I Will Always Love You.” A lone spotlight beamed down on the Grammy and Academy Award winning American Idol alum after the artists and music industry executives who have passed away in the last year were paid their respects in a video montage. Thunderous applause rang through the audience before the room went dark and Hudson’s first clear, strong notes rang out.
She sang what could be considered Whitney Houston’s most famous hit, written by Dolly Parton for the soundtrack of “The Bodyguard.” Hudson’s rendition of the tune was above and beyond perfect, as if she was channeling the recently deceased singer herself. Her version was an exact replica of Houston’s own performance at the 34th Annual Grammy Awards twenty years ago. Throughout the song, Hudson appeared to be blinking back tears, and when she finished, she finally caved in to her overwhelming emotion. The audience went wild.
This piece includes photographs and the music video of Jennifer Hudson's wonderful tribute performance.

Across the horizons of golden mist
within the valleys time forgot
I search to find on this final journey
the love etched deep within my soul
Through canyons of time
vivid images relay
the passion that consumes my heart
the past now the future thought not to be
encompasses my being
With each dawning of the sun
each rising of the moon
though age withers me
my spirit stays young
hopeful through seasons of change
your love be sustained
No distance be too long
no sacrfice too great
to reach the part of me once lost
knowing no other love but yours
could fill this void
my quest and destiny
When at last my journey is complete
the mysteries of life at last revealed
your face will be the last I see
across the moon, always in your love.Across the horizons of golden mist
within the valleys time forgot
