Rosie’s House was founded in 1996 by Rosebell and Woody Schurz. Growing up in Munich during World War II, Rosebell experienced the disruption, extreme poverty and hunger of war. Her passion for playing the violin was interrupted by the horrific circumstances of the war and as a young child she fled from Germany to the United States. Phoenix Symphony will launch its 2010-11 season in an historic marriage with the renowned Phoenix Theatre in a joint semi-staged concert of Meredith Willson and Franklin Lacey's masterwork The Music Man, beginning a most auspicious three experiment and collaboration that promises to recreate for Valley audiences the very best of Broadway.
