Noomi Rapace has slowly become a well known actress since her portrayal of Elizabeth Salander in the cinematic adaptations of Steig Larson’s Millenium Trilogy. Her performance in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo earned her the Swedish equivalent of an oscar, and rumors of a possible Oscar nod here in the states. It took four films for the Resident Evil franchise to finally have a hit. First of all, you know you have a hit on your hands when critics rate your latest release at 14% positive on Rotten Tomatoes and you still haul in $27.7 Million over your opening weekend. Furthermore, when that opening of $27.7 Million is the largest opening for your franchise it becomes abundantly clear that you have a well established audience who likes your series, regardless of what critics think. Resident Evil: Afterlife earned the highest grossing opening for the franchise, with the original bringing in $17 Million during opening weekend, and its two sequels raising only $23 Million each during their first three days. It probably helped that the movie had no real competition at the box office… Read the complete new by clicking in the link

After a nationwide manhunt Sony And David Fincher finally have their girl. Rooney Mara has been chosen as the actress to portray Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. The American adaptation, directed by David Fincher, also stars Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist. Mara is best known for her work in the recent remake, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and also appears in The Social Network. Which, not unsurprisingly, is the reason that Mara got the role? While working on Fincher’s The Social Network, he and Sony were reported very impressed with the young actress, ultimately giving her the edge... Read the complete new clicking in the link

Will Ferrell is a comedy superstar who doesn’t mind appearing in some of the most small, yet memorable movie roles imaginable. While he became infamous off of his seven year stretch on Saturday Night Live, the comedian has a knack for popping up in rather unexpected places. The actor has made several friends along his way to stardom, and as such often pops up in fellow comedians (and long time friends) movies…. Read the complete new clicking in the link

This weekend only two movies will receive wide releases; The Last Exorcism and Takers. Takers features an ensemble cast made up of Chris Brown (Rhianna’s violent boyfriend), Hayden Christensen, Matt Dillon, Idris Elba, T.I. (the rapper), and Paul Walker. The plot involves a bank robbery and the police, and seems like a pretty standard affair. With this much musical talent in front of the camera, it almost feels like the movie was made as a vehicle specifically catered to highlight these hit artists... In light of the unprecedented success of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in Orlando, Florida, we here at TheCinemaSource.com have decided to explore this phenomenon. From the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise to the Shrek rides of Universal Studios, the relationship between movies and theme parks is as strong as ever and even Guillermo Del Toro is getting in on the action, attached to Disney’s The Haunted Mansion. And in this day and age, studios would be looking into cashing in on any of their more popular franchises. Which, needless to say, can be hit or miss... Read the complete new clicking on the link

Edgar Wright’s newest film, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World features some kick-ass moves, awesome graphics but most importantly, A FRICKIN’ SWORD ON FIRE! In honor of this, we here at The Cinema Source have decided to list some of cinema’s most iconic weapons. We’re not saying that these weapons will mow down entire armies of grunts (okay, some of them might) but they will leave an indelible mark on the audiences mind. Or the bad guy’s face.... I gotta say, the Primetime Emmy Awards are much closer races than any other major televised award shows
. Winners are usually awarded for final seasons and characters over time rather than basic solid years. You really have to have broken out and stood out or just had it coming for a long time. These are my Top Five Nominees that should walk away with the awards this year, even though it might not actually happen. Here’s hoping!
1. Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series
Should Win: Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper on Big Bang Theory.
Alec Baldwin is terrific on 30 Rock, but has won two straight years and has had his time. Steve Carrell will most likely take the award home next year for his seventh and final season on The Office while Matthew Morrison will have plenty more years to win a trophy for Glee. Larry David is also a favorite of mine and I wouldn’t be too upset seeing him win for Curb Your Enthusiasm. But if you have seen Parsons on Big Bang Theory, you know Sheldon is the scene-stealing geek that honestly is worth tuning in to watch.
Biggest Competition: Tony Shaloub- Monk
It’s his final year, gotta watch out for those.
2. Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series
Should Win: Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan on Dexter
Michael C. Hall stood out like no other during Dexter’s fourth season, dealing with John Lithgow’s brilliantly creepy turn as the Trinity killer. The character of Dexter finally met his match this season and watching the character question his motives and lose the only person he ever came close to loving just when he thought everything had worked out was just nuts. Plus, the actor went through cancer in the winter while he won his SAG and Golden Globes for the season. Now treated and healthy, I would like to see him win an award for the performance alone and with sympathy not backing him up.
Biggest Competition: Bryan Cranston- Breaking Bad
I neeeed to start watching this show. Everyone loves Cranston and I still have to fully comprehend the idea of the dad from Malcolm in the Middle as a serious character dealing meth.
3. Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series
Should Win: Lea Michele as Rachel Berry in Glee
The only character that has really stood out for me is Rachel Berry on Glee. Maybe it’s because I’m not a true Glee fan, maybe it’s because I loved Spring Awakening, maybe it’s because her overly driven character is so darn likeable. I dunno, something about it stands out, pick one.
Biggest Competition: Amy Poehler for Parks and Recreation.
Tina Fey has owned the Emmy’s, something tells me her old Weekend Update co-host will be the dark horse to surprise people this year.
4. Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series
Should Win: Neil Patrick Harris as Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother or Ty Burrell as Phil Dunphy on Modern Family
NPH has already won two awards of the three he was nominated for this year (Guest Appearance on Glee and Hosting the Tony’s). I don’t care what you say, give him an award for Barney Stinson. The only way I’ll be pleased is if Ty Burrell were to win but c’mon, would you say seeing NPH win would be pretty dang legen…wait for it…..dary?
5. Outstanding Comedy Series
Should Win: Modern Family
Bringing the family comedy into the 21st century, finally, Modern Family works and has really come into its own. From Ty Burrell to Sofia Vergara, this entire cast should be praised.
Biggest Competition: Glee.
Who am I kidding, this is going to win.
Comment other shows and stars you would like to see recoginized this Sunday, August 29th, or just say who you would like to see win for the categories I posted above.

According to the New York Post, James Cameron is eyeing an Avatar sequel in 2014.
The NY Post reports that Cameron is still writing "a ton of notes" for the project. Here's his quote from the article about the Avatar sequel process.
"Right now, the thinking is that [Parts] Two and Three are going to be done together," he said. "They'll be released separately, probably a year apart or maybe even two, but they'll be done in a bunch. I'm mapping out the story line right now, so there's a proper arc that plays out over two films but buttons nicely at the end of Two, so you don't get this horrible second-act/end-of-'The Matrix' feeling. You know, 'I've just sat through a three-hour movie and f- -k-all happened at the end!' "
So, it seems as if the standard process of "lets make a trilogy out of this" is fast at work. Cameron also let loose some more info about the special edition Avatar landing in theaters soon. There is an additional 20 seconds to the love scenebetween Jake and Neytiri. Here's how it was described in the Post:
"The tendrils move with a life of their own, straining to be joined," reads a leaked page of the script that describes the scene. "JAKE rocks with the direct contact between his nervous system and hers. The ultimate intimacy."
Appropriately, the NY Post asked if the PG-13 rating was in danger. Cameron assured them it wasn't.
"We do see a little bit more between Jake and Neytiri on their night of romance, though it's absolutely nothing that changes the rating," Cameron said. "To be honest, there wasn't much more to show — we're pretty much putting in every frame, and it's only an additional 20 seconds."
