With installment 5 of our weekly SPACIOUS broadcasts, we welcome The R aka Justin Reed of Illmeasures to the decks. You might remember him from earlier this year with his “?WHATISSPACE?” disco & midtempo mix that had us and many others blissin’ out on many an occasion. Simon MacAvoy has been holding it down at Busan’s premier club Elune for a few years now. He’s one of our favorite cats to work with and for that matter have just a conversation with. Simon’s sets range from dark & moody to playfully gregarious, and we absolutely had to have him as a special guest on our Korean DJ Showcase series on our new radio program “SPACIOUS,” broadcast to you every Wednesday night via Chicago House FM. This set was broadcast with Typhoon Kompasu bearing down on Seoul, and it did a lot to keep us properly alert on a dangerous, eerily orange late evening. Download the full program below, or just listen in above. Space Academy will be invading Elune in Busan on September 18th with Jay Zimmermann, by the way. You’ve been warned. Look for us at a table filled to the brim with empty bottles and people on the verge of total erasure. See you there!
