Those in total control of Texas Red and the nation that would be “the real money” are always manipulating the general population. Tools may vary from the apartheid public education system to the prison-industrial complex and even the “give aways.” Give aways are those commodities the ultra elite a/k/a the oligarchs will part with to keep the rabble from revolting. That would be just enough to keep them sated. Those in total control of Texas Red and the nation that would be “the real... more

I guess I just don’t get it. Here you have the majority population of both Texas Red and the nation proclaiming they are “compassionate conservative Christians” and yet those same people do things that with all due respect to their delusional smugness have absolutely nothing to do with the Christ. They are just down right mean-spirited at best.I guess I just don’t get it. Here you have the majority population of both Texas... more

It’s interesting that those who proclaim patriotically that we need to export more freedom when it comes to a foreign land are so quick to abandon that sentiment at home.
It’s also interesting that those who claim we have no money and thus have to do away with unions that provide average Americans one of the few opportunities for earning a living wage are also ready to fight tooth and nail to make certain the top 1% doesn't have its taxes bumped up from 35 to 39%.
When people complain to me about Perry, the Texas Red legislature and the general conditions of Texas Red, you know the “cratered landscape of prisons, deplorable apartheid public education, lack of healthcare and politicians and majority population intent on keeping it that way…”I remind that I’m more concernted about the majority population that keeps putting these guys back in office. Hypocritical lapdogs at best. It’s interesting that those who proclaim patriotically that we need to export... more

Results of the 2010 census go public tomorrow, Tuesday 21 December 2010. If you’re a GOPer or Tea Partier you will likely be giddy at the notion of the offing of a new Dark Ages. For some of us this will be a reminder of just why the Founders feared and did not stand-up a democracy. Results of the 2010 census go public tomorrow, Tuesday 21 December 2010. If... more

Recently, I blogged on the move in San Antonio to bring an end to panhandling. This “end” I read wouldn’t come about by the concerted efforts of the collective to improve the lives of those mired in poverty but by imposing an “end” by ordinance. What a joke.Recently, I blogged on the move in San Antonio to bring an end to panhandling. This... more

It is just amazing to me that with a temple on almost every corner Texas Red is such a “hang ‘em high” state.
San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas sends a disproportionate number of its defendants to Death Row. Combined Hispanics and African-Americans comprise 7 out of 10 Texas Red prison-industrial complex inmates on Death Row. That’s a staggering---7 of 10 inmates on Death Row. Hispanics comprise 14% of the general population but almost 30% of the prison population. African-Americans 13% of the general population and almost forty (38.8 %) percent of the prison population. It is just amazing to me that with a temple on almost every corner Texas Red is such a... more

Was the result of the 2010 elections a result of a majority population of lapdogs of the oligarchs? Or a product of our apartheid public education system? Or just mean-spirited compassionate conservative religiosities doing what they do?
Is all the acrimony we are experiencing in political discourse related to every part of our republic and culture? That would especially mean our apartheid public education system, the inherently mean-spiritedness of the majority population or just part of being a good compassionate conservative religiosity lapdog of the oligarchs? I’m just asking…Was the result of the 2010 elections a result of a majority population of lapdogs of... more

It is said that success breeds success and judging from the results of the recent right-wing, GOPer/Tea Partier driven mid-term election---it is so. Frightened, confused, angry and hateful GOPer faithful showed up in droves.
In Texas Red the net result is that 23 of the state’s 32 congressional seats will be GOPer filled. This means in essence that the status of Texas Red is that of pretty much a totalitarian state since the governor’s mansion, both houses of the legislature and for most of recent history is almost the entire state supreme court are GOPer controlled. It is said that success breeds success and judging from the results of the recent... more
