The victim was taken into custody after making threatening comments.
James Eric Fuller, a 63-year-old survivor of the Arizona shootings, was arrested and taken for psychiatric examination after threatening Tucson tea party cofounder Trent Humphries, according to ABC News.
Fuller was in the front row of a special edition of ABC’s This Week with Christiane Amanpour in Tucson on Saturday. After Humphries made a comment about delaying the gun control debate until deceased victims of the shootings are buried, Fuller took his picture on a cell phone and said “you’re dead.”

The former Bush speechwriter who coined the term “axis of evil” claims a link between Jared Loughner, schizophrenia and pot smoking. Forget guns, “The Tucson shooting should remind us why we regulate marijuana.”
Much of our culture’s historic intolerance of marijuana grew out of racism and the quack science used to justify it. Frum acknowledges in his blog post that the “connection between marijuana and schizophrenia is both controversial and complicated.”
He continues:
"After horrific shootings, we hear calls for stricter regulation of guns. The Tucson shooting should remind us why we regulate marijuana."
"Jared Lee Loughner, the man held as the Tucson shooter, has been described by those who know as a “pot smoking loner.”
"He had two encounters with the law, one for possession of drug paraphanalia."

What's this? News from an airport that doesn't make you want to vomit blood in outrage? Finally. A grandfather caught up in airport security gridlock made it to his son's funeral when his flight's pilot refused to depart without him.
The man, whose grandson had been murdered only days earlier, arrived two hours early for his domestic flight. Thanks to the complete indifference of the security staff he encountered, he was given no assistance as he struggled to make it through security in time for takeoff. Finally, having arrived at his gate in his bare feet, 12 minutes late, he was greeted with the following: "Are you Mark? We held the plane for you and we're so sorry about the loss of your grandson."
The pilot, informed of the family's loss, had delayed the flight by 12 minutes to allow the man to board. When the man's family thanked the pilot, he, in a line that I'm sure will be delivered in the film version by John Hamm, replied only: "They can't go anywhere without me and I wasn't going anywhere without you. Now relax. We'll get you there. And again, I'm so sorry."
It's not often you get to call an airline classy—or really anything other than completely awful, but way to be the exception Southwest.

Judy Clarke, Who Defended the 'Unabomber,' Will Represent Jared Lee Loughner
===================================================
Judy Clarke, the attorney who represented "Unabomber" Theodore Kaczynski, will defend Jared Lee Loughner, the young man authorities say tried to fatally shoot Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
Loughner, 22, the college dropout who went on a shooting rampage Saturday morning in Tuscon, Ariz., has been charged with five federal counts, including the attempted assassination of a member of Congress. Additional charges are expected.
The suspect has an experienced defender of high-profile criminals in Clarke, appointed to the case by the Federal Public Defender's Office in Phoenix. Currently in private practice in San Diego, she previously served as president of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and from 2002 to 2009 she was the first full-time capital resource counsel for the Federal Public and Community Defender Program.
Clarke's representation of Loughner could be indicative of the harsh sentence faced by the suspect, should he be convicted.
Here is a quick list of infamous criminals either represented or counseled by Clarke:
1. 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui
Moussaoui is serving a life sentence at a maximum security prison in Colorado for his role in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
2. "Unabomber" Theodore Kaczynski
Kaczynski is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for his mail bombing campaign that killed three people and injured 23 others.
3. Atlanta Olympics bomber Eric Rudolph
Rudolph was responsible for Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park bombing in 1996. After his five years as a fugitive, authorities caught the "Olympic Park Bomber," who is now serving multiple life sentences.
4. Susan Smith, who drowned her toddlers in 1994
Smith is serving a life sentence in South Carolina for murdering her two sons, with the possibility of parole in November 2024.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axoFxLlUpwU&feature=related

Neighbor says Ariz. suspect's parents blame selves.
PHOENIX (AP) - A neighbor says the parents of the suspect in Saturday's shooting spree in Tucson are devastated and guilt-ridden.
Jared Loughner (LAWF'-nuhr) appeared in court Monday on federal charges that he tried to assassinate U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and killed a federal judge. He is also accused of killing five others and wounding or injuring 13 others.
Wayne Smith, who lives across the street from the family, said Randy and Amy Loughner blame themselves.
Smith said he told the couple they didn't fail.
Roxanne Osler, whose son had been a friend of Jared Loughner's, said he had a bad relationship with his parents and had distanced himself from family.
Their home is simple, single-level ranch house with a yard overgrown with cactus and shrubbery, on a quiet, nondescript Tucson, Ariz., street. But inside, there's turmoil.
This is the home of Jared Loughner, charged with firing a bullet into the brain of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and killing six other people, including a child. The 22-year-old suspect was arrested shortly after Saturday's killings and appeared in a Phoenix court on Monday.
But his parents, Randy and Amy Loughner, are still believed to be inside their home, unable to conjure up the courage to face the public. A piece of plywood blocks the gate to their home, to keep curious journalists off their front porch. The sole neighbor who's been allowed inside said the two are crying uncontrollably.

Pictured is the house in Tucson, Ariz., where Jared Loughner lived with his parents. Neighbors said the parents apparently have set up a wooden gate to keep out intruders from their home, which is under constant watch from the media.
"They can't talk without breaking down," neighbor Wayne Smith told Tucson TV station KVOA. "They're hurting."
Smith said Randy Loughner has drafted a statement to the media, which he'll release when he feels up to it. But that could be several days, Smith said. The couple is apparently sick with grief and shame.
"It's just as bad on them as it is anybody else," Smith told KTAR-620 radio. "It wasn't them that did this heinous thing. It was an individual who's their son.
"She's in really bad shape, and we're hoping we don't have to take her to the hospital," Smith continued. He didn't specify what kind of medical problem Amy Loughner has. "He's a mess, and she's worse."
Smith said that while he doesn't know Randy and Amy Loughner very well, the couple let him inside their home and asked him to collect their mail on Monday so they didn't have to go outside and face a crowd of reporters. He's apparently one of the only people they knew on the block, even though they've lived there since before Jared was born.
Smith said the couple were weeping during his whole visit. "Just crying, doing their best, you know. They're hurting," Smith told KTAR-620. They were able to say little, but told Smith they have no idea why their son would shoot anyone.
Randy married Amy Totman in 1986. He became a stay-at-home father after Jared was born in 1988, while Amy worked for the county, according to ABC News. Neighbors said the Loughner household became more isolated from them as Jared, an only child, grew older.
"There was times when we'd be out with other neighbor kids, and Jared wouldn't be allowed out. He'd be watching from the window or door," Rick Dahlstrom told ABC. "They all became very isolated. Randy was isolated, Amy wasn't out anymore. Something changed. They just kept to themselves."
Other neighbors described the Loughner family as quiet and withdrawn. "They liked their privacy," George Gayan, a retired mechanic who's lived next door to the Loughners for three decades, told The Wall Street Journal. Sometimes "I didn't see him for three or four days," he said, referring to Randy Loughner.
The next-door neighbor on the other side, Stephen Woods, told the newspaper he had arguments with Loughner over uncollected trash in front of their homes. At one point, Randy Loughner spotted Woods in a Wal-Mart parking lot and screamed at him, "Trash people!" Woods recalled. He described his neighbor as vituperative and hostile.
Smith, who has lived across the street since 1972, told the Journal he didn't even know the family's last name until after Saturday's shootings.
It was Smith who broke the news of Saturday's rampage to the Loughners. He said the couple returned from grocery shopping, their peeling white Chevy truck loaded with bags, to find sheriff's deputies in their driveway. Police were cordoning off the property with crime scene tape. Smith had watched news of the shootings on TV and walked up to the Loughners and told them he'd heard their son was a suspect.
"She almost passed out right there," Smith told the Journal about Amy Loughner's reaction. "He sat in the road with the tape up and cried."http://assets.nydailynews.com/img/2011/01/09/gal_giffords_06.jpg... more

Targeting Political Terrorism = LETS START HERE...
http://www.peopleokwithmurderingassange.com
Wikileaks today offered sympathy and condolences to the victims of the Tucson shooting together with best wishes for the recovery of U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords. Giffords, a democrat from Arizona's 8th district, was the target of a shooting spree at a Jan 8 political event in which six others were killed.
Tucson Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, leading the investigation into the Gifford shooting, said that "vitriolic rhetoric" intended to "inflame the public on a daily basis ... has [an] impact on people, especially who are unbalanced personalities to begin with." Dupnik also observed that officials and media personalities engaging in violent rhetoric "have to consider that they have some responsibility when incidents like this occur and may occur in the future."
WikiLeaks staff and contributors have also been the target of unprecedented violent rhetoric by US prominent media personalities, including Sarah Palin, who urged the US administration to “Hunt down the WikiLeaks chief like the Taliban”. Prominent US politician Mike Huckabee called for the execution of WikiLeaks spokesman Julian Assange on his Fox News program last November, and Fox News commentator Bob Beckel, referring to Assange, publicly called for people to "illegally shoot the son of a bitch." US radio personality Rush Limbaugh has called for pressure to "Give [Fox News President Roger] Ailes the order and [then] there is no Assange, I'll guarantee you, and there will be no fingerprints on it.", while the Washington Times columnist Jeffery T. Kuhner titled his column “Assassinate Assange” captioned with a picture Julian Assange overlayed with a gun site, blood spatters, and “WANTED DEAD or ALIVE” with the alive crossed out.
John Hawkins of Townhall.com has stated "If Julian Assange is shot in the head tomorrow or if his car is blown up when he turns the key, what message do you think that would send about releasing sensitive American data?"
Christian Whiton in a Fox News opinion piece called for violence against WikiLeaks publishers and editors, saying the US should "designate WikiLeaks and its officers as enemy combatants, paving the way for non-judicial actions against them."
WikiLeaks spokesman Julian Assange said: "No organisation anywhere in the world is a more devoted advocate of free speech than Wikileaks but when senior politicians and attention seeking media commentators call for specific individuals or groups of people to be killed they should be charged with incitement -- to murder. Those who call for an act of murder deserve as significant share of the guilt as those raising a gun to pull the trigger."
“WikiLeaks has many young staff, volunteers and supporters in the same geographic vicinity as these the broadcast or circulation of these incitements to kill. We have also seen mentally unstable people travel from the US and other counties to other locations. Consequently we have to engage in extreme security measures.”
“We call on US authorities and others to protect the rule of law by aggressively prosecuting these and similar incitements to kill. A civil nation of laws can not have prominent members of society constantly calling for the murder and assassination of other individuals or groups.”

Daniel Hernandez had been U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' intern for five days when she was shot Saturday outside Tucson.
The junior at the University of Arizona was helping check people in at the "Congress on Your Corner" event when he heard gunfire. He was about 30 feet from the congresswoman. When the shots began, he ran toward them.
"I don't even know if the gunfire had stopped," he said Saturday night as he kept a vigil at the University Medical Center cafeteria, gathered near a TV watching tributes and getting updates.
When the shots began that morning, he saw many people lying on the ground, including a young girl. Some were bleeding. Hernandez said he moved from person to person checking pulses.
"First the neck, then the wrist," he said. One man was already dead. Then he saw Giffords. She had fallen and was lying contorted on the sidewalk. She was bleeding.
Using his hand, Hernandez applied pressure to the entry wound on her forehead. He pulled her into his lap, holding her upright against him so she wouldn't choke on her own blood. Giffords was conscious, but quiet.
Ron Barber, Giffords' district director, was next to her. Hernandez told a bystander how to apply pressure to one of Barber's wounds.
Barber told Hernandez, "Make sure you stay with Gabby. Make sure you help Gabby."
Hernandez used his hand to apply pressure until someone from inside Safeway brought him clean smocks from the meat department. He used them to apply pressure on the entrance wound, unaware there was an exit wound. He never let go of her.
He stayed with Giffords until paramedics arrived. They strapped her to a board and loaded her into an ambulance. Hernandez climbed in with her. On the ride to the hospital, he held her hand. She squeezed his back.
When they arrived at the hospital, Hernandez was soaked in blood. His family brought him clean clothes because the FBI took his for evidence.
He waited at the hospital while she went into surgery. He needed to tell police what had happened. He overheard people walking by talking about how Giffords had died. He also heard this on NPR. Later, he learned she had lived.
"I was ecstatic," he said. "She was one of the people I've looked up to. Knowing she was alive and still fighting was good news. She's definitely a fighter, whether for her own life, or standing up for people in southern Arizona."
The fact that Hernandez was nearby and able to react quickly probably saved Giffords' life, said state Rep. Matt Heinz, D-Tucson, and a hospital physician. He talked to Hernandez at the hospital after the shooting.
Eight hours after the shooting, Hernandez stood with Giffords' friends and staff and told them what had happened. The tall, strong 20-year-old said, "Of course you're afraid, you just kind of have to do what you can."
They hugged and thanked him. Later, he sat with his mom and sisters and told them about his friends and the staffers who had died that day.
"You just have to be calm and collected," he said. "You do no good to anyone if you have a breakdown. . . . It was probably not the best idea to run toward the gunshots, but people needed help."
