(RT) The Center for Economic and Financial Research and Studies (CEFRS) at the University of Cairo has claimed that the former president embezzled about 87 per cent of foreign aid donated to Egypt. CEFRS director Houda Saleh states that from 1982 to 2010 about $185 billion out of a total of $213 billion never reached its intended destination.

Looks like speculation that the Egyptian Central Bank's gold stash may have been just modestly plundered is starting to play out. According to Reuters. "Egypt has issued a ministerial decree immediately banning the export of gold in all its forms, including jewellery and ornaments, until June 30, the official news agency MENA said on Sunday. "This decision, which comes in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is passing through ..., is to preserve the country's wealth until the situation stabilises," MENA said. Egypt's currency has come under pressure after some of the country's main sources of foreign currency, including tourism and foreign investment, collapsed after the protests that ousted President Hosni Mubarak erupted on Jan. 25." Obviously, this "emergency" step would not be required if the E(gyptian)CB was still in full possession of its purported stash of the inedible metal. Whether the decline is due to alleged Mubarak sequestering of the shiny metal, or by other members of the former ruling regime is unclear, but one thing is certain: the WGC is long overdue in adjusting the Egyptian gold holdings from 75.6 tonnes to their real current value... far lower. As for Egyptian fiat: that is as freely exportable now as ever. If only anyone wanted it. But yes, somehow emerging markets are manipulating their currencies lower than fair value, the conventional wisdom claims.

Glenn Beck aims at Google. Why you ask? Because of the CEOs having roles in the Egyptian Revolution. "I'm really not sure that I want my search engine involved in government overthrows, good or bad," he said. "I'm not afraid that Google is reading my email, or tapping your phone lines, or stealing Grandma's recipes...what I'm starting to look at is Google and Google as a whole."
And that look into Google, he said, had led him to conclude that "I'm just not sure...that I want to use their products anymore unless I have to." Beck stressed that he wasn't "leading any boycotts," but that he was not "feeling real comfortable about the current direction of Google the more I find out."Glenn Beck aims at Google. Why you ask? Did you notice who saved Lara Logan from the Muslim mob? That big old “mean” Egyptian military that the crowds are calling “oppressive.” Yes, the soldiers saved her.
I have waited to write about the attack on CBS “60 Minutes” reporter Lara Logan in Egypt….because it seemed there was a lot more to this story. Sure enough, there is. You are NOT going to hear this story reportedly accurately or truthfully by the mainstream media. Why? Because the ugly facts are not politically correct and don’t fit the “happy freedom fighter” meme.
CBS News, to its great shame, tried to “avoid” covering the brutal beating and sexual assault of its own reporter and only covered the story when it was clear that other media were going to print it.
So the next question is…why the blackout of this story by the supposed “jewel” of American broadcasting, hmmmm? And why the “whitewash” of the facts once the story DOES come out? Think why. What is happening in Egypt is NOT a “democratic” revolution. It is scripted, paid for and choreographed by the Muslim Brotherhood, make no mistake.
Lara Logan is not Jewish, but the horde of hyenas beating and assaulting her were screaming, “Jew! Jew!” We don’t know exactly what “sexual assault” means, but supposedly her injuries were “serious.” She is out of the hospital today, supposedly speaking “candidly” about what happened and promising to return to work. She is a tough one. Will what happened change her view about who the “revolutionaries” are in Egypt? Will she tell the truth about WHO THEY REALLY ARE?

Social Media Today examines the mechanics of social networking in the Middle East and how they contributed to the revolution in Egypt.
"The contributory role played by social media are a powerful demonstration of what I call a We First (as opposed to Me First) thinking and behavior. This mindset involves a fundamental recognition that communities, companies and countries must now embrace and demonstrate an expanded definition of self-interest that includes the greater good. To do otherwise not only threatens their own survival, but invites a revolution led by those united by shared values and connected by social technology".Social Media Today examines the mechanics of social networking in the Middle East and... more

Circulating through the streets of Cairo Friday night, with families packed into cars honking their horns in celebration and everyone strolling to Tahrir Square, I heard so many celebratory chants, but none more accurate and powerful in its simplicity than this one: “The people of Egypt made the regime step down.’’Postcard From a Free Egypt |
