Not Long ago, Rand Paul embarrassed himself and his party with a condescending attempt to paint the GOP as attractive to Latinos. Yesterday he was outright insulting, when he embarrassed himself and his party to black students at Howard University. Republican minority outreach has one problem. To succeed, Republicans must convince minority communities that obviously racist GOP policy is not at all racist. Not Long ago, Rand Paul embarrassed himself and his party with a condescending... more

Here is the fourth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honoree is Liberty Law School’s Dean, J. Matt Barber, who shows his Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian love by supporting the Ugandan effort to invoke the death penalty for being gay. Here is the fourth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals... more

The level of hatred that pervades the Republican right never ceases to amaze me. This hatred seems especially intense among the sheeple who regularly pollute their brains with Faux Noise, the Republican Ministry of Propaganda. In this example, the response of Fox brainwashed Republicans is enough to boggle the mind. The level of hatred that pervades the Republican right never ceases to amaze me. This... more

When the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a report in 2009 that there was an increased danger of hate crimes by right wing extremists, the right wing extremists, aka the Republican Party objected so strenuously that the author was fired. The DHS now has only one agent investing right wing terrorism, and that is a huge mistake. When the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a report in 2009 that there was... more

To the complete surprise of most of us, John Boehner, aka Agent Orange, caved-in on the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). He did so by allowing a few relatively sane Republicans to vote with all the Democrats, except one who was absent. Nevertheless, 138 Republicans voted for violence against women. I took names. To the complete surprise of most of us, John Boehner, aka Agent Orange, caved-in on... more

Here is the third article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honoree is Injustice Antonin Scalia, because he prefers his own racist view, in support of the Republican War on Minorities, to the law, as set by the US Constitution. Here is the third article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals... more

I’m starting a new intermittent series called Republicans on Parade. From time to time, I come across an individual who personifies what the Republican Party has become, and I plan to use this series to present them in all their Republican glory. Our first Republican on Parade is former Republican Mayor of San Diego, Roger Hedgecock.I’m starting a new intermittent series called Republicans on Parade. From time... more

Nothing should be more clearly non-partisan than protecting women from violence. Opposing such a basic sentiment could not be more overtly shameful. Nevertheless, that is exactly what eight Republican Senators have done.Nothing should be more clearly non-partisan than protecting women from violence.... more

Republicans seem willing to go to war at the drop of a hat. Their War on the Poor, War on Gays, War on Workers, War on Women, War on Muslims, War on Minorities, and more demonstrate that point more than adequately. But of all the Republican wars, the one that makes the least sense of all is their War on Science, as this piece by Paul Krugman indicates.Republicans seem willing to go to war at the drop of a hat. Their War on the Poor,... more

Since it’s a slow weekend for domestic news, I ran across an unusual story to share. It’s not at all newsworthy, but it left me scratching my head at wonder that anyone could actually believe this garbage.Since it’s a slow weekend for domestic news, I ran across an unusual story to... more

One might think that, given their disastrous fate on Tuesday, Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians would back off their continuous stream of hatred toward and encouragement of violence against LGBT people. Sadly, if one did think that, one would be wrong. One might think that, given their disastrous fate on Tuesday, Republican Supply-side... more

At a campaign event yesterday, Barack Obama said that, if your mad at Republicans, the best way to take revenge is to vote, not to boo. Needless to say, Lord Willard has no authentic campaign issues to raise, so he got his panties in a bunch and did some major sniveling over Obama’s statement. So is revenge a valid reason to vote? You betcha! At a campaign event yesterday, Barack Obama said that, if your mad at Republicans, the... more

On days where a single story dominates the news, we can usually depend on the Bachmann wing of the Republican Party to do something or say something sufficiently outrageous to leave us shaking our heads in disgust. Every time the Republican Party reaches a new low in overtly racist conspiracy theories, I wonder how they could possibly do anything more despicable. I shouldn’t wonder. They always do. I trust you remember when Michele Bachmann made the ridiculous claim that the Obama Administration is infiltrated by the Muslim Brotherhood, specifically accusing Huma Abedin. If you voted for Barack Obama…
If you are a vet and were maimed defending our nation…
If you worked all your life, and paid for Social Security…
If you paid for your Medicare…
If you have a student loan…
If your children receive a free meal at school…
If you receive unemployment benefits, even if Bain Capital outsourced your job…
If you receive food stamps…
If you receive a penny from the government in any way (except corporate welfare)…
Then Romney does not concern himself with you, because you are a lazy moocher, you refuse to take responsibility for your own life, and you consider yourself a victim.
How do we know? Willard said so himself! If you voted for Barack Obama…

It’s time to get out the tinfoil hat polish again as Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians are gathering to express their gospel of hate, fear, bigotry, greed and racism fostered, not by the real Jesus, who represented the exact opposite, but by the Jesus they invented themselves: Republican Supply-side Jesus. And in the midst of all this is the Republican VP candidate, Paul Ryan. It’s time to get out the tinfoil hat polish again as Republican Supply-side... more

The first amendment guarantees the freedom of religion, but forbids the establishment of any stare religion. The only way for government to reasonably do this is to avoid preferential treatment for one religion over another. Therefore is is perfectly appropriate for the President to participate in the festivals and holidays of several religions, bit not just one. However, Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians seem to think freedom of religion means freedom for only THEIR religion. The first amendment guarantees the freedom of religion, but forbids the establishment... more

Republican National Committee leader Pat Rogers sent emails telling New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez’s staff that meeting with a group of American Indians “dishonored” Gen. George Armstrong Custer.
Last check, Custer is still dead and over 10% of the population of New Mexico is Native American, so Governor Martinez would be remiss in her duties if she didn't have the occasional meeting with some American Indians. "Martinez is required by law to attend the annual state-tribal leaders summit, according to Progress Now New Mexico, which called for him to step down." *
WTFrack? Do these xenophobic clods really think ignoring people of color, citizens of this country, will make them go away? Attention GOP white whiner: White people are not the majority. Never have been. Never will be. And Custer was the worst kind of murderer; no one can dishonor him, he did that all by himself. But Pat Rogers dishonors the people, all the people, of New Mexico with his racist, idiotic sniveling.
