What has happened in Libya while our attention was distracted on Obama's holy mission to kill Osama?
After 7000 air missions, they still haven't accomplished what Obama set out to do...which nobody, including Obama, really knows what he wanted to do, but it definitely had something to do with his 2012 reelection campaign.
Congress says Libya is a stalemate, and Obama is now, behind our backs when we were pitching a fit about the murder of OBL in Pakistan, looking for loopholes which would allow him to do whatever he wanted to with our mlitary, including telling Congress to go take a hike, he'll stay in Libya as long as he damned well wants to.
Congress is getting antsy (FINALLY, WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THESE SLAGGARDS?) about the 60-day free-throw war that a U.S. president now gets before they have to follow the Constitution and get permission from Congress to engage another country in acts of war.
Kadaffi has been just chillin', sending out a few "nanny-nanny-poo-poo" messages to Obama when he has a few minutes to himself. As my mother used to say, "No rest for the wicked."
It seems our president will not be satisfied until he has finally found a war he can actually "win" ---HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I sure wish he would have served in Desert Storm---he wouldn't be so anxious to get Americans and civilians slaughtered if he'd done it himself.

After 2 months, no end in sight to Libyan air campaign
McClatchy Newspapers
Published Tuesday, May. 17, 2011
WASHINGTON — On March 19, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's army had quashed weeks of anti-government protests and was poised for an all-out assault on Benghazi, the opposition's stronghold, when the U.N. Security Council authorized coalition forces to step in and protect civilians.
Two months and nearly 7,000 air sorties later, the international military campaign has stopped a potentially devastating massacre in Benghazi, allowed humanitarian aid into besieged civilian areas and helped the rebels keep their hold on eastern Libya.
But Gadhafi, hunkered down in his heavily fortified bastion in the western capital, Tripoli, betrays no sign of ceding power. His loyalists, though weakened, continue to bombard the opposition's scattered outposts in the west.
When the United States and its European and Arab allies launched the air war, President Barack Obama said that U.S. forces would carry out "a limited military action ... to protect Libyan civilians." Today that military effort continues under NATO command, but with no coalition nation willing to commit ground forces or substantially more firepower, there's no clear end in sight.
"The air campaign has prevented a bad thing from happening. But it's done nothing to resolve the issue of whether Gadhafi stays or goes," said Paul Hughes, a retired Army colonel who's now with the Center for Conflict Analysis and Prevention at the U.S. Institute of Peace, a research center.
Some members of Congress say that the war has become a stalemate, but the Obama administration maintains that the intervention has worked. White House officials say that it's bought the inexperienced Libyan opposition time to get organized while the United States and its allies weigh how much more direct support to offer. What has happened in Libya while our attention was distracted on Obama's holy... more

Wel, well, WELL! Things are certainly getting interesting now.
OBL's fourth son, apparently acting as a spokesperson for the family, is calling for evidence that OBL was actually killed.
He is also calling any such death as illegal, and questions why Sadam got a trial but his father, OBL, did not.
It looks like it's gonna be "put-up-or-shut-up time" real soon.

Osama bin Laden's son says U.S. broke international law 'if' his father is dead
May 10, 2011 | 12:35 pm
Osama bin Laden's son Omar says he always disagreed with his father about violence, and is now disagreeing with the violence purportedly used against his father.
In a statement written by the Bin Laden family but signed only by Omar, 30, the United States is accused of breaking international law by killing the un armed terrorist leader without a trial. That is, they said, if the mission was indeed successful.
Omar bin Laden began the statement (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/11/world/asia/binladen-statement.html?_r=3&ref=asia) by saying that he and the family do not believe that the Al Qaeda leader is dead and, like the so-called deathers in this country, want to see photographs and/or video evidence as proof.
"We are not convinced on the available evidence in the absence of dead body, photographs, and video evidence that our natural father is dead," Omar bin Laden wrote in a statement that was released to the New York Times. "Therefore, with this press statement, we seek such conclusive evidence to believe the stories published in relation to 2 May 2011 operation Geronimo as declared by the President of United States Barrack Hussein Obama in his speech that he authorized the said operation and killing of OBL and later confirmed his death."
If his father were "executed," Omar said, he wonders why people such as Saddam Hussein and Slobodan Milosevic were given a chance in front of a judge while his father "was not arrested and tried in a court of law."
In the statement, Omar bin Laden identified himself as "the fourth-born son of our father," and said he "always disagreed with our father regarding any violence and always sent messages to our father, that he must change his ways and that no civilians should be attacked under any circumstances."
When it was announced earlier this month that the elder Bin Laden was dead, U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. maintained that the mission was indeed legal.
"Let me make something very clear," Holder said. "The operation in which Osama bin Laden was killed was lawful. He was the head of Al Qaeda, an organization that conducted the attacks of September the 11th [2001]. He admitted his involvement."

The photo on the left is the one taken from the Pentagon-released video. The photo on the right is one from an ABC interview.
One of the big differences is the tragus part of the ear. It is very different in those two photos, and I could not identify any photo-editing. The other things this article mentions--the apparent left-dominant hand, the shape of the end of the nose, the cheek-bone structure...they're iffy for me (but I'm not an expert). However, the difference in the ears is easily seen.
Of course, the question that begs to be asked is this: What else have they lied about? And why do they feel it absolutely necessary to lie?

Pentagon released Bin Laden home video could be a fake
May 8th, 2011
Author: Richard Henley Davis
Evidence has come to light which suggests one of the much hyped Osama Bin Laden home videos could actually be fake.
The press are tripping over themselves to point out the narcissistic characteristics of Osama Bin Laden because of a video released by the Pentagon which supposedly shows Osama fixated by images of himself on television.
The video at no time shows a full frontal image of Bin Laden’s face, however the side profile of the gentleman sitting down watching footage of Bin Laden does bare a strong resemblance to the scape goat mastermind of the 9/11 atrocities.
However, under closer examination the gentleman with a grey beard may NOT actually be Osama Bin Laden.
The cheekbones appear more pronounced, facial hair growth pattern is broader and extends further across the cheek, the end of the nose seems to be a different shape and the ears (particularly the tragus) have noticeable differences when compared to a bona fide image of Bin laden taken from an interview with ABC (on the right of above image) compared to the Pentagon released Bin Laden home video.
There is the chance of course though that Bin Laden had facial reconstructive surgery, however such surgery would seem highly unlikely seeing as the Pentagon has not even hinted at such a thing. Or has age just altered his features?
If Bin Laden did have facial reconstructive surgery the surgeon behind the operation/operations would probably be the most sought after facial reconstructive surgeon in the world seeing as there seems to be no visible sign of alteration.
So what conclusions can be drawn from differentiating between bona fide footage of Bin Laden and the Pentagon released video of a man with a grey beard watching Bin Laden on a small portable television with no facial frontal shot? Oh! Just a quick additional point, the man in the video uses the TV remote control in his right hand and only gesticulates with his left. And. you’ve guessed it, OBL was (according to the FBI) left handed.
But this left-handedness has been disputed, as has his ability to actually move his left arm due to a stroke, as in this piece by Professor David Ray Griffin.
If the release of this video showing a man who looks a bit like Osama Bin Laden fails identification under closer examination through an oversight by the Pentagon, then the world really is in trouble with an idiocracy at the helm of U.S. national security.
The other option is much more insidious.......

For the next 18 months, are we going to have to hear Obama pull a Guilliani every time he speaks? You know, as Joe Biden said: every sentence Guilliani uttered while on the 2008 campaign trail included "a noun, a verb and 911"?
And is Obama going to have to use the 9/11 Memorial as a photo-op, like GWBush did, for elections and when he needs to distract America's attention from one of his blunders or illegal activities?

STATS & POLLS
* For Obama, Big Rise in Poll Numbers After Bin Laden Raid: Support for President Obama rose sharply after the killing of Osama bin Laden, with a majority now approving of his overall job performance, as well as his handling of foreign policy, the war in Afghanistan and the threat of terrorism, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.
The glow of national pride seemed to rise above partisan politics, as support for the president rose significantly among both Republicans and independents. In all, 57 percent said they now approved of the president’s job performance, up from 46 percent last month.
But euphoria was tempered by a sense of foreboding: more than six in 10 Americans said that killing Bin Laden was likely to increase the threat of terrorism against the United States in the short term. A large majority also said that the Qaeda leader’s death did not make them feel any safer. Just 16 percent said they personally felt more safe now…. – NYT, 5-5-11
THE HEADLINES….
* Obama giving NY its moment of justice on bin Laden: From the heart of the shocking terror strike on America, President Barack Obama will try to bury the memory of Osama bin Laden by honoring those who died in the fiery Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. In private talks with families and a somber ceremony at ground zero, Obama is out to let New York have its own moment of justice. Obama heads to New York City on Thursday after sharply rejecting calls for him to release photos of a slain bin Laden so the world could see some proof of death. .....
=============
Just in case Obama cannot humiliate our country anymore than he has already...He launches his illegal, unilateral, invasion and occupation of Pakistan, with the murder of people living in a residential compound--one of whom is rumored to be OBL, but we won't know until Obama and his 2012 campaign handlers get done re-arranging the official story so that it resembles something close to what could have happened.
We now see that Obama isn't happy just mimicking GWBush's worst policy deicsions. Indeed, he is insisting on mimicking Rudy Guilliani's hugely embarassing "noun-verb-911" obsession with pimping 9/11 for cheap election purposes.http://tinyurl.com/3nkjjqc
