Brandon Darby is a well known former community activist who was convinced by the FBI that his work was just too dangerous and he would be better off working for them. Darby is mostly known for his involvement with the framing of David McKay (22) and Bradley Crowder (23) who were arrested at the 2008 RNC on suspicion of being domestic terrorists after 6 months of intense grooming by Darby himself, who was at the time an FBI informant.
Darby has had a complete change of heart after his encounter with "the man" and is fast becoming a well known right-wing talking head. Just last week Darby was attending an Orlando Tea Party event in honor of "Sheriff Joe" when he had yet another chance to turn his back on his once fellow activists when he forcibly removed two non-violent women, even using a creepy black cloth to cover up one of the woman to make sure her statement would not be delivered to the room full of so called libertarians.
According to a public service announcement on Indybay. org, Brandon Darby is now seeking "right wing" money to be able to travel to the Bay Area to report the "truth" on the movement. Darby and his pal Lee are planning to visit #OccupyOakland to "help shine a light on the real #Occupy movement," as they say on their donation page titled "Support Indie Journalism On Occupy Oakland / SF."
It goes without saying that all are welcome to OccupyOakland (and/or any occupation site) and Brandon Darby is no exception. Of course he should come and see for himself what the movement is all about, however it is more than clear that Darby has already made up his mind on how he feels about the occupy movement and the activists who are maintaining it. The three bullet points he and his friend are using for fundraising are: rape, ACORN, and internal strife and violence. His attempts to divide and conquer the movement will never leave the ground as he is using all of the media's old tricks of divisive language and fear mongering.
Darby is rising fast in the illusionary world of right wing politics as he claims to be able to offer great incite into the "left wing" machine to those who seek it. Darby is making his rounds speaking to "conservative sleepers," as I like to call them, speaking on the evils of OccupyWallStreet and the righteousness of law enforcement as well as the great need and joy of an authoritarian system of government.
I will keep my eye out for Darby while I am at OccupyOakland & OccupySF and try to get an interview to get to the bottom of what caused such a dramatic shift in thinking and living.

The basic idea behind having a police force is to maintain our civilization (as we/they know it) and to have someone to call when we need assistance. When a person is given authority over another, the human dynamic shifts dramatically from equal/mutual respect to an elevated level of fear, feeling of superiority, and suddenly now one person is perceived to have more power than the other, when in fact all humans hold the same inherit power to decide and direct their own lives. It is clear that I am no fan of the authoritarian structured society that we find our selves in, which is why I choose to share my thoughts with you. We have a great opportunity to create a new system in which we are allowed to Occupy our own communities with out fear of armed forces, (which we pay for) coming to forcibly remove us in the name of peace and safety.
Early this morning Occupy Oakland was raided by hundreds of riot police in head to toe protective gear designed to protect a person in battle. The police came armed with toxic gasses, automatic weapons, military style training, and pure hatred for humanity. After restraining and transporting (kidnapping) dozens of protesters against their will, they left with nothing but things, leaving the idea of free humanity to grow in the minds of thousands of inspired soon-to-be dissenters as well as reinforced the need of Americans waking up and realizing that they are being treated like un-caged animals who need to be herded and protected from themselves, not to mention the big bad wolves out there...
On Sunday, police forces forced occupiers in Portland Oregon out of their camp and into the streets after Mayor Sam Adams ordered the protesters to be forcibly removed for their safety. The war zone like scene was the same in cities across the country as police in Denver, Salt Lake City, and even a smaller town in North Carolina made multiple arrests. At the N.C. incident, eight occupiers were attacked and kidnapped by a tactical team of 25 specially trained officers. Those who were arrested were taken from an abandoned car dealership, where they were seeking shelter from the harsh fall nights.
If we are to live in a "civilization" then we must face the truth and the reality we have chosen. In this reality there are house-less people, there are drug addicts and there are people who need mental heath help. Local and state governments are attempting to capitalize on the fear they know is instilled into human awareness. They claim the camps must be dis-mantled in order to protect the people who live there from the people our society has chosen to forget. Strangely, or more likely not, I did not hear any of the media outlets warn the Egyptians of the obvious dangers of life during their occupation, so why then do you think they are suddenly so concerned for our safety now?
The third month of the occupation movement happens to fall on my 24th birthday, November 17th. I am planning on celebrating at #OccupySF and #OccupyOakland by donating needed supplies like water, packaged food, tarp and blankets (from thrift stores!) I know the protesters will not be gone for long and I know they need our support. If you live near an occupation that you are unable to stay at full time, please on November 17th (or sooner, or both!) take at least one item that can be used to keep someone warm, safe, entertained, fed, loved, whatever it may be that you have to offer. I was just outside for a 30 minute bike ride in light rain and I have to say it must me a tremendous struggle to keep warm in these rainy bay area nights.
One thought that keeps coming to my mind as I write this is the fact that in America, as of 2008, there is over 1 billion square feet of 'self-storage' space built just to store Americans' extra things. That is enough room to house more than 200,000 million people, yet as of January 2011 there is an estimated 1.5 million house-less Americans. I hope the police could realize this fact and think about it when they are removing and arresting homeless people, and think twice about the society they are working so hard to protect.

Everyone knew it was a losing battle, but everyone showed up anyway. In an uprising virtually unprecedented in its size, scope and diversity, malcontents united across Greece to push back against the government's assault on working people.
This week's 48-hour strike drew workers from both public and private sectors, students, the unemployed--just about everyone about to get smacked with the austerity measures that the Parliament has approved under pressure from IMF and Eurozone officials. With tens of thousands of civil service jobs to be downsized, pensions and wages to be gutted, and labor and civil rights under siege, the people's upheaval has proven as severe and persistent as the fiscal butchery that politicians keep ramming down their throats.
People took to the streets because they had nothing to lose.
As one protester, civil engineer Vagelis Filezis, told CNN, "We have no hope. The only hope we have is the strength of the people.”
Sound familiar?

Everyone works hard not to get cheated out of their fair share. In the past 30 years, due to gains in technology, productivity rose but salaries when adjusted for inflation decreased for the middle class. The extra wealth accumulated at the top 1%. They then use that wealth to influence politicians and get bailouts and all sorts of other favors. When wealth that is concentrated in the hands of a few is one of the main influences in politics then society is no longer a democracy it is a plutocracy. That is what the protest is about. We all work hard and we all want to be treated fairly and we want the rule of law to be restored such that it applies to everyone in society and that the wealthy are not exempt from their actions. Corporations are needed; unethical behavior and corruption aren't needed.Everyone works hard not to get cheated out of their fair share. In the past 30 years,... more

But perhaps nowhere has a mayor welcomed supporters like Lansing, Michigan Mayor Virg Bernero. First, he sent trash cans and portable toilets to the occupation site, Reutter Park. He also issued a permit to them without an expiration date. On Thursday night, he appeared on The Ed Show where he said "This unholy alliance of Washington and Wall Street hasn't served average Americans very well and they are rising up. It started in New York. It spread. And now it is in Lansing and I welcome it in Lansing, Michigan."
Then, yesterday, at a rally at the State Capitol Building, Bernerno, who lost his gubernatorial bid to Republican Rick Snyder, offered his support as he welcomed protesters to Lansing:But perhaps nowhere has a mayor welcomed supporters like Lansing, Michigan Mayor Virg... more

I arrived at Louisville Metro Council meeting a little late, but soon enough to get some footage of Rush Cosgrove speaking at the Louisville Metro Council meeting and was amazed at how the Metro Council folks seemed to be bored and inattentive as Rush Cosgrove spoke.
I've got news for the Louisville Metro Council. These, Occupy Louisville, folks are serious.
The city of Louisville has herded the Occupy Louisville folks to the Belvedere at night with no restroom facilities and I suspect the next thing the good Louisville city fathers will bitch about is the Occupy Louisville folks relieving themselves outside of the restrooms they, the Louisville city fathers, have locked. I'll bet if a banker had to take a piss the Louisville city fathers would provide him/her with a place and/or they be there with a container to catch it in.
The way I see it is the Louisville city fathers have a decision to make. Stand with Wall Street and the rich bankers or represent the people. Remaining silent or sitting on the fence is not an option as far as I'm concerned.
I realize the video below may be a little over the top for some, but this is how I feel and the impression I got at the Louisville Metro Council meeting.I arrived at Louisville Metro Council meeting a little late, but soon enough to get... more

Tea Party darling, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), plans to make an example of the government by co-sponsoring a bill that would eliminate 1 out every 10 federal jobs by 2015, because, apparently, 9.1% unemployment is simply too low for him. S. 1611 or the “Reducing the Size of the Federal Government Through Attrition Act,” would slash nearly 440,000 jobs at the federal level...
