Epic, extremely articulate rant by Kansas City Chiefs lineman Eric Winston about fans in Kansas City cheering when quarterback Matt Cassell, who has been embattled for his inconsistent play, suffered a concussion.
Winston was obviously upset and on the verge of tears afterward and has became a bit of a folk hero on TV and YouTube for this rant:

"We are not gladiators and this is not the Roman Colosseum ... This is a game. This is a game that's going to cost us a lot down the road. That's OK. We picked it. We deserve it. I don't want your pity. But we've got a lot of problems as a society if people think that's (cheering when someone gets hurt) OK."
"There are long-lasting ramifications to the game we play. Long-lasting ramifications. I've already come to the understanding that I probably won't live as long because of the game I play. And that's OK. That's the choice I've made. That's the choice all of us has made."
Not all athletes are dumb.
At the University of Miami, Eric Winston majored in International Finance and Marketing and played offensive tackle. He graduated in 3 years with a 3.5+ GPA and was a 2005 All-America selection.
